  1. Feeling good, healing up well, enjoying being active and exercising! I'm actually hungry now, yesterday was the first time I got hungry since surgery. I'm still on full liquids so there's not much thought involved with "eating" but it works. It's weird to not obsess over food, and it's a relief too!

How are you doing with your progress toward bandhood?

  2. Hey Dani, looks like you and I are partners in the lose-200-lbs-or-so group. There's not too many of us, I think a lot of surgeons prefer bypass for higher weight loss goals. Just wanted to say howdy and let's stay in touch. We have further to go, but now that we're banded anything is possible! :-)

  3. I feel better and better as every day goes by. I lasted all day yesterday without a nap, woohoo! I usually take the pain med before bed too, because I'm a side-sleeper and I move a lot. But the night before last, I slept like a rock! And last night I slept really well too, was even able to sleep on both sides. I feel less sore today than yesterday, and plan on heading to the gym in a few to go for a walk. It's not as fun walking around my neighborhood without someone to go with me. How are you doing today?

  4. Thank you for the well wishes! I am home and feeling sleepy but good. :-)

  5. Surgery went well, I'm home and WAY tired. Trying to stay up so I can sleep through the night. How are you?

  6. Hey Sarah! You're having surgery 5/12 too? Good luck and let me know how you are doing!

  7. Thanks Gina! I will keep you all updated, and can't wait to see you at the next support group meeting. :-)

  8. Hey lady, how are you doing? Apparently I created a social group at the same time another lady from our support group did, so join "Banded around Burbank" instead - it's a great group of people, mostly banded by Dr. Quilici.

YIKES I have surgery in three days!!!! Wow I think it's just hitting me. But I'm prepared so WOOHOO!

  9. Hey, you're a Mayo Bandito from Cali too! When is your surgery? And what surgeon are you going to? I always think that California would have more bandsters but it seems the majority are from the midwest/south/eastern parts of the states.

  10. Hi there, how did your banding go?

I'm hopefully getting banded by Dr. Quilici in April. How was your experience with him? Any tips or pointers you can give me?

    TY! Kelly

  12. I probably have a few more months, I'm getting my insurance to pay for it and they are making me jump through tons of hoops. But it will be worth it! I can't wait!

  13. Nice! I just had my consultation with him today - had to wait til 09 rolled around for my new insurance. How's your journey goin?

  14. Hey Froggi! Wanted to say hi, it's been awhile since I was on here and you have been so helpful to me. Looks good - you're approved! Good news! I can't wait to see how it all goes!

    XOXO

  15. Hi Cass! I haven't had my surgery yet, I just started the 6 mo diet to get insurance approval. I'll probably be having the surgery at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena. Where are you at on your band journey?

  16. Well your picture shows up on your profile, but not next to your name when you post stuff. That's your "avatar" which is a lot smaller... That's why I have the Texans pic. :-)
