  1. Nov 22nd here, how are you doing with the preop?
  2. Welcome! I used to browse MFP, but felt like they were not a group talking from experience, I do use them to track food etc still
  3. I can resonate with this to a level, since I have my mom living with me for a year and she does as she pleases disregarding the way we live and the rules we have in place, nothing with food but just this idc attitude that we don't do. Great job with keeping communication open with your husband and being honest with each other. I have to agree that you both need to sit down with her and lay out your rules and expectations from her, at the end of the day she is a guest in your house and if she can't comply she can go somewhere else.
  4. Celebrating almost 10lbs down on preop diet, not cheating on it showing my commitment and the idea of warming chocolate protein shake this morning [emoji5].
  5. Less than a week, excited!
  6. It will get easier, trust me. By day 4 it was bearable but the first 3 days, I was wondering if everyone who said it gets easier was just lying lol I'm on day 9 and get hungry but drink water and it goes away then my shakes once some time has passes. I also do jello and broth in between.
  7. You have taken the first step to recognize what you are doing wrong. It is a journey and some days will not be as good as the previous one, concentrate on doing better tomorrow, start your solids and keep your protein and water intake. Workout if there is head hunger or some emotional trigger that makes you want to eat at night and remember why you started this journey, and how far you have come.
  8. 8th day of preop diet, it has become easier. I had my husband's birthday party and I cooked everything without tasting it lol. Only negative thing was having some steak instead of my lean Protein, but otherwise following it to the T. Getting excited! 7 more days until sx date.
  9. 7th day of preop diet, it has become easier. I had my husband's birthday party and I cooked everything without tasting it lol. Only negative thing was having some steak instead of my lean protein, but otherwise following it to the T. Getting excited! 8 more days!
  10. Hi and welcome! You can check the October surgery support group or November (there are some there from that date) October 2022 surgery support - Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums - BariatricPal November 2022 surgery support! - Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums - BariatricPal
  11. A previous nutritionist I worked with, used to do this. Every 3 days, you will do 3 days with a lower calorie intake, and the 4th day, you will up by 200 calories, and it seemed to work at that time. My other nutritionist (yes, I have a few attempts ) will do carb cycling where you consumed more carbs one day/week and then lowered it.
  12. Day 3 of preop diet. Going better than yesterday, I was sick already of the sweetness of the shakes. Today I changed it up with the brands and flavors so it has been okay. I do get to have some chicken/tuna and veggies, so that is my saving grace for the day, but this is hard lol. Will try the broth and other options when I feel like I can't take anymore sweeteners, thankfully the implications of not doing it correctly keep me in check.
  13. I have the samsung fit and my husband has the full feature watch. Both are good, the fit is cheaper as it is not as advanced but I'm basic with what I do with it (steps, texts, exercises, heart rate).!
  14. I have surgery on 11/22. My surgeon in FL does require it even though it is not mandated, but he takes that extra precaution.
  15. Welcome, hope everything goes well with your appointment.
  16. Definitely! Specially with work related things. I'm two weeks away, and I will do all last minute stuff on the weekend at home to have everything in place, I may even start the packing of the hospital bag lol
  17. Officially starting preop diet tomorrow, even though I get to have a meal still freaking out. Waiting for my clearance letter to be provided to the surgeon but according to Doc all is good, but until he has it in his hand I do not trust that. I booked my flight since I do not see much changing and its really cheap so I do not mind if anything does. I'm getting anxious and a little stressed to be honest, too much going on outside of this and I feel in the middle of a tornado, but I trust everything is going to go the way that is supposed to. Will book hotel but can't decide if I want the option to be refundable or not, it's on Thanksgiving week so I'm thinking prices may or may not increase.
  18. Agree, I bought a few for the preop diet different brands and flavors and bought just enough to have a couple for the first few days after surgery, that way if my taste changes, I will not be wasting money. I also have the Isopure unflavored and fruit flavor one to tie me over, but did get bone broth too.
  19. They do not, but either way the surgeon is in a different town about 3 hours away. I have coordinated with my primary to have the clearances and tests done with her since she will be monitoring my labs after surgery and the current medications I take.
  20. Welcome and Congrats!! Hope you get your day soon.
  21. I will have surgery 2 days before Thanksgiving, so if I'm lucky I get to have a pumkin spice protein shake [emoji39] I have seen a lot of people do refried beans, chicken salad, baked ricotta and mashes for the pureed stage, you can search pinterest for some ideas
  22. Yup, that's why I was worried that it may be any issue. My surgeon works differently in that the surgery date is chosen first and the program built around it. So, I knew my surgery date as soon as I did the class and decided to move forward with it but couldn't do any tests prior to 30 days and my primary Doc was booked until today.
  23. Thank you! She had put an expedite on it since surgery is scheduled in 26 days and I will be out of town next week. So, I should be able to have them done by tomorrow. Honestly it has been over 5 years that I had any of these tests done and I'm freaking out that something can go wrong that will push my date.
  24. Hi everyone, I had an appointment with my primary today for the medical clearances, she did the referrals for the EKG and XRay. Does anyone have any experience on how long that took as self paid? She asked I held off on bloodwork until those are done, that way I was cleared before paying for them, but I'm afraid this may delay things. Thank you!
