  1. Glad you are doing well. I found the walking while my stomach giggle painful after I was discharged, while in hospital the nerve blockers were fooling me.
  2. How is everyone from 11/28 and 11/29 doing?
  3. Had my 1 week post op appointment, everything went well. I have been doing good with my fluid almost at 55oz and I'm taking in about 40g of protein. Pain is small on that incision and only when I do certain movements. I'm cleared to start pureed on Monday.

  5. I'm just starting this journey, so I have not experience this yet. However, one of the things I have read/heard during my research is to keep with your plan. If you ask yourself how long you are supposed to be eating healthy and following the plan, your answer will be forever, therefore just keep on doing and they will eventually break.
  6. Good luck, and may you have a blessed and speedy recovery. Let us know how it goes for you.
  7. I had surgery on the 22nd and flew back on the 24th, my doctor said it was fine because it was less than 2 hrs. If I was driving which was roughly a 3-hour trip, they told me to stop every hour and walk for 5 min since the main issue in the beginning is blood clots. I think you should be fine but confirm with your surgeon just in case he has a different guideline, I'm also on lovenox to avoid blood clots.
  8. Pain is good, yesterday and today no pain killers. I did figure the pain I feel when i cough may be to an internal stich or muscle since its between 2 stiches. Getting in and out of bed is easier just some pressure when I get up. I started working today, since I work from home and no discomfort so far. The issue is sleeping on my back, I'm a side sleeper so sleeping on one position all night is affecting my left leg, gets numbs and I get some sciatica pain. I can see me trying to sleep on my side soon. I haven't weight myself yet, waiting for Wed that is my 1st week follow up, I will expect some of the inflammation to be down by then. Attach is an average chart of what we should be losing. Personally, I'm not stressing about it since I lost 20 lbs this month and if following the program things should be moving along. OIP.jfif
  9. Good luck to you, hope everything goes well
  10. Hellooo, still not meeting the 64oz more like 40oz. Finally got my blood thinner injection so have been doing that for 2 days now. I have some discomfort in the area between the big incision and the belly button one, I think thats where some nerve blocker is still leftband itbia becoming alive. Otherwise pain is minimal, only take 1 tylenol a day mainly because of the belly button and the pressure coughing has put to it. I stopped doing the breathing exercise because of the coughing, I know thats the point but when i cough i feel like my insides will burst through there.
  11. Hey, had surgery the 22nd, I also had stomach growling mainly because of the gas and stomach acid, however there are times I feel like hunger, no like before but you know its different. I just keep on sipping on water, shakes or posicles. Have not reached my liquid min at all so I'm concentrating on it. Also, if you look up Dr. V on youtube he has a lot of videos explaining this and how there are over 20 hunger hormones, gherlin being just one and how to understand hunger.
  12. Yesterday was a little tough with the belly button pain, I realized talking, walking too fast and standing too long puts pressure there. Add that I have some coughing and feel like it will burst. Other than that the bigger incision sometimes feels sore and is getting easier to get on bed, still a little struggle to get off bc of the belly button incision. I managed 40oz of water, 4oz of shake and 2oz of broth. Hoping to do better or at least the same for today.
  13. Have you contacted your doctor? I do not recall seeing anyone with swelling on the face and neck. My voice was hoarse the first few hours because of the breathing tube but no swelling
  14. Best to check, I was not allowed caffeine in my preop or 4 weeks after. But post op I'm allowed decaf. Luckily I gave it up in the summer before even thinking about surgery, decaf is not for me.
  15. Congratulations, keep up the good work!
  16. I used to do the same thing when I ate something "that I wasn't supposed to", my nutritionist said that punishing myself after deviating from my meal plan is worse than refraining myself from food as this creates an scenario that is ok for me to cheat as long as I work it off, creating a cycle.
  17. I was also sleeved on 11/22 my surgeon said to not weight myself until the one week check in because of the IV and the changes in the body.
  18. Had surgery the 22nd, start full liquids today. Have been doing good with the water sip all night too, will concentrate mainly on clear fluids before moving to yogurt and other fluids
  19. Make sure to hydrate well the day before. They also hook you up to the IV well bedore your surgery time
  20. Back home! Deff feel more sore today, guess those nerve blockers wore off, also travelled home and the airline I took back was a first time for me, had to walk 2 ramps and up the stairs of jet, not fun. I also think my backpack may have been too heavy for me. Feeling the incisions especially the one on my belly button, wholy cow. Have been sipping all day, I know I did not drink more than 32oz but I have been using the bathroom and the color is good. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
  21. At the end I ditched the slimfast and stuck to premier caramel and chocolate that I will heat up like cocoa, sometimes will mix with the isopure. Isopure also has some fruit clear flavors, I will mix with a little crystal light and the protein and it was good, favorite was tropical punch and mango lime.
  22. Similar to mine, it was easier in retrospect than others just having liquids but the last day I was bored and wanted something else, but I kept reminding myself of the end goal, surgeon said the liver looked great.
  23. It will go great, that gives you a day to prepare anything last minute
  24. Discharged and at the hotel. I'm having some soft stool, that could be from the liquid for the GI test or that greasy broth i got. So far keeping liquids down, have had 12oz of water, broth, and half a jello. Have issues with my prescription, was only able to get one since the pharmacy is closed tomorrow. We will see..
