Wow!! I am so sorry you are having such a rough time. I think one of your problems is dehydration, which will make you pass out. I would suggest you go to the Emergency dept and see if they can give you an IV drip. Then they may be able to look into why you cant keep anything down. It could be why you are having flu like symptoms too. I sure hope you feel better.

He needs to go back to the surgeon and demand the dr to look into why this is happening. There has got to be a reason he cant eat. If that surgeon wont do anything he need to go to a different one.

I would ask your dr if you can use something else but if they insist on this product, try putting flavorings in it. You could add Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup or frozen fruit and put it in a blender with ice, unless youre on a liquid preop diet.

If someone asks I will tell them because maybe they are looking for answers for their problem too or someone they love. I had 2 people tell me that they had a gastric bypass 10 years before. l had always known them thin so I was surprised to learn that they had had a bypass, but also encouraged by that too. I mean they have both kept they weight of for 10 years!! These two ladies are the reason I got started on the path of weight loss. So if some one asks me I will tell them truthfully.

I use the Pro Care chewable vitamins, They seem to be ok. I only have to be on the chewable ones for 3 months then I can go to the tablets.

I will be having my bypass in the next month or so, but I am 68 now and will be 69 before I get my surgery. I really wish I had done this much sooner!

Welcome! Its interesting that you say there may be a corallation between TBI and weight gain. My son in law was always slim until he fell and had a severe head injury. He gained a huge amount of weight and developed diabetes because of it. We just thought it was because he wasnt able to be as active and because he sleep eats in the middle of the night. He is also looking into WLS. Good luck to you. I hope you get to have your surgery soon. I am also just waiting for my Echo and my EGD and hopefully will have a date too.

Do they fill you up? Since they are 200 calories I would not want to use them as a snack but a Meal Replacement.
