Hey Everyone! Sorry I haven't been online in awhile. Ofcourse, BUSY, BUSY, BUSY with work. And last week when I actually had some free time, someone cut the cable line so I was out internet service most of the week. Cathy --You are in my prayers. I personally know how difficult it is to have a loved one with a substance abuse problem. You are welcome to PM me anytime to vent. I have been through more than you can imagine. Barb4 --great news on the lab results. Glad to hear that it turned out in a positive way. keep us up to date on your band and fills. Regina --Congrats on the CNN interview. Please let us know when it will air. I can't wait to see it. I am also happy that your DH is getting the medical support he needs to get stronger and healthier. Socalgal --hang in there. You will make it to your next fill. Go back to some of the basics and techniques that you were losing to get the weight off. We are all here with you. I am still stuck at 192# I was so hoping to be 189 before March 1. I know there is still time but it seems like such a short time. I hope that once I get in the 180s things will start to move for me a bit faster. My past history of weight loss has shown this pattern but it has never taken me this long to get to 180. But then again, I never weighed so much before I started to lose weight. I hope to hear from everyone soon. Take care! Melissa

Hey everyone! It's me again. Nothing new and exciting. I did have a good workout the last 2 days. I haven't been able to jog in about a week and a half because of work and travel. Yesterday I walked 6 miles. Today I jogged 2 miles (I slightly increased the speed on the treadmill) then walked 4 miles. I think that is a good compromise. Pinky --I hope that you are feeling better. Socalgal --how is your training going? I know the weather has been a challenge lately. I hope to feel the breath of Spring around the corner. I hope that you all check in when you get a chance. Melissa

Hey Everyone! I am finally back home from my business trip. I had too much of a good time with food and drink and came back a few pounds heavier. I am mad at myself for allowing myself to enjoy myself too much. I know it's only a couple of pounds but it will take me 2 weeks to lose a couple of pounds. No time at all to gain them, just to lose them. Someone enlighten me ....I did not know there were fires in DFW, TX. What happened??? Where have I been??? Pinky --glad to know that you are feeling better. Barb4 --I hope your stomach is better and that you find relief. Jennapurr --hang in there. Let us know how your upper GI went. Melissa

Hey Everyone! Just dropping by to see how everyone is doing. As usual, life on the highway has been crazy, busy for me. I have meetings this week so I will be flying out tomorrow for the week. Socalgal --I too am such a whimp when it comes to cold weather. I am having a hard time as well. I am freezing all the time too. Pinky --sorry to hear about your bug. That really sucks but so glad it happened after your anniversary. I went and tried on some new clothes yesterdsay. I decided not to buy anything. I am in a 14P pant and mostly 16 tops. Some 18 tops becuse my breast are so large. I haven't lost any of that. I am happy that I have lost inches. But now I am ready to see the numbers on the scales go down a little more. I think the scale is more mental for me than anything else. I hope that everyone else is doing alright. Drop us a line when you can.

Pinky -- I hope that everyone finds us too. I wished they would have posted on our forum a week or 2 before to let us know that they were moving us. Eventually, we will be found. I jogged 3 miles this morning. I am actually surprised because I have not been able to exercise this week at all. I have been working long hours and getting home really late every night. I have not lost any weight this week but I sure can tell that I have lost inches. As long as I am seeing progress, I am happy. I hope that everyone is doing great and staying warm. I am such a whimp when it comes to cold weather. It was sleeting and snowing yesterday. It would have been lovely "lazy" weather but I was out working in it most of the day. Hope to hear from you all soon. Melissa Lea

Hey There! Mary don't fret about running in public. I use to feel the same way. But now, I just find that people who are out exercising (no matter the shape and size) are supportive of one another trying to live a healthy life style. Pinky--glad to hear that your condo has some movement on it and hopefully will be off of your hands in no time. Congrats on the TL. I am so glad to hear that you decided to join. Keep us up to date. Glad to see that everyone is finding the new location. I have no idea why they moved us. I guess they are just trying to clean up the boards. Barb12 --so sorry to hear about your loss of your friend. By the way --how is your back feeling from your injury? Barb4 --I hope that your fill goes well next week and that the heartburn is just a little stump in the process and will go away. Let us know how you are doing. Mary --how is your training for your half marathon going? I read an article in Runners magazine that I think has changed the way I jog. It was speceific to new runners and said that one of the major mistakes we make is to have a stride that is too wide (or long). I have since shortened my stried and it has allowed me to get into a great rhythm without feeling strain on my musles. Just wanted to share that with you. Let us know how your training is going. I had a NSV this morning. I jogged 3.5 miles. The last half mile took a bit of a stretch for me but I made it!!! Still at turtles pace but that will improve with time. I also had a scale victory ---I am at an all time new low of 191 pounds. 2 pounds and I will be in the 180s. I haven't seen the 180s in probably 7 years. I hope to reach that goal by the end of this week. I hope everyone is doing great. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Melissa Lea

It is great to hear from so many people. Barb12 --go in and check your settings. Your email alert may have gotten turned off. Glad to hear from you and know you are doing well. Mary --with the jogging thing, don't over do it starting off. For 2 weeks I jogged every other half mile for 3 to 4 miles and then built from there. I eventually went to every other half mile, etc. Again, I am at no marathon pace but it is nice to get the heart rate up and good sweat ....makes me feel l ike i am accomplishing something. Pinky --glad to know that you are golfing and doing other things that you enjoy. Those 5 pounds will come off. No stress over it . Have a great Day Everyone! Melissa Lea

I DID IT, I DID IT, I DID IT!!!! You all are the second to know (I was the first lol). I jogged 2 MILES today without stopping!!!! And darn it, I am going to jump for joy!!!! Granted, it was 2 very slow miles but it was 2 miles :clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2: Now if more weight loss would follow. I know it will in time. I can tell since I have been working out rather consistantly (aerobics only) the last 2 months I have lost inches. Regina --congrats on 2 months of smoke free!!! That is a HUGE accomplishment. Your Junebies are here for ya. We never left. Mary --you should be proud of making your goal. Even though you may feel dumb, jump for joy (in your underwear if you wish). ALLOW yourself to make a big deal out of it. Barb4 --let us know how you are doing on solids. Everyone else that stops by and lurks ...drop us a line and let us know how your doing 19 months out. Cathy I know exactly how you feel with the cold weather. I am pulling out my good old mini trampoline and jump/jog on it while watching television on some evenings. It will get me moving and that's better than just sitting. It makes sense in my brain. Barb4 --congrats on making it thru day 5 with your fill. I hope that all your troubles with your band are behind you. Melissa

Happy New Year Everyone!! And what a great start for the Junebies!!!! Mary --CONGRATS!! on reaching your goal. Barb4 --let us know how this new fill does for you. Hopefully you will not have anymore problems since your polyps were removed. Barb12 --take it easy with the back. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Ouch!! I know that pain all to well. Julie --Congrats on all the success that you have had with your band thus far! You will reach your goal. Regina --so sorry to hear that you came back home with a cold. I hope that you feel better soon. I had another NSV yesterday. I jogged 1.5 miles on the treadmill without stopping. Granted, I am moving at turtle pace (4 MPH) but I was moving. My goal is to get up to 3 miles at this pace feeling comfortable and non-challenged then I will work on increasing the pace. Although I walk at 3.5 to 4 MPH when on the treadmill, this jogging thing felt like a much better workout (I measured by the amount of sweat). I think I should stick to treadmill workouts for awhile because my ankle did not bother me as much as when I am outdoors (which I love to be). I am still having some trouble with uneven grounds. That will just take some time. Happy New Year and Happy Loosing!! Melissa Lea

Barb465 that's great news that nothing serious was found. I hope that the removal of the polyps helps solve your problem. Hope you enjoy your curise and have a fantastic fill on the 31st. I have had a SV and a NSV the past week over Christmas. The Scale Victory is that I have not gained or lost an ounce. I staid exactly the same with all the Holiday eating and that was my goal. NSV is that I bought and wearing a regular size 14P jean. I wasn't going to buy them but my Aunt said I looked great and that I have to get use to not wearing clothes that have so much added material. I hope everyone is having a great holiday season thus far. Happy New Year. If I don't talk to you again before then, I catch you in the new year. Melissa

Hey there! I just wanted to check in. I've been in Indy all week for training. I haven't had much time to catch up on the board. But I agree with barb 12 ...it's nice to see the board move and hear from people we haven't heard from in awhile. It's very cold. I am not use to this cool, brisk air in the North. But it's been a good trip and nice to meet up with some old friends. Well, I hope that everyone is having a great Holiday Season Thus far. Drop in when you can. Melissa Lea

Hey Everyone! I am happy to hear from some of those that have not been online in awhile. Stella --I am sorry to hear that you have been having trouble with your band. Hang in there. Barb4 --glad to know you had an exciting time on your vacation to Scottland. You will have to share some pics when you have a chance. I've never been. Would love to see some pics. Also, let us know how your EGD turns out. I will keep you in my prayers. Leecelove --sorry to hear that you are battling stress and depression. I wished you could get to a support group for real "one to one" interaction. Maybe if you contact a local support group they have someone that would be glad to pick you up and take you. It's worth a shot. You have nothing to lose by asking. Everyone else --have a great week! We are still in the game. Melissa Lea

Hey Everyone! It's been a while since I've been on the board. Barb --sorry to hear that your getting stuck with your band. I hope that you are able to get some of these issues resolved after the new year and your trips. Regina --hang in there. You will reach your goal. I think that I might finally be back on the losing side. I don't want to shout that out to loudly though incase my body hear's it. I even lost 1.5 pounds so far this week during my cycle which NEVER happens. I always gain several pounds of fluid. I can still feel the bloating and fluid so I am hoping for a great number at the end of the week. Well, I hope some of you check in before the Holiday next week. Can you believe that it's already next week?? Melissa Lea

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!! I hope everyone's day has been filled with plenty of friendly tricks and a few treats. This year --the "candy" hasn't been a problem like last year. I just decided not to buy any. I did have one small treat today at one of my offices. I was satisified with that. Pinky --I hope that your closing and move is going well. It's almost over !!! Have a great one! Melissa Lea

Hey everyone! Socalgal --you look awesome!! Keep up the great work. Also, very glad that the fires are staying at bay from where you live. Hopefully the air will clear out very soon. Barb12 --so sorry to hear of your brothers passing. And yes, I did go to the surgicenter for a fill. It's nice to be back on track. I am down about 6 pounds since then. WooHoo. But that was the 6 pounds I had gained the past several months. For the first time in a very long time, I am feeling very confident that I can do this. I will win this battle. Barb4 --sorry to hear of your sinus infection. Glad to hear you are on the mend. Pinky ---hang in there with the craziness of the move. It will be well worth it!!! Touch base when you get settled.
