  1. Actually I'm experiencing a similar thing - got a fill 2 weeks ago and everything was fine - in fact, I thought it wasn't filled enough.

    As of 2 days ago, nothing is going down and the evenings are a particular problem. I've gone back to liquids (since even mush doesn't go down too well) and will wait until I see the doctor next. It's odd, almost like the band has tightened itself.

    I'm currently experiencing the same exact thing. One moment I feel like I need a fill and the next I can't even drink Water. However, mine is usually triggered by Aunt Flo (that time of the month.) I'm about 14 months out have had about 3 or 4 emergency unfills and susequent re-fills due to this. I had an X-ray done 2 months ago that revealed everything was fine. My doc just said that the band can sometimes have a mind of its own. This is soooo...frustrating.


  2. I have between 10 and 11 cc in my 14 cc band currently. This is generally very good restriction for me. However, during TTM (that time of the month) I get so resticted I'm forced to go on a liquid diet. Otherwise, if I eat beyond a cup of food its all coming back up. One thing I do notice is that right after a workout I'm able to eat and drink pretty freely. I workout everyday and everyday is the same. I'm not sure why that is. I can chug a gallon of Water without any consequences during a good cardio workout but I wouldn't dare try it any other time. Any one else experience this?

  5. Hey bandster buddies! Sorry for playing Casper the friendly ghost for so long. But I’m pleased to announce that I am officially down 103 lbs! I’m sitting pretty at 256 (BMI 37.9) as of this morning with 86.5 more lbs til goal. Might I remind you I started this journey at a miserable 359 lbs (BMI 53). One of my short-term goals was to be 240’s-ish by Memorial day which is only less than 1 week away but I’m happy regardless of whether I make that or not. I’ll be flying to ATL that weekend to see family I haven’t seen in a while so I know they’ll be shocked to see the smaller me. I’ve been getting compliments left and right. I think the funniest ones come from my co-workers. One of men in my office just stared at me with a confused look on his face one day and said, “you’re a lot skinnier these days.” From others I get, “you’re wasting away!” One of my co-workers (who has had much gradual weight loss success herself through weight watchers) actually guessed my weight to be 210 lbs. I said “I wish, but not yet!” Guess I can attribute that to all the hours I’ve put in weight training. Pics soon to come...

  7. Just wondering how many cc's it took those with 11 cc bands to reach their sweet spots. I currently have 10.2 ccs and am not sure is I am there yet. I get still eat a fair amount until I'm full yet I have a tough time eating baked or grilled chicken (my favorite.) Will another fill put me over the top? I have yet to experience PBing and know for that I don't want to. Please share your own experiences so that I may gain some insight. Thanks!


  8. Congrats Laptalker! I have always found that watching my carbs and fat have helped me as well.

    I'm gonna put it out there - I didn't diet and still don't. With the Lapband I lost weight just by decreasing the amount of food I eat.

    But, I do recommend the low carb diet as I did this years ago and was successful until I moved somewhere that rice/pasta were staples...then I ballooned back up.

    (before someone scolds me - during this process I have stopped eating out so much and learned the joy of cooking. I eat chicken more than beef AND I make more nutritious choices)
