Good luck, I'm in the same boat as you, addictive personality, AA as well, clean since 1998, then the weight came. Watch the protein drinks so early, stay hydrated first, lots of clear fluids, -

Follow up from then,,,lost the 100lbs,then stopped going to the Dr. Started to overeat and had a bad slip in 2/2013. Removed band and went wild ,gained all my weight back. New band in Gainesville 1/14/14 and on my way again. Hope this time I stick with it... -
Normal, try laying on your side and walking helps too. My first band in 2008 and gas was real bad because I didn't know what it was.I didn't know to move and lay on my side. This time 1/14/14, my Dr tries to get all that air out because he knows how bad it can be.

Rebanded 1/14/14, feel pretty good about second time around. First time I went 4 years using the band properly, then I thought I could eat like other people, my mistake. Must remember I CAN'T eat like other people, First post op Dr. visit Monday 1/20/14. Thank you all for not letting me forget....I guess it's just "One Day at a Time" or "One Meal at a Time" -

Hi, I had my first band done by Dr Jawad in 8/08. Very good job. I live in Gainesville and started going to Dr.Sarantos. He is very nice. I had a bad slip last year, which was my fault, and Dr S. removed it. Tomorrow I'm having 2nd band put in. Hoping that being in Gainesville I can have better support. Dr Jawad is very good but I hated the drive to see him.

Going on 9 years- Sometimes I get SICK of Restriction! But....
Edward replied to NaNa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
First banded in 2008 and lost 100lbs. After 4 years I got lazy and started cheating, result=sick. I would force myself to get sick because of overeating, result= band slip. Small slip at first so Dr removed saline to 0 fill to heal but I felt free to eat more and I did. I should have done the pre surgery diet but I didn't. I kept eating getting sick over and over until the pain came. I had slipped so bad my stomach was like an hour glass. The band was removed 2/13. Gained all 100lbs back. Now going in again 1/14/14 for second band. I hope and pray I don't become lazy over time again and repeat this mistake. I must go to Dr appointments, must say on task. I am afraid that I will fall back on bad habits, That's my worst fear. The surgery and pain is nothing compared to fear of failure again. Anyone else been thru this....? Thx -
New person welcome?
Edward replied to *Misty*Raine*'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, 2nd timer here, 8/08 first band 2/13 removed 1/14/14 new band. Kind of nervous about 2nd failure. I wouldn't have changed anything, my band failure was my fault. -
I'm @ 8.25cc, finally restricted. Hard time telling difference of full and slightly stuck. I eat small amounts and have a new feeling like it's not going thru. Is this what it feels like to have your new stomach up higher in your lower chest ? If so? Great, because I eat very little at a time now. Before I could eat slowly and alot, now I can't, is this the sweet spot?

How many banders can eat bread without problems? How much and when?
Edward replied to coloradobanding's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Not very much bread for me. I'm at 8.25cc finnally having restriction. Question, having hard time knowing difference between full feeling and/or stuck?
