Looking for Expert Guidance and Wisdon
shackdog replied to Irish Girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes get out of bed it does nothing for you but take you down deeper. I am four weeks post op and I was there to until I dragged myself out and then the world got better, things went down easier also, the exercise did it for me. -
I was 411 preop and told I needed to loose 40 pounds, BMI of 51. I did the pre diet schedule my doc gave me and I lost 26lbs pre op, I am now three weeks out and down a total of 52lbs. I know it sounds crazy but you will need to loose the weight so the liver will shrink and then they can do the surgery. I to thought it would be inpossible for me to loose that much weight but because I did he did the surgery at 26lbs. It was to take 90min but only lasted 60. I know it sounds like mission inpossible but YOUCAN DO IT. I also thought if I could loose that kind of weight why should I get the band, but you know what? That is why I was so big, I faltered alot. I need a tool that will help me stay on course. Good luck, if you need any info you can email me at boiseman2001@yahoo.com

Hang in there, it will go the other way. Just remember to stay true to yourself and only eat what you are supposed to. When you fudge, two people already know that it happened, you and God. In my book that is two two many

I am four weeks out and I know what you are saying about the Water, I could float the titanic. I dont know why the Doc moved you to foods already but hey he's the doc we are not. I just wnt from liquids to musshie and this will be for two weeks. I have done everything you have but in my case, I lost 26lbs preop and now 26lbs post op. This is not the same for each person no matter what people say. Just stick with it and it will happen, eat the right foods, stay away from the things the Doc tells you, my rule of thumb is the same as others in some cases, just because they can eat it does not mean I can. I started a journal and I talk to my tummy all the time. I tell it "tummy" I wont put anything in you that I am not supposed to, but your committment to me is DO YOUR JOB and shrink. Also I got into a support group and I have a hughe support group around me. You can not do this alone, you were not met to. Reach out you will be supprised who answers back.

I actually hand carried all the reports to the Doc, or copies of them. This seemed to really speed up the process for me...Good luck
-
You should talk to your Doc about this, might be some fill needs to be taken out?
-
Good luck to you all from a Husker to now a Idaho Potato. I was banded on the 17th of April and would do it again in a heart beat. I have lost 52 lbs thus far and am on a track to loose many many more. Again welcome and good luck

I was banded on the 17th april, I have joined a support group here in Idaho and I can tell you age is not a factor here. What is it that you want to do and then go for it.....................................

3 weeks out and NOT LOSING WEIGHT ! hmmm
shackdog replied to kaybee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hang in there, I am three weeks out and now down 47lbs, I lost 12lbs in the last five days. I am very active up working in retail all day and then hitting the gym at night. It will happen , patience is goldennnnnnnnnnnn -
Its the choices that you are making, I dont have to sit here and tell you that. So what should you do? I think that this is a very hard answer and it is MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICES. Why do the bad at all if you are not going to stay focused and on target. I know that this is terrible to say but true. I would kill for food but the other side of the coin is that if I eat it I will go back to the size I have been all my life and this is not an acceptable trade. This I know will be for life and a struggle for life so get into a support group of people who will truly support you with encouragement.
-
I am just banded and down 47lbs, yes you can eat again in small quantities and its different for each person on what is ok and what is not. talk to your doc and see what he tells you and stick to his instructions, I have done this and three weeks out and I am ok,

Remember to stay positve and share with others

Staying positive is a major tool for others with struggles. I believe that if everyone tells it like it is and leaves off the wish I had done this or that then the rest would get the info they need to be a succuess. I pray for you all for major success on your journey to a new you.............
