  1. Very strange for the surgeon to be that way....are you already banded? If not couldn't you choose a doc that does fills? Besides calling around in your community to find a place to get your fills you could go to www.Fillcentersusa.com to see if there is a center within driving distance. Good luck. Mimi
  2. Congratulations!!!! You have done so well and are so much healthier in a short time. I wish you continued success!!!! Mimi
  3. Hang in there, you have an upbeat positive attitude and even if you gain a little you are going to do fine. I well remember that famished feeling, I went through it AGAIN a few weeks ago when I had a total unfill. Makes me appreciate even more what the band is doing for me!!!! Mimi
  4. First of all, you look amazing!!!!! I love the way when you bend over the rolls are gone. And your bewbies are not resting on your midriff which is so smooth now!!! There is air under them!!!! He did agreat job with your nibbles, too!!!! Thank you for your reassurance that even at 58 perky ones are OK>>>>> Keep healing and posting. I hope I heal as quickly!!!! Mimi
  5. It is often referred to as bandster hell....the time between surgery and restriction. I gained 12 pounds, so be careful to watch your calories and do exercise. Good luck with your upcoming appt, I hope they give you at least 5 cc fill as the new guidlines suggest. Mimi
  6. If tums works for me, that will be a miracle!!!! For me, barfing is the only relief. And that is gross and inconvenient. Mimi
  7. I am now wearing an 8-10 and wish I had kept my size 26 jeans...so yes, keep your big jeans. My thinking at the time was to get my closet empty of what didn't fit, but I could have put those jeans away in a drawer!!!! Mimi
  8. PS, have you been throwing up? I never heard of too much water causing it, sometimes they just slip and no one knows why. Please do not blame yourself, focus on the good that has happened. When will your doc check you again? Mimi
  9. It sounds like you had what is referred to as a slip. I am sorry. This resting of the pouch just may fix it, I will hope and pray that it does. It will be hard to control your appetite but try to eat as you have been doing to lose that great 50 pounds and maybe even increase your exercise some. Best wishes Mimi
  10. WOW, thanks for the warning!!!!! Mimi
  11. So sorry you had to unfill....what lead up to it? It happened to me a few weeks ago but I swelled up after a piece of meat got stuck and the swelling just wouldn't go away till I got an unfill. Good luck. Mimi
  12. I am so close to my goal that as Btrieger says, I did the math and I would have to cut back too many calories and increase my activity too much to lose faster than .5 to 1 pound a week. 2 pounds a week sounds wonderful to me. Yes, take a look at the big picture of a year equaling 104 pounds.....and that year is going to pass by! Mimi
  13. Congratulations, you are wonderful!!!! Mimi
  14. Dear Su59, yes, take a DEEP breath and exhale. There are many ppl who have lost a lot of wt as Btrieger said. In fact everything she says is always well thought out and accurate so I don't want to repeat it, but....if you have done your homework and work with your doc and nutritionist and follow the band rules you will do fine. I too was worried I would be a failure but have met my goal and am resetting it, too, and I am 8 years older than you!!! I think some ppl are "failures" because it is more comfortable to not change their eating patterns and may even be afraid of success. Keep posting and participating and welcome aboard. Mimi
  15. I have never hear of a Mid-Band, either. I have an AP 10cc band. Mimi
  16. Everything Sue Magoo said is what I say. We have both lived through it. Mimi
  17. Wow, Skinny, you are doing so well!!!! Good for you!!! Listen to Sue and don't over due it. I am so happy that the drains are out and you are feeling so well. I am eager to see the pictures. Reading about your decision for implants (flat on top) makes me re think whether I need the implants. Is it silly to be almost 60 with totally perky young bewbies? I don't know!!!! Thank you for your encouragement and all the information you are sharing. Mimi
  18. I feel your pain, LOL. I was totally unfilled a few weeks ago and the biggest regret I have is that I didn't eat a pizza while I could!!!! But even w/o the pizza I gained 9 pounds in 2 weeks so I should have had the pizza!!!! Mimi
  19. Trapped, isn't that weird about the no beans having more protein? They always say what a great source of protein beans are!!!! Mimi
  20. Melinco, you gave some great suggestions!!!! Mimi
  21. Wow, you are amazing!!!! I wish you continued success. Mimi
  22. I believe you need a small unfill. Call your doc ASAP. That is no way to live. Mimi
  23. Thanks for the advice, Skinny. I think I will get the recliner especially for the TT which isn't til March. Bewbies and arms in January, then TT in March. Doc wouldn't do all 3 at the same time. This way if I decide I want implants after the mastopexy/lift, I can get them in March with the TT. It is more economical to get them in Jan when I have the lift, but I just can't make up my mind!!!!! I am not morally opposed to implants, LOL, I just don't know if I will need them. I don't mind being a B and I wouldn't want to be bigger than a C.....and I am 58!! I do have a friend coming to stay for 2 weeks each time, I am lucky because w/o her help I couldn't do this. Mimi
