  1. Thanks for the replies. I will call my doc and see what they say. They will probably do an unfill.
  2. I gained 5 lbs in the 6 weeks from surgery to fill.
  3. hey, I just posted a very similar post. Look under HELP/advice needed... I am in the same boat except I have lost 20 lbs in 3 months! I was banded on 8/28/09 and have slowly lost 20 lbs. I got my 2nd fill yesterday and I think it's a) either too tight or  this thing is just starting to actually work! Let's both hang in there and see how it goes.
  4. I got my first fill 6 weeks ago. 3cc's. not sure how large my band is, I have the realize band. Everything was ok, I could tolerate pretty much anything. I haven't lost much weight in those 6 weeks, only 5 lbs. Now, yesterday I got my second fill, an additional 1.5 cc's. I cannot eat ANYthing. I tried to eat a little chicken today and I thought I was going to DIE. For about 20 minutes I thought I really was going to DIE. I kept spitting up, exteme pain, finally I threw up. Now, 2 hours later I just feel terrible. Really horrible physically. Did I mess up my band by throwing up? Do I need to go back for an unfill? Any advice would be appreciated. I'm a little freaked out.

  6. I am so glad I found this thread. I was/am getting so very frustrated. I am 5 weeks post op and I have 1 more week to go until my first fill and have gained 7 of the 8 lbs that I lost pre-op! After reading more of the replies, I'm not too confident that the first fill will be the be-all-end-all. Do most people lose a lot after the first fill? I'm not hopeful and very disenchanted with the whole thing. I wish I did gastric.:tongue2:
  7. My doc says these 6 weeks after surgery are for healing, not weight loss. He wants me to do mushies and get in the good habits of eating less, no sodas, etc but according to him, I will be able to tolerate everything just fine. He said "it's all me" until I get my fill and "allow the band to start working". These days post op are for healing. He said that the band is attached in place with metal staple like things and it's not going anywhere. Kimo, don't sweat it. When you get your fill you will start seeing the band working.
  8. Weird, I just got back from my 2 week post op check up and I am feeling down. I only have lost 8 lbs. and they say it's because I'm not walking 30 minutes a day. I am doing everything by the book and apparently that's the only thing that's keeping me from the "usual 14 lb" loss. Thoughts??
  9. Ditto to Lacey's post. I had no trouble at all. I was banded on Aug 28 at 7am and went home later that afternoon. I went back to work yesterday. I'm so sorry to hear of your ordeal. I hope you are doing better now!!
  10. I am 3 days post op, too and am having tons of gas and my stomach is making some very funky noises. Also I am having diarrahea. Other than that things are going along ok.
  11. I'm getting banded Friday, too! I'm excited! It's good to hear that 48Cyns went through it and came out ok!
  12. I cannot have more than 20 grams a day! eek! It's been going pretty good, though. Salads, bacon/eggs etc.. Nothing like what the liquid folks are going through. ; )
  13. I am getting the Realize band August 28th in Atlanta. My doc has placed me on a 2 week low carb diet. No liquids. Is this because of teh Realize band? ANyone else??
