Are you on a pre-op diet? I started all liquids on Wednesday. I've been good, but my insides are another story

I only have to do four (4) days of liquid protein, 50 or more a day, first two (2) days protein mix and second two (2) clear protein. I start mine Monday! Urgh!!

Started my liquid protein diet today, three (3) more days!!!

the liquid diet has been going ok for me.......i think its all a head game anyway......how much do you weigh now? what are your goals....

I'm 31, M, and weigh today about 296...i'm down about 15 lbs in the last few weeks....i hit about 350 in college...

I have sleep apnea, atrial fib...and my varicose veins in my legs are nasty that its hard to wear shorts....

i cant wait for thursday....

I was banded on 8-17-09, and i've lost 12lbs. My doctor told me in the beginning with the lap band that most people only lose about 70 to 80 pds max. Just wondering why you chose to have the lap band, instead of bypass or the sleeve. I.ve had no problems, want go to the doctor until 9-17-09, i guess they will give me my first fill. I know some people dont even get a fill, until much later. Good luck.

Aug. 28th is my date as well. Starting to get a little nervous. I've even been telling myself I shouldn't do it because I will not be able to pigg out like I'm used to doing. But I have waited about a year to get approved and I'll not going to let anything make me lose focus.

I am 5 days into my liquid diet. I was placed on a 7 day liquid diet. I would say, after about 3 days, I no longer had any cravings or hunger. I have been totally faithful to my diet and I'm too far to turn back now.

Good luck everyone, we are experiencing a life changing event together. For me, no more roller coaster weight loss. Overweight will be Gone once and for all.

I was just banded yesterday and got to come home today. The whole process was just a breeze and I am feeling wonderful only one day out. The pain is minimal!

I am being banded in two hours.....I am so nervous and scared. I hate surgery and have a low tolerance to pain medications....pray for me please!

I know what you mean about being nervous. I wish I could say I have been as faithful to my liquid diet as you have been. I went and had sushi last night :-( Well, they keep saying, "you won't be able to eat rice anymore" bla bla bla, I figured one last time for something I LOVE!! Good Luck to YOU!!!

I'm getting banded Friday, too! I'm excited! It's good to hear that 48Cyns went through it and came out ok!

I was banded yesterday, Aug. 28. I kept reading on here about different people's experiences, "It's a breeze...a piece of cake...it went so smoothly". I would describe my experience as brutal. One of the worst days of my life. They found a 5" hiatal hernia in my stomach which had to be repaired first. I was not allowed to drink Water for 20 hours. When I woke up, the first thing I said was "water". They said, "You can't have water until you do the barium swallow and they won't do that for another 2-3 hours." I looked at the clock, it said 10:00 a.m. I thought "I can't make it until noon or 1:00 without an ice chip or sip of water." My mouth felt like cotton. I got very dizzy, light-headed over the next few hours. I was getting so dehydrated that I was looking forward to drinking the barium! They finally came for me at 2:00. I couldn't wait to get back to my room and drink some water, but they said, "No, we have to wait for the results." My sweet little preacher husband started yelling at the nurses around 2:30...3:00...3:30. I wasn't allowed to drink after 8:00 p.m. the night before. It was getting inhuman. In all of the yelling, I think he let a few bad words slip out of his mouth! The results came back at 4:00. I finally got to drink wonderful ice water. I also got a 3rd bag of intraveneous Fluid for my severe dehydration.

After the 3rd bag of fluid, some morphine, & some sleep, I felt wonderful around 2:00 a.m. I am now home & everything is fine. I don't know how people who get this procedure as day-surgery cope. It took my body 24 hours to settle down.
