  1. It might take a couple more adjustments to get your restriction where you want it. Hang in there and try to do regular dieting and exercise til you get to restriction. Good luck, Mimi
  2. I was 7 weeks post op when I got mine. Mimi
  3. Counting down the hours, Princess!!!!! Good luck!!!! Mimi
  4. Age associated sluggish metabolism is a huge proble. When I was 20 something and this same wt I didn't have all this excess skin and flab....I miss those days. I do the tradmill 2-3 times a week, usually 4 miles or more Sunday morning and I have a Personal Trainer 3 days a week for an hour of wt training and core work and cardio. I am worried about what will happen to my muscles and wt when I have to stop exercising in January because of a series of plastic surgeries and recoveries. It is for sure harder to be older on this journey!!!! How about you, do you exercise and diet? I try to eat a balanced diet while staying at or below 1200 calories. I make sure I get enough calcium and vitamins but I do fall short on protein intake. It (the hard proteins) fills me up fast like it is supposed to, though. I had a tiny fill last week taking me to 6.25 ml and I am finally having restriction and have to do everything very slowly or else!!!!! I am drinking enough and have no issues with fluids so I am thinking this may be my sweet spot for a while!!!! How are your fills? Mimi
  5. Hi, Allie!!! I, too, am sorry your drains aren't coming out but the pain pump idea sounds wonderful. Thanks for telling about your first shower, I will make sure my friend is nearby for my showers......we are going to get real personal, LOL. Working around the compression garment worries me so thanks for the warning. I will have my gameplan in mind. Rest up and heal quickly. Mimi
  6. LOL, I am not going to be much help, either. I have the Lap-Band and a close friend has the Realize Band and we are both happy. My surgeon did the same thing to me....left it up to me and it was hard to decide. There are already several threads on this subject if you use the search function you will get lots of info. Best wishes, Mimi
  7. I told everybody!!!!!! And I admit there are days I wish I hadn't, but overall it has been a positive experience. My experiences have helped educate a lot of ppl and they can see that I have lowered my food intake and increased my exercise so they know that while the band is helping, ultimately it is my hard work that is succeeding. Go with your gut, if it says don't tell then don't tell. Best wishes, Mimi
  8. Yes, pick your general category and make a new post!! Welcome and congratulations on your long term success. Mimi
  9. I feel your pain and sadness. I am almost 14 months out and can eat about 4 bites at a time of very tender filet mignon. A Longhorn Flo's Filet lasts me about 3-4 meals, which is good economics, but my mouth head and eyes want MORE at one time!!!! Steak and Pizza are what I miss most. Mimi
  10. I, too, am sorry. They should have told you their stinking rules!!!! Mimi
  11. Vicky thank you for all the pictures. You don't even look like the same person. Your results are spectacular, congratulations!!!! You are beautiful. Mimi
  12. I don't think I was on your social thread but I was banded 10/07/08 and have done fairly well, not spectacularly like some, but good for me. You have done well, too. Mimi
  13. Hi, Allie!! Thanks for posting. I, too, am sorry about your UTI....I had one once and still remember the pain. You look so very tiny in your post op pictures. I am eager to see tonight's pictures. Hang in there, Mimi
  14. I think that you are so close that if you stop losing, that is the right place to try to maintain. Most of us have spent our lives gaining or losing but not maintaining. I have decided that when the calories I am not willing to go below and the exercise I am not willing to go above match and I stop losing, that will be my goal wt for maintenance. I am scared though of not being able to maintain. Best wishes Mimi
  15. I am glad you got a small unfill and are feeling better. It is a miserable feeling to be so swollen not even your saliva will go down. Mimi
  16. I am not surprised you ran a little fever, with all you did!!! Actually that indicates a good and resilient immune system, which is wonderful. That is wonderful that you are almost upright, yay for being in such good physical shape!!!! Is it easier getting in and out of the chair? Mimi
  17. Congratulations on your decision to get banded and your upcoming surgery. You picked a tough time of year to do it!!!! I am sure you will do fine, keep reading and posting for support. Mimi
  18. I noticed this thread because I am burping a lot since my fill 5 days ago!!!! It is very strange, but this thread made me feel better. Mimi
  19. Diana, are you out there? I am glad you called your doc and he is willing to help you today if necessary. Mimi
  20. Yes, Skinny, just relax and enjoy your book. I am glad you love your Mom, flaws and all. She stepped up to help you and that is super. I wear my Mom's wedding ring set and every time I move my hands they clink together and remind me of her. She would be proud of my wt loss as yours is of yours. Mimi
  21. Good question Pat!!!! I am coloring my hair lighter and standing up straighter. I am wearing bolder jewelry and accepting compliments with a simple "Thank you". Now how about you?
  22. I am glad you got quick care. I want a low profile port and my scar tissue removed but am afraid the scarring will just come back!!! Mimi
  23. Most likely your stomach swelled in response to the vomitting causing the band to tighten. You need to call for an unfill tonight if you are not keeping fluid down. You can dehydrate rapidly and get into serious trouble. Mimi
  24. My port bothers me the most when I am working out on the stability ball and putting pressure on it, other than that situps and stretches don't bother me. I must admit that it was 6-8 wks post op before I could do crunches and situps and stretches. My port is on my right side about 2 inches above and to the right of the belly button right on the midriff. Mimi
