Hard lump under incision - 22 mos post-op
You are welcome...by the way I forgot to say that your port will seem to be in a different location depending if you are sitting, standing, or lying down...probably not so much because the port has moved but more because the skin has changed in texture and thickness. Best wishes, Mimi

Hard lump under incision - 22 mos post-op
It is most likely scar tissue. It is nothing to worry about as far as causing problems. Mine got so big it looked like an alien erupting from my midriff and I had my port moved and changed to a smaller low profile port a few hours ago. It is not your band, for sure. Mimi

Lellow and the Torso Lift
Congratulations!!!!! I am glad it is done and you are happy. You have been through a lot and deserve it. Is your doc having you massage them several times a day? Mimi

No extended release meds ever?
I just found the Cymbalta answer in the Professional prescribing information on Cymbalta.com. It specifically said NOT to take it apart and NOT to use in cases of delayed Gastric emptying. Mimi

No extended release meds ever?
I don't know about Cymbalta yet but Effexor XR and Nexiuum both specifically say they can be taken apart and the granules taken orally. I ran out of time researching Cymbalta, but call your Pharmacist and discuss it. Maybe you could be changed to Effexor XR if Cymbalta is not the best med for you. Best wishes, Mimi

Too tight?
I am sorry you are suffering, I have been there many times. Since tomorrow is Friday please call the office if you aren't any better. What started out as mild swelling has turned into major swelling from barfing so much. Try to rest your tummy for tonight and start out with a popsicle then warm tea by the spponful in the morning. Best wishes, Mimi PS: Please post your status as things evolve.

No extended release meds ever?
Well, it depends on whether it is a tablet or capsule and how much restriction you have. There is a good chance that once you have restriction of any degree you canNOT take those kind of tablets. Capsules may be another story. There are a number of time release meds in capsules that can be opened and swallowed with applesauce, pudding, etc. I take Effexor XR capsules and that is how I take them. What med concerns you? Mimi

First fill a no go!
It sounds like a seroma...I can't explain it very well, but many ppl here have had one for different reasons. I think if you search engine it you can find a good explanation. I do not think it is anything to worry about. Good luck with your next fill attempt. Mimi

Were you at goal when you had your TT?
I had mine when I was down to my first goal which turned out to not be my lowest wt. I wish I had waited. PLEASE make sure your PS is really going to do the muscle tightening...mine didn't and I am still mad. Also it is the bst time to get your port changed over to a low profile and get it moved if desired. Keep posting your journey and congratulations on your losses. Mimi

Muscle Milk?
I agree with BamBam. I read the article a few times and have come to the same conclusion. We ingest many things we don't know about but I think as long as we keep our fluid intake high we can flush a lot of these things through fairly quickly. I, too, experienced anxiety when I read the article and didn't buy any MM the other day when I was going to. Maybe CR will run a follow up and find that the companies fixed the problem...I will watch for such an article. Mimi

What could it be?
AZPete I hope you are OK...I have had 2 small unfills for the same symptoms of reflux, etc and I throw up a lot so am always hungry. Enter stage left...slider food like milkshakes, ice cream, etc. I am up 7 pounds and I hate it!!!! Good luck, Mimi

Personal Trainer
I cut back on many things to have a Personal Trainer (PT) and I have NO regrets. Starting sooner rather than later helps keep motivation strong. The weekly measuring and weigh ins helped keep me on the path to success. Now that I am at maintenance I am going to drop to twice a week with the PT and do my treadmill three times a week. I wish you well and hope you can find a PT as great as mine. Mimi

Loose Skin?
I feel your pain, even though I only lost half your wt. I have had the arms, boobs, and tummy done and am going to a consult for thighs in a few weeks. I wish I had gone about things differently as far as planning, though. Please try to find a bariatric Plastic Surgeon to consult with now so you can have a plan and know the costs. I had no idea (and my LB practice was no help) that my town had a specialist in body contouring after massive wt loss. I wouldn't have done things piece meal as I have done. Make no mistake...you will trade that loose jiggly wobbly skin pockets for a trim figure....but you will have scars for a couple of years. The journey is long and hard and thin ppl don't understand that the reconstruction is for US, not the world!!! I wish you the best and hope you keep posting your wonderful progress. Mimi
