    surgeon not doing lapband now

Cindy C has a huge point....if she is doing that many removals she isn't putting them in correctly or the aftercare sucks majorly.......or there is big money in yanking them out!!!! I so wish you the best...I couldn't keep my wt down without the band...and lots of exercise, LOL!!! Mimi
  6. Yippee!!!!! You have done well!! I can relate to getting on and off the scale a few times, LOL!!! Mimi

Yes, call NOW!!!! It is a Holiday weekend and if you end up in the ER they will empty you completely!!! This way they may just take out a little bit!!! Mimi
  10. I understand!!!! Since my last fill adjustment I can only chug 3 times before I am forced to stop and let it go down. And being able to chug more probably means I need a fill...... Mimi

    Pasta

If you are one of the lucky ones that can eat pasta, go for it...of course whole wheat cardboard, I mean pasta is better for you, but unless you get issues from a food it is good to get nutrition from all of the food groups...and the sauce with tuna was an outstanding nutritional choice. Just measure the pasta and keep it to a normal serving size. Mimi

    Restriction is on and off

It just sounds like carbs begets carb cravings and no your band didn't slip....the granola must be one of your slider foods. If going overboard happens again, just don't bring it into your life.....I can sympathize and tell you I have similar issues...I can't have any carbs in the house or I eat them all in one evening. Congratulations on your magnificent wt loss!!! Best wishes, Mimi

    Pasta

Wow, you are being very hard on yourself,,,,you ate nutritiously and not high calorie so please stop beating yourself up!!!! Unless you are on a liquid diet...then spank yourself, otherwise carry on!!! What do you think was wrong with what you ate? Mimi

4 ccs in Band / So confused!

I think ppl didn't post because they were at work or didn't want to hurt your feelings. The story and the facts don't match human anatomy and physiology. You might want to think about journalling and weighing and measuring your food. Mimi

    Goal weight

I think you have the potential to be 145 or less!!! I am wondering if he set it so high so you could attain it then re-evaluate and choose a new goal. I have changed my goal many many times during this journey. I think it important to not only attain a goal but go through and maintain that weight for a while. I am 5'0" and my current goal is 116.....I know I can get there but don't know if I can commit to maintaining it....that is why this whole thing is a journey!!!! I wish you the best and keep posting. Mimi

Anybody Jog as Slow as I Do?

I, too, think you are early in your journey and need to be kind to your knees and joints....maybe your goal could be adjusted to FINISHING the 5K instead of doing it in such a short time. I admire you for even starting this process and wish you the best of luck. There will always be more races and you can increase your goals each time!!! Mimi

    Poor Endoscopy results

Short term use of PPI's is fine. I can't type worth a hoot but if you search the net you should find some reading. Mine came from a medical journal. There is always the risk benefit ratio and you sound like PPI's are what you need. Good luck on your journey. Mimi

    Poor Endoscopy results

If your issues were caused by H. Pylori then you have a good chance of being cured with all the meds you are taking then can procede with banding....personally I would give more weight to the GI doc's advice because he has no horse in the race like the band doctor has. There is recent evidence that long term use of Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPI's) like Prilosec can cause other problems so if you are having reflux after all this treatment I would delay banding. Best wishes and post updates for us. Mimi

    Unfill to see...

Hi, Kim, you have a great attitude and will continue to do well, if not sooner, than definitely later!!! I hope your sinuses get better soon and is the root of your problem. Mimi
  23. When you are ready you will do it...you have proved that you have what it takes. I think this plateau is OK and even good for you. I highly recommend a personal trainer.....my 6 wk committment has turned into 2 and a half journey and I love my trainer. She keeps changing things and making exercise interesting. I train at home and don't have to feel self conscious in a public gym. 2 pounds a week is slower than you want but is healthy....since your wt is stable your intake and output mtch so modest increases in activity and calorie reduction will start your loss all over again. Congratulations and best wishes. Mimi
