  1. I live in Denver, Colorado and I am a former patient of Dr. Kirshenbaum. I have seen several recommendations regarding the Dr.'s who are open to seeing Dr. K's patients. Currently, I have found Dr.'s Metz, Weaver and Georgescu. Is there anyone that knows the procedures that the above Dr.'s use. Example add Fluid, patient drink Water, and depending on the flow, either add or remove additional fluid. Thank you.
  2. It has been a looong time. How are you doing? I haven't been on here in ages. I see that you have been having trouble, I hope things are looking up. Me, not too bad, been a busy summer with one daughter in a nasty divorce, and two others getting married within 2 weeks of each other. I made it thru all three, now maybe it will settle down a bit. Since receiving my letter informing of Kirshenbaum's retirement, I thought I should see what is said about Dr. Metz. I have heard and read a lot of good things about him. So when they do a fill, do they do the trick of adding, drinking, and then either adding or removing more, all with one needle, I have heard that some Dr.'s will add a small amount and not have you drink anything. Anyway I go tomorrow for my last visit with Tom and will then be transferring to Dr. Metz. I will keep better in touch with you....Thanks for the advice.
  3. Can anyone explain what Dr. Metz's procedure is for fills? Does he use ultra sound, etc.? Thanks!
  4. Julie I hope that everything is ok with your band. I feel for you. Good luck next week.
  5. Wow, that sounds almost identical to my situation. I too have had numerous tests done (ctscan, upper gi, tube down the throat, xrays, blood work, etc.) and they can't find anything wrong. I had my surgery 7/3/08, and the pains started on 12/18/08. It began feeling like cramps, (no burning) and since I had my monthly guest I thought great after 30 years this is going to start again. But it returned within a couple weeks, and now is an everyday situation. Sometimes I am able to eat and actually have it stay down. Usually about 15 to 30 minutes after eating I will need to get rid of some of what I ate. I think I will try the pineapple thing too. Thanks for all the input.
  6. Who is coming to Red Robin on Thursday, June 11th? PATTY will be there!! I will be there on the 11th. For some reason I was thinking it was on the 10th (that night I can't be there)
  7. Is there anyone that can tell me where and what the pain is when you are too tight? Lately I have been having pains after I eat. They start around my lower left back and wraps part way around to the front. It doesn't matter what or when I eat. It has gotten worse over time. Shortly after eating it starts and hurts like HELL:scared2:. If I can make it come back up then I am fine. Last night I wasn't even able to eat yogurt. I have been to my primary doc and have had several tests done but they find nothing, and say the band is in good position.

    Pain in lower back

From the scans already taken, the band is in "optimal position". That was great news, since it was my first concern that the band had slipped. Actually, it didn't take but a time or two to realize that I had to change my eating habits, chewing, portions, bite sizes, etc. It is strange, I ate a granola bar this morning and the pain was horrible. This evening I had some steak at supper time and no pain. It doesn't matter what or when, it has a mind of its own on when it wants to strike. In several weeks I will have go in for a EGD. Can't say that I am looking forward to it. I also have an appointment with my band surgeon next week, think I will pick his brain on what he thinks also.

    Pain in lower back

Hi! I was banded July 2008, everything is going great except, the last few months (since December) I have had this horrible pain (after I eat) that goes from my left lower back to the the left lower abdomin (sp). I have been going to the Dr., had a CT, Upper GI, xrays, blood work, etc. At first he thought it was kidney stones, then diverteculitas (sp) and now am to go see a specialist. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

    Pain in lower back

Yep, only after I eat, but then not every time.
  14. Julie: I haven't been on for a long time, so it has taken me better than a couple hours to get caught up. I am so sorry to hear that you are having such a crappy time. I'm sure that you will be able to sort thru your insurance benefits better than any of the customer service reps you can get on the phonem maybe you will find a little golden nugget.
  15. Marie, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I will be praying for you and your family.
  16. Checking in late (again) for the V-Day challenge. Please put me down for a -0.4lb.
  17. Wow, that was great. If I hadn't already had my band, you would have sold me. Well done.
  18. Dee, put me down for a +1 for this weeks weigh in. That TOM must be haunting a lot of this this week.
  19. This is to all you wise bandsters. For the last 6 weeks I have been having this horrible pain that goes from my left lower back around to my abdomin (sp). At first I thought it was just cramps (even tho I haven't had them in years). It was once every few days, then every couple, then daily. It seems to happen after I have ate, doesn't matter what or how much. I have gone to the Dr. he thought it was kidney stones, had xray, bloodwork, CT scan and they all show nothing, now I am scheduled for an Upper GI on Friday. Just wondering if anyone else had these symptoms?
  20. Sorry I'm late posting, please put me down for -2.6 for this week. Good going everyone.:cheated:
  21. Congratulations to all of you who have lost. Put me down for a gain of 1.9 lbs.
  22. Sounds good too me. I'm pretty flexible, just let us know works best for everyone else.
  23. Congratulations to everyone, you are all doing awesome:tongue2:. I am -2 this week, I was a little concerned in the middle of the week when I was up 2.
  24. I love Biggest Loser! I was so happy to see Michelle win the last season! I did NOT want that Vicki to win! She was such a game player and was only there for the money! I didn't like her! (sorry I hope others aren't offended by my comment!) I agree with you. I didn't think Vicki was all that bad at the beginning, but then she started talking revenge. Please post the shake you had.
  25. Maybe we should suggest that to some of the distributors, I would be willing to pay a reasonable amount to be able to try before I buy, because most of them do taste pretty bad. I have the beneprotein, I tried to mix it in with a drink, it made it cloudy, the smell was awful, so I ended up dumping it down the drain. Now it does go in your protein bars nicely. I have some in small packets if you would like to try some. Let me know you address and I will mail you a few. Yep I have always thought that Bob was a little on the gay side. I do love him, and I think that is why I probably like him so much. I would much rather train with him (even tho he was a little tough Tuesday nite) than Jillian anyday.
