Spoke to the Bariatric office today and advised them of my situation.
I was advised to take the Protonix 40mg 2x a day instead of just 1x a day.
I really hope this helps. I did not experience major reflux until the VSG procedure.
Do not regret having it done but hate this reflux.

I had VSG back in June of this year and at first I thought the acid reflux was going to be a temporary thing.
Unfortunately the acid reflux is awful, I am on RX medication for it that is not working and nothing seems to be helping at all with it.
Has anyone else had major acid reflux and found anything to help with it. I guess I will be sending a message to my doctor regarding this to see what can be done.
TIA.

It does get better - I am little over 30 days post op and my energy is thru the roof.
Give it time - you are still healing.

I was prescribed Pantoprazole before surgery (after my endoscopy) and after my VSG for 30 days.
I was advised I will probably not need it 30 days after my VSG but I beg to differ. I forgot to take it one day before work and boy did I feel the acid bubbling.
Any suggestions on the best OTC acid blockers - just in case they do not refill my prescription - just thinking ahead.
Thanks

I am in the soft food stage and bought some Roasted Garlic Hummus but have no idea what to eat with it.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks
Revision from VSG to Bypass
in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums

I went for my EGD last week due to all the GERD I have been experiencing for over 5 months which has got worse and no OTC or RX medication is touching it.
Results of EGD: - Localized mild inflammation characterized by erythema and linear erosions was found in the prepyloric region of the
stomach. Moderate bile reflux into sleeve. Chronic Gastritis.
Doctor has me on RX Pepcid and I see him in 6 weeks to discuss revision to Bypass.
Personally I wish I would have went with the bypass instead of the sleeve when I had my WLS.
How was everyone's experience who had the revision to bypass that experience GERD. Was it gone after?
