    How often do you PB?

I've PB'd 3 times. It has been 6-10 days after a fill. Twice I couldn't recover and had to go in for unfills. By recover I mean move from a few sips of liquids to anything else. The third time I was able to recover from it after several hours and the fill was OK.

Sorry to hear about the PBs. Melissa it is really shocking when you know that you ate something too fast and that feeling that overcomes you. We just can't get away with it anymore. Lisa, you are relearning after every fill. Sounds like you are naturally super tight which may or may not be a good thing. I'm really careful with greens as I can visualize them getting stuck. I look for anything that could cover that opening to the stomach and back it up. I think throwing up 2 times a week is 2 times too many. If you can't get that under control I would get an slight unfill. You can do more damage than good. Examine what is causing the PBs. If you are not at fault, then an unfill is in order. I go this afternoon. I'm going to get .3 and I'm a little nervous. I have no problems with the band so this always makes me apprehensive. I think because it is so close to the cruise I am more nervous. I don't react to fills right away so I don't want to be in trouble days from now. Went home last night and DH had finished the decorating. The house looks really great. The maids don't come for another week so the house isn't as clean as I would like. I'll take pictures before our open house on the 10th.

Glad to hear everyone survived Thanksgiving. That is the one holiday where its all about food. Hopefully, we all know how to handle ourselves and get throught the rest of the holidays without guilt or feeling deprived. I go for another fill tomorrow and start my liquids/mushies for 6 days one more time. Getting fills are getting tiring, but we must do it. I still can eat way too much and do get hungry. I just get so nervous before I get one since I have such relative ease with the band unless I get overfilled. If I get overfilled I just can't seem to recover from it. Here's hoping this gives me restriction without issues. I wish I could make bows!! I found my beautiful Radko door swag that had been packed away since we moved. It fits beautifully in this house, but its ribbon could use some work. It is wire ribbon so I've made do, but it would be so much nicer with a new ribbon. I'll get one of my friends to make me a new one after the holidays. I'm still cleaning out my closet. I'm holding on to clothes I will never wear, but the thoughts of getting rid of them is too much. I'm going to put them in a box and out to the garage. Most of the good stuff is out of the closet and what remains are tees that are just too big. I keep thinking I will wear them, but I know I won't because the bottoms are stretched where I had a big tummy. I plan on spending some time in there tonight and getting rid of some more. Like my fills I take small steps!!! I have no idea what I'm taking on this cruise in 26 days. I am hoping to lose another 7 lbs before we take off. I have enought to get by and I really don't want to buy more. I've bought a few outfits and a new bathing suite. I'm trying to pysch myself up to wearing the same outfit twice. Busy at work today so I'd better get back to it. Have a good day.

    Divorce

I'd stay in the master. Let him go to the other bedroom or better yet a hotel. He is trying to get to you. Don't let him. He wants to be in control and he wants all the sympathy from everyone. He will be buoyed up by his weekend away and ready to do battle. Just don't give in. He really needs to leave until things are settled. You need temporary support. I would give him $3 worth of TP which is his fourth. He is being for imature. Hang in there. I'm afraid it is going to get worse before it gets better.

WooHoo what's all this good news? Cathy I knew it would be a fun day if you let it. I'm so glad you are able to enjoy him. Just go with it and see where it goes. If nothing else, its always good for your morale. PinkyLee those are some awesome NSV's. Look at the band as a tool, one we badly need. It's OK to have it. Sounds like you made some major progress this Thanksgiving. Tread lightly with the in-laws, but be open to the friendship. Maybe you can find a happy compromise with them. I did pretty good over the holiday. I was able to eat stuffing and candied yams. I didn't eat lots, but was surprised that I could do it. It took me 3 days to eat a yeast roll. At dinner each night I would eat a little bit of it and finally finished the roll last night. Most of the decorating is done. Its down to the cleanup and last minute stuff. I need to go have a massage as my body hurts everywhere. I think it will be a relaxing day today as I have to return to work tomorrow. Most of my projects are in critical states so the next few weeks will be hectic for me. Hope everyone is doing well. Going to get my fill on Tuesday so maybe I can lose a few pounds this month.

    Popcorn--why stay away???

Its dry and can get stuck. Some bandsters eat it with no trouble, but I've stayed away from it. I don't think its a very good choice of food to try and eat.

Cathy stop that this instant!!!! You are a catch at any weight. You are a beautiful person, inside and out. Damn straight he's attracted to you. Don't put your life on hold until .... or you wake up one day and until is gone away. Off my soapbox now. Have fun with it. I've only been married 2 years and my DH fell in love with me fat. He wasn't into big women, but he saw me for me. I'm worth it and he's damn lucky to have me too. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving day. Have fun tomorrow Cathy.

Good luck with the fill Melisa. I hope this one goes well. Glad to hear that you didn't lose any of the fill. I'll be joining you on Tuesday. I think I'll just get .3 which is about as aggressive as I get. House is in total disarray from decorating. I'm going to finish our bedroom tree today. That's my goal anyway. DH and I went to Garden Ridge yesterday. What an absolute zoo. Everyone trying to leave town or coming into town as the traffic was horrific. I'm so glad we didn't have to travel this holiday. It was fun though and we picked up quite a few last minute decorations. Now let's see if I can make them look good! Have a wonderful turkey day everyone. Enjoy, but don't eat too much.

    Divorce

Just enjoy the 4 days. Think of it as a wonderful R&R weekend. After all you have been through this is just a perfect time to recharge your batteries. The reality is that if you had gone you would be under so much stress and ridicule that it would have been awful. Learn to enjoy the alone time. It can be very healing. Don't be sad. This is the beginning of a new life. Embrace it. You should enjoy this time. Remember not all families are having Halmark moments today. There are many who wish they were alone instead of being with those that bring them down. We are here for you. You can use this time to recharge and recomit to yourself, or you can choose to be sad and lonely. I know you will make the right choice. Have a great restful 4 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone. Went shopping in my alternate and found a pair of jeans that fit. It's fun sometimes going to that closet. I ordered a few pairs of slacks yesterday so maybe I'll have something to wear that fits in a few weeks. I imagine that may be too small if delivered today. We received the flocked tree we ordered yesterday. It is beautiful. We set in up last night and I built the topper for it. The new trend this year is to take decorative branches of stuff and stick them in the top of the tree. It turned out really well and I'm pleased with the results. Now we need to decorate it. This is my "fairy" tree so it will be filled with Mark Roberts fairies. I put an additional 100 lights on the tree in the bedroom, but it was not enough. One more set should do it. I'm taking the afternoon off and going shopping. I need a few more things to finish my decorating and I don't want to fight the crowds over the weekend. I am having fun. Last night I ate a whole piece of pizza, including the crust. It was soooo good. I really felt full after I ate it. It had lots of meet on it and we added some onion, pepper, and mushrooms. It kept me full all evening. Most of you are probably getting ready to travel or be invaded by family and friends. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Don't feel guilty about anything you eat. Just go with it and enjoy. May you all be PB and slime free this Thanksgiving day!!!
  12. When I woke up from the surgery I was hungry. I evidently had little swelling and remained hungry until I moved to solid foods. Please follow your doctor's instructions and don't cheat during this phase. Get some fear and keep to the rules. Eating solids when you are supposed to be on liquids is not a good thing. After surgery the stomach needs time to heal and the area surrounding it needs to get used to the sutures holding the band. Eating foods, especially forbidden ones, can aggravate the situation and cause you problems. Fills can be a whole different ballgame. Solids you can eat before, may not be tollerated after a fill. Asking for an aggressive fill might not be in your best interest. I had a smooth recovery, little swelling, yet when I started with fills I was surprised. The first fill caused me to PB 5 days afterwards. I had to go have some taken out. The second fill I reacted about 10 days afterwards. I've since learned that my body can not tolerate large fills and I must go in the .2 or .3 steps. During the healing time, which is where you are now, you should try to get your liquids in, get 60 g of Protein through shakes, etc., and snack on Jello, yogurt, SF pudding, etc. Once you move to mushies you can have foods that offer a bit more bulk, like creamed soups, mashed potatoes. Once you are on solid foods, chew, chew, chew. Put your portions on a smaller plate and don't eat beyond the portioned amount. Eat slowly. Relax and get to know your band. Eat as if there is restriction and stay afraid of what might happen. You will be less likely to try and eat around the band if you have a good dose of fear of the consequences.

All Of A Sudden Im Anemic

I had prenecious (sp) anemia diagnosed in 1999. It was caused by ????, but my immune system started going haywire. I now take B12 shots for this. I also developed fibrolmalgia, shingles, thryroid, etc. Sometimes anemia is the trigger for the autoimmune issues. I found myself losing memory, getting confused, staggering when walking, to name a few of the symptoms. I still have some when I get tired, but I feel much better now with less weight. The good news is that they can fix this. Sometimes its caused by a slow bleed internally. It is good to have your PCP to monitor this and make sure they get to the root cause. Feel better soon.

Sorry you had to go through this. Hopefully you are on the other side of this and all stones have passed. Keep drinking and feel better soon.

    Helllllpppp Me!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have a sleeping pill I don't think it will hurt. Most have some kind of pain medicine or liquid tylenol. I took a heating pad and used it on the area that hurt. Gas will move around some so the area might not remain constant. I wouldn't put heat directly on incisions though. Hope you feel better soon.

Rice Krispy treats must be an acquired taste. If I'm going to bad I can think of others things. I must have given my child a bad childhood - I don't ever remember making those. I did buy a box of them once already prepared. Tasted like cardboard so thus my lack of interest. It's ok you had a taste, just be glad it wasn't followed by a PB!!!!! Have fun.

    Having my band removed

It's too soon to give up on the band. You haven't given it or you a chance. Why don't you wait until you recover from the surgery and see how you feel? Get some support from others to feel less anxious. For most of us it was an easy procedure and recovery. Wishing you the best

Thanks for the size 16 comment! I needed that. It's funny, I can't even think that. I'm sitting here today after a frustrating visit to my closet this morning thinking I need to order some clothes. What size? All my clothes are just too big, even my alternate closet. Now I'm not complaining, but I do have to work and look somewhat presentable. My big problem is the legs of the pants. They think all heavy women have fat legs. I don't and the thighs of the pants stick way out. I'm thinking of ordering 18's from women's or maybe 20's from womens instead of plus size. I think there is such a thing. Maybe I should switch to skirts. Getting a fill next week should be good for 5-7 lbs before the cruise. OK folks the formal tree is done. It is beautiful. We finished it last night after putting the finishing touches on it. I worked on the tree in our bedroom, but ran out of lights. I had to remove the lights DH put on. I like them twisted up and down each branch. He is off to store this morning to get some more and I'll work on that tonight. We are still waiting for the tree for the den to be delivered. We ordered it online so hopefully it will be here soon. If I can get the trees done I can work on centerpieces and wreaths over the long weekend. It will keep my hands busy and no time for eating.

    Size 14 Jeans

I can't even imagine size 14 jeans! WOW that is terrific. Wear them with pride!!!!
  20. I can totaly relate to your daughter. I never really tried to commit suicide although I did think of it once or twice. My problem was acceptance. I just wanted to be accepted and loved as I was, not the image I could be. People are hurtful. They don't always mean to be that way, it just is. I knew my parents loved me, but they would love me more if I was thinner. My parents helped me with diets all my childhood. I was told I could have a new wardrobe once I was successful. At 16 my parents took me to a diet doctor. I lost the weight, got new clothes, and was paraded at their work for how proud they were of me. I felt hollow inside. Why couldn't they love me as I was, not as they wanted me to be? I guess what I'm really saying is that this is a mind issue first, and a chemical/physical issues second. Your daughter needs to know she is great just the way she is, that she is loved, that her brother is not better than her, etc. Once she is comfortable in her skin she can then work on her body. I would make sure she has a complete physical and lots of blood work. FInd out what is making her fat and what her triggers are. Then a good counselor/nutrionist can work with the family. This needs to be her project and one that the family embraces. Good luck to you. There are good doctors out there that can help. I hope you can find the right one soon.

    Divorce

The fact that he told you he found this thread clearly sends his message. He wants the control, needs the control, and demands the control. Why? Because he has to be right, he has to be the one wronged. He wants to look good in everyone's eyes so that they can't get close enough to see his flaws. Let him go to his reunion. Stay home and regroup. It won't be pleasant and he will only cause you grief at this point. If he really wanted to know what makes you tick, he would have read the posts but not said anything. He would have internalized the posts and learned something from them. He didn't. He just lashed out. Unfortunately, I don't think this will get better. Don't worry what he says to the children. You raised them. Deep down they know what you are about. Don't try to justify yourself to them. Just be yourself and they will slowly return and know what's going on. It might get rough for a while, but now look after yourself. You can't be there for your children if you are beaten down and have no energy. My thoughts are with you. Take care of YOU.

    My First Fill

You should be on liquids the day of your fill. Most doctors want you to stay on liquids and/or mushies for a few days after. Mine wants us on liquids for 3 days and mushies for 3 days after a fill. He is a little stricter than some. The actual fill should be a non event. Its no big deal. Fills can kick in at any time so be prepared for the unexpected. Foods that you could eat before a fill you may not be able to eat. You can eat one day and not the next. Everyone is different so finding what works and doesn't work for you will be the trick. Good luck and go easy on Thursday.

Fill scheduled for 11/28. This should take me through December. I hope it will be alright and give me just a little restriction. Its 3 weeks before the cruise so it should be enough time to make sure everything is OK before we leave.

What do you have for Thanksgiving?

This year it will be just DH and me. I chose to have Schwans Turkey and mashed potato dinner. I'll make a little caserole of sweet potatoes, green bean casserole. I broke down and got some hot roll mix for rolls. I had Schwan's make a pumpkin pie. I didn't want DH to not have a traditional Thanksgiving, but I didn't want to have loads and loads of food around. I can't cook for just 2! We will stay busy decorating for Christmas.
