Yes I think you're right. When I come in now its back to normal. Thank goodness because I was going wacko having to scroll left and right. Great news about your Thursday afternoon arrival. PM me your full name, cell phone, etc so I can add your name to the suite when I register and you can call and we can call you so we can get keys etc. We can't register for the suite until 4 so we'll be hanging around Las Vegas until then.

    Countdown to Onederland!

11 more pounds, 11 more pounds. My anniversary is June 13th. Don't think I'll make it to onederland by then but hopefully by July 4th.

    Anyone see "Big Medicine"?

I could kick myself. My PCP told me about Garth, but I didn't go with him because I couldn't find anything about him doing lapbands. He does do lapbands. His father and him and now Dr. Spiegel are operating out of University General, a new hospital here in Houston. Five star establishment. The two Davis's are a hoot and bring some refreshing comedy to a subject that has not always been funny. It is a 10 episode show with them so I'm sure they will have lapband surgery in there. I was glad to see the profiles of the plastic surgeons because I wanted to know more about Rappaport featured in the first episode. We've got to hope that more will be said about lapbandsters as there are more and more of us. I try to put all these shows in perspective, but I do learn something from each of them. If nothing, it keeps the whole thing real for me.

OK now tell me how to get our thread to view on my screen without me having to scroll left and right. What's going on. I heard from Barbara12 today. We're still a go. Lucymann told me she was real busy, but she paid for Celine so I'm assuming she's still going. Pinkylee, Melissa, and I are definites. I think we're OK. We're working on the suite now. When is everyone arriving? Barbara12, Pinkylee, and I are coming in Thursday morning. Melissa comes in Friday morning. What about you socal? I love cruises and they are lots of fun. I've been on about 9 and now I've got my DH loving them as well. We've been on 2 and have already booked our 3rd.

Good to see ya socalgirl. You look great. Now I can recognize you in Las Vegas. You go girl!!!
  6. Too bad about Tai Chi. I've already paid for 3 months. This is closer for me and easier to get to from work. I'll do this at Humble for the summer and see where I'm at. Welcome back Lana. Glad everything went well. Looking forward to seeing the pictures.
  7. Rhonda, Suzanne, and I met for dinner. We had a great time as always. Its so much fun getting together and talking band stuff and other stuff as well. Suzanne brought her before and after pictures. What a difference!!! Now don't forget to post those on the June thread Suzanne. I signed up for another 3 months of Tai Chi. I'll try going two nights a week, but it will be OK if I don't make it all the time. I also want to go to Curves at least twice a week.

Hi to everyone. I want to see pictures!!!!!!!!!! It doesn't matter if the loss is 20 lbs or 100 lbs. Let's see those shining faces!! I'm taking my band pictures this weekend. I've already seen the difference. I've decided to wear something similar to my before so you can really see the difference. We just got hardwoods in the formal areas and our office. It is beautiful. The change in the rooms is amazing. Now to put everything back. I joined Tai Chi for 3 more months at twice a week. I think it is helping. It is a good workout, even though you are doing things in slow motion. Vegas in 3 weeks. Can't wait. We were trying to find a glamour shot place out there. I think we can get some really good pics of the group with all our cameras! Next year a cruise sounds great. Start saving your money and we'll go somewhere. In another year I will have had my arms done for sure and maybe have lost another 40 lbs. Hang in there everyone fighting those challenges. We can do this. Healing thoughts to those in pain.

WOW Melissa!!!!!!!!!!!!! You look fantastic. Just in a few months since we last saw you what a change. I can't wait to see you in Vegas in person. Thanks for posting the pics. I can't wait to see everyone else on their anniversary dates. This will be such fun. Yes Snoopy I'm afraid that this journey is one of constant monitoring. The old cravings don't go away. Some do, but they are replaced with other challenges. All in all for me this has been a pleasant one. However, roadblocks are killers!!! Good luck to you. I am on a new path to rid myself of these 12 lbs. I want to reach onederland by July 4th. I can do this. I know I can. Weather is beautiful in Houston today. I'm going to curves, then a 90 minute massage, and then to get my nails and toes done. Hubby has to wait at home for the cable guy. Tomorrow we are going shopping.

I know eveyone is just dropping off. I hope that everyone isn't in a slump, but more they are busy. Don't forget that it would be fun to post your before and after picture on here on your anniversary date. It will be fun to see everyone. I have been having more stuck moments. I've never had this before. Once it clears though I'm hungry as a horse. I'm picking more at night and I've got to stop. I'm 12 lbs away from onederland and I've been here for 2 months. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
  11. 6:15 sounds great. It has been a while and want to hear about your vacation.
  12. I have struggled with this issue since banding - how supportive should one be when someone is definitely doing something to jeopardize their band? How do you tell them to stop it or they may do harm? Each doctor is different and their pre and post op diets are different. That's why it is important to find a doctor you trust and then trust what they say. You report to them not to members on the board. If newly banded people can't follow the rules at the beginning, how in the world can they follow them 4 months down the road? or 6? or 8? We must learn to follow the rules early and get them reinforced. I try to be honest with people that ask for help. If you don't want to hear the truth then don't ask. Post something like " I know I did wrong, so don't yell at me", etc. Otherwise the reader assumes you want some support by telling you went wrong. Not reinforcing the bad behavior. I have read threads in the year I've been here that gave sympathy to someone who threw up after every meal and then ate more, who ate a whole gallon of ice cream and said they would try to do better tomorrow, who PBs on purpose so they could eat more, who went out drinking night after night, who ate solid food 3 days after getting banded, etc. I guess what I'm saying is support will be given if you post it in a way that solicits responses from others. It just might not be in the form you had hoped for. Good luck on your journeys. Mine is fun, exciting, frustrating, and rewarding.

    UHC's new policy on fills!?!

I have UHC and they pay for my fills 80%, just like other medical costs. I might add that my doctor now charges $800 for a fill, whether I do it at his office or at the surgicenter under fluro. That means he gets $80 out of me, settles with the insurance for $400 and then ins. pays $320. No fill is worth that much and if you look at my fills/unfills you can see that mounts up to a huge amount.
  14. I'll be there and hopefully Bikergrammy. Let me know if you can't make it since it just might be you and me Cyndie. I hate to eat dinner alone.

Tai Chi class tonight. I definitely get a workout with that class. I sweat. I go to curves and nothing. Guess I'll keep tai Chi in my schedule for another month or two. I could eat today. I didn't have any trouble. I had chili for lunch, but chicken for dinner. I am starving all the time now. I would think I didn't have a fill if it wasn't for the PBs. I don't think I've slipped, but something is different. I'm also finding it harder to hold off on my cravings. I want a little bit of everything and eat when I'm not hungry. I think I am experiencing some depression and going back to old behaviors.

I hear you reginia. I get so hungry, but now i'm getting stuck more and more. I have no self control and I'm eating easy fattening food. Did go to Curves tonight. I lost a lb of fat, but gained a few inches in my arms. I knew that flab was growing!! Got to keep going on this journey. I've made a few detours, but I think I'm on the main road again.

Happy Memorial Day weekend!!!! Its raining in Houston. Sometimes very heavy. I believe it has put a damper on most outdoor activities. I am fnding myself getting stuck more and more. This is new to me so I'm trying to find all the things that I once could eat that I can't. Eggs are heading the list. Now, my DH's homemade pizza without the crust is another. I just can't keep it down. Just when I thought I would go for a fill .... :drum: Tick Tock our anniversaries start next week. WOW can you believe. Don't forget to post pictures on your anniversary date.
  18. Enjoy the wedding Lana. A tour sounds great of the house. Free Tai Chi at the May center? That is a great center and they have lots of stuff. It will be during the day so I won't be able to participate, but you gals have fun. I asked and everyone, not the instructor, told me no Tai Chi on Monday. Its a holiday. Getting stuck now and then. This is new to me so I have to figure out all the things making me stuck. Its a new world with this band everyday.
  19. Do what you can Betsy and just don't worry. Whatever you can whenever is OK. When I was at my height of illness I just would say I will try to be there. That's all you can do. I decided I just don't worry about it or the money. This week was the first time I was able to go to class both days. I skipped Curves tonight. You can only do so much. Take care of you. Dick and I went to La Villa for dinner. It was nice to have a little outing.

Everything going well here. Dick is getting better every hour. He is almost independent. Of course he can't drive or leave the house, but he is getting around pretty good. I'm doing much better. Still tired, but not as bad. Hectic at work. Eating more junk because food is so difficult. Stress is playing havoc on my system. I've lost 2 lbs so I think I'll claim them. Dick has lost about 9 lbs. Not fair. Time for all of us to get back to basics. Keep our programs pure and we won't have so many issues and regrets. I'm not going to make my bandanniversary goal, but that's OK. I'll just keep plugging away at it and someday I'll be in onederland. Time to gather some pictues everyone and start posting our befores and afters. Lets post them on our anniversaires. It will be fun to see the changes, however slight they may be. Let's renew our journeys goals and not beat ourselves up for past regressions. Every day is a new day and we can make it better than the one that came before. END OF PEP TALK ......I love all of you.
  21. Hope you are feeling better Betsy. I had a real workout tonight at class. He worked with me a little, but it was practice, practice, practice. He had us do some partner stuff at the end which was different. I was exhausted when finished. I'm going for the black tee shirt for next class. This jacket is just too hot. Hope everyone has a great memorial day weekend. Dick is doing really well so hopefully we will have a relaxing weekend. I have graduation parties to attend both Friday and Saturday nights. Have to go solo since Dick can't ride in a car that long yet.
  22. I can't find anything either. I found one that only came in white. It was for students of Tai Chi. It was only $15, but he told me it had to be black. It just can't be this hard to find them. I'm doing better today. I was able to eat my dinner. I think I'm starting to relax some. Dick is doing great. Memorial day is Monday so that won't work for our meeting for dinner. Why don't we meet the following Monday at Humble Cafe. Lana will you be back from the wedding by then? What about you Suzanne?
  23. Sorry you are not doing well Betsy. Take care. I talked to instructor about our uniforms. He said we could order off the internet, but not to pay more than $35. It has to be black. Another lady was there and she wore a black men's T-shirt. I'm thinking of that since those jackets are just too hot and restricting. I'll look to see if I can find softer ones to wear online when I get a chance.
  24. Just a few of us at Tai Chi tonight. I worked by myself. I can't seem to remember the sequence after a certain point. I came home and had a bite of meatloaf and got stuck. It was a good 2 hours before I settled down. I guess I'm taking meatloaf off my list!
  25. Well I didn't get a massage. I had a bad PB and just felt awful. I did manage to get out for a while and go to WalMart. We needed a few things. I'm going to the office tomorrow and then back home in the afternoon. I should be at Tai Chi. I might take some time Tuesday and go get a massage. I'm just real tired and my band is giving me a fit. I haven't been under this kind of stress since getting it so it decided to show me who's boss. We are eating a few bites of soft food when we can. Dick isn't eating very much either so don't have to cook. I'm sure things will be better in a few days and once I can get back to a schedule. A schedule seems to help me the most.
