    Hummus

Do you know what the brand is called?
  2. Question??? How did you transition from mostly using shakes to getting your protein from food sources? I started really tracking what I am eating due to my 3 week stall. I'm noticing that due to my milk allergy that most of the shakes and yogurts I eat are a bit higher in carbs and calories than I would like and noticed I am more reliant on the shakes than food to get my protein in. How hard was the transition? Should I gradually start eliminating the shakes? Thanks for any info you could share.

    Potatoes?

Funny I was just thinking about potatoes. I can't eat them plain either.
  4. Hi, I need some encouragement please. I am into my 2nd stall since WLS. First one came less than two weeks from my surgery date and lasted a week, now I am in this second one but this one is much longer (going on three weeks). To make matters worse I am a slow loser. This is starting to get discouraging and darn annoying. I'm left wondering if I made a big mistake getting WLS and am I going to stay at this weight. Was this it? I'm trying to stay positive about but the bad is starting to outweigh the good. Please tell me it gets better.

    I can’t drink enough liquids

What helped me in the beginning was using the small 1 ounce cups. I would pour the water from my bottle into that little cup every 15 minutes and I was able to get in around 40 oz in the beginning. I then ended up being able to drink 1 oz in ten minutes and so on. If you don't have or can't find the 1 oz cups try those little medicine cups. Maybe this will help you get in your fluid.

    What can I eat?

I did eat some vegetable soup, lentil soup and of course chili. Today though I went ahead and tried some chicken. Had no problem with it. I know my medical team wanted me to wait but I think as long as I am careful I'm gonna try it.

    Sore shoulder?

I'm sorry you went through this. Constipation sucks. I had awful constipation as well. I believe mine was because of a few different things, not enough fiber, I needed to bump up my water intake and I was taking in too much iron. I started taking Miralax daily to help keep me regular. If you keep having issues with constipation contact your doctor, you should call them about your shoulder as soon as you can so you can get that checked out. You also might want to buy the enemas that come in a bottle to keep in case the fiber, etc doesn't work.
  8. I only took off 10 days. Big mistake, even though I am also working from home. Yes, you may be able to move around I did but I really needed the rest and would fall asleep at my desk, in the middle of meetings, on the phone and with my hands still on the keyboard. (you get the idea) Also, when counting how much liquid I was getting I noticed that if things got hectic I would forget to take sips sometimes and had to try and play catch up so that is something to also be aware of. My doctors office never gave me a note and I think they forgot and I regret not asking and taking off the time I needed. Give it some thought about what you really want to do.

    Jealous Friends

Damn...sorry you had to go through that and for her being that way. Her loss on losing a great friend. Guess I'm lucky I have had nothing but support from my friends.
  10. I have had multiple issues since having my surgery. First thing I was taken off my blood pressure meds, now I need them more than ever due to skyrocketing blood pressure. I had a diuretic for my previous pills but they won't give those to me so the pill I have barely works. I hit my first stall less than 2 weeks out from surgery and am now in another. (Stalls suck) All of my old health issues came raring back with a vengeance, (hoping as the weight drops they will go away) and now have some new ones. Had the lab take blood and she hit a nerve so I am dealing with the aftermath of that. The NUT wanted no chicken, beef or pork for the first 4 months so with my dietary restrictions this is making things a bit harder. (Just eating more veges) I am having issues with constipation and called my dr. office for help. Lets see eat more fiber and drink more water. I have always done that. I drink over 70 ounces a day (probably be more now since its warm outside) I increased my fiber from around 15 g to 20-24 g. Not helping. So why are they treating me like I'm lying? So I have had to figure it out on my own. Probably the amount of iron I am taking in. So I am going to adjust that myself. On Saturday I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and go have fun. I went out to the mall with a friend. All that walking made my hip a bit sore but I ignored it thinking not used to walking around for two hours. Yesterday rolls around I stop at the grocery store after seeing my doctor and getting an xray and when I stepped off the curb my hip almost gave out. So here I am sitting in my room not feeling too great waiting to call the doctor again for another appointment. Its been fun these past two months.

Just need to moan, whine and vent -- Sorry

I think that's why they should have waited. The issue was because I had seen my PCP a week after surgery and my BP was fine so she was fine with me not being on any, wasn't until a week or two later that it rose back up. Hopefully mine will drop down as time goes on.

Just need to moan, whine and vent -- Sorry

They didn't want me to have the diuretic because they wanted to make sure I didn't get dehydrated which they said is a danger for someone so early after surgery. I should be talking with my PCP soon and we will discuss what meds are best.

    Slow weightloss

I am also not losing weight as fast as others but it is what it is. I just make sure I meet my protein and water goals and figured it will happen in its own time.

    What can I eat?

No nuts yet. But I can have beans and have a pot of turkey chili on. Hopefully that will break up the monotony. I think I am going to have to get a bit creative with my food.

    What can I eat?

LOL, I did try that. It was pretty decent. I just couldn't eat it at every meal.

    What can I eat?

Yes, I was given something similar, however guess what it contained? Mostly seafood. They restrict Chicken, pork and beef until 4 months out. I did try an egg. My pouch no longer likes them. So I'm kind of stuck.
