  1. I put my pants on this morning while standing up, I always had to sit down to do that. Small victory but I'll take it.

    Average time off from work?

I also am working from home and I took 10 days off and wish I had taken more. Getting my fluids in was fine but I kept falling asleep at random times. I ended up just using my vacation time since I had a boatload of it. I didn't take FMLA since I never got a doctor's note. (they forgot)
  3. Back in the day I went through this as well.
  4. I brought my phone, charger and a toothbrush. Only thing I wish I brought was a robe. I was sometimes giving a free show to the nurses as I was walking around. (was wearing two gowns butttttt) LOL

Been fighting for every pound, but.....

Congrats on your weight loss. I feel you about the stalls. I'm glad yours broke.
  6. I'm sorry you are going through this. I have had issues with constipation and now I take Miralax if I don't go within 2 days. I also use Benefiber in my yogurt every day. I had two days of the worst constipation of my life and i keep an enema bottle for emergencies in my bathroom in case the Miralax doesn't work. I was taking a vitamin with 45 mg of Iron and switched it out to one with 18 mg, I also have added a bit of fruit and beans to my diet and things seemed smoother. Things will get better once your fiber intake increases. Good luck I'm sure you will be fine.

Starting new journey what was your timeline

I had a very long timeline. LOL. I started orientation in January 2020, started a 10 week class March 2020 (which got cancelled) Classes resumed July 2020 (online). Finished my classes in August 2020 but had to wait because my A1C levels were still too high with a retest in January 2021. Again levels too high, August 2021 my levels were good so I was referred to the surgeon. Had orientation with the Bariatric clinic in October 2021 and met with surgeon November 2021. Appointment with Internal medicine was December 2021 and meeting with Psychologist January 2022. It took a couple of weeks for them to schedule me due to having to take care of patients who got their surgery cancelled and needed rescheduled. I got my surgery date late February 2022 for surgery April 2022.
  8. I'm curious about stalls. My weight loss has stalled many times in the 3 months since surgery. I'm curious as to how many stalls everyone had in the first six months post-op?
  9. One of these days I'm going to try green tea again. Last time I had it I got a bit sick. (Don't know why)

    Stalls - How many

This sounds so much like me. It's been every month that the weight loss stops and then picks up again. I don't see big drops but yea this sounds like me.
  11. Hunh...this explains so much to me. I was always a plain water drinker now I can't get by unless it has some flavor.
  12. I was like that at the beginning too. My thing was constantly watching people baking cakes and dreams of baking cakes. It will get better for you. Now, I am more concerned with trying to find the healthiest thing I can eat. I'm on a broccoli kick now and can't get enough of it. As for going out to eat with friends I have been avoiding that cause I'm being a scaredy cat thinking I might get sick from the food and dump or something.

    Stalls - How many

My dietician classifies a stall as over two weeks with no movement and no inches lost, of which I have had two since surgery. I'm now in day 5 of no weight loss so I will see if this ends up being a stall. The reason I am so concerned is the amount of pain I am in daily due to health issues that cropped up since surgery and weight loss is probably the only way to help out the situation. (without taking a bunch of pills) Kind of hard to wake up in pain and go to sleep in pain.

    What can I eat?

I have moved onto the soft food phase of the diet and have no idea what I can eat. Everytime I ask I"m told fish is great to start with and without fail I have to remind them that I can't eat dairy (milk allergy) and I can't eat fish (allergy). No one is really giving me ideas. So I am stuck eating refried beans, split pea soup and ground turkey. Things are getting a little boring. I have finally started adding in some veges but they want me to eat the protein first, so if I fill up on protein what was the point of cooking the vegetables? Any ideas on what I can eat?

    Stalls - How many

Yea, I'm great at tracking my calories, protein, carbs and water. I usually average under 800 calories per day.

    Stalls - How many

Well I will be seeing my surgeon next week and will speak with her regarding this. I have had 3 stalls with each usually lasting two or more weeks in the 3 months since surgery. Thanks for the info.

    Back pain disappearing

This surgery was the best thing ever for my low back pain. It would hurt just standing washing dishes. My pain was gone when I dropped around the first 10 pounds.
  18. A couple of things I wish I knew. The constipation is real. I average between 14 - 22 grams of fiber daily but still have to take something everyday. I wish someone had of explained that too me. I have rarely been constipated in my life until now. All the aches and pains I got. I am the only one of several people I know who got the surgery who has had issues. Weird hip pain where I couldn't walk without assistance and now Meralgia Paresthetica. I had this condition many years (24) ago when I was pregnant and it came back with a vengeance. I refused any meds due to potential weight gain and will hopefully wait it all out.

    Hair loss help?

I am seriously considering getting my hair cut if I start to lose too much hair. Unlike a lot of others I was already thinning and shedding well before surgery so hair loss is nothing new to me. I was given a topical medicine that included 7% Rogaine in it and I have been on that medicine since February. One of the things hair loss taught me is I will survive and that life will still go on with or without hair. So why the heck not embrace it and get a cute hair cut. (if I can decide which one I want)

    Wish you knew before surgery…

Same with me. Wish I hadn't bought so much.

    Vitamins

I am currently taking CelebrateOne 18 as well as their brand of Calcium chews. Wish I could swallow pills so I don't have to use the chewables.
  24. I had an early issue with my vitamins as well. I had to break up the chewable tablet and made sure I took it with one of my shakes or with food.
  25. Sorry you are going through this. I haven't had any issues with eating sweets after my surgery. But, I am just like you. Mine were before surgery so many years ago when I all of sudden had a milk allergy. That meant no dairy for me. No pizza, no ice cream. I did the exact same thing you did I went ahead and ate some ice cream and I paid for it with some of the worse stomach pain I have ever had and it took my stupid self a couple of times of doing this before I learned my lesson. Even the pain I had after surgery is nothing compared to that. Your going to get through this and your going to remember this. Best advice I can give is just pick yourself up and keep moving forward.
