  1. I started at 416 after a month I lost 31 pounds people at work notice a differences then but now that I have lost over 200 lbs people are always saying boy you look like a different person. It is nice to hear but in the end going from a 57 inch waist to now a 34 - 36 makes it all worth it for me.
  2. Congrats to everyone. I too waited a long time to get my band I looked into it for about 2 years, I was scared about the surgery that I use to all was chicken out from going to the seminars. I know chicken but now I have lost over 200 lbs and I feel great, It has by far the best decision I ever made. I would tell anyone the Lap band saved my life. Good Luck to everyone on their journey of healthier living 4 more pounds to goal. Jon
  3. Hi everyone, Its been a while since I posted everything has been going great since I had the lap band back in Dec 09. I have lost 174 pounds. Now I know I have drooped a lot of weight but when I look in the mirror I still see the same big guy, some friends and I are going to Six Flags Over Texas on Sunday and I am afraid that I wont be able to fit in the seats everyone says I will be fine including my doctor but I just cant get that feeling out of my mind do any one have any good advice. Thanks Guys, Jon
  4. Congrats on Your Approval!!! I know for me I wouldn't change a thing. Good luck and see you around on the weight loss journey call life. Jon
  5. I think I know what you are talk about. It feels like something is stuck. I ate shrimp one day it made me sick, a lil of the shrimp came up and from that night to the next morning I felt as if something was stuck. So I was like I'm not taking a chance I called my doctor went into the office to do a xray nothing was stuck. He said that some foods irritate the pouch. Its best to stay away from those certain foods, but it is also a learning process to see what our body can handle. I do agree with the other guys that the post op diet is hard but you need to stick to it to let your body heal. I say if the pain/feeling is not gone by in the morning to give your doctor a call and see what he says you need to do. Good luck with everything and keep me posted. ~JON~
  6. Thank you all for the kind words. Reading your posts really made my day, to see that we are all here for each other on this journey to healthy living. Some tips I have to get that weight off that works for me. It has been hard to keep going to that gym but I go 5 times a week sometimes twice a day. I really don't eat out as much. I make my own meals at home. Every now and then once a week I give myself a treat. Like if I want slice of pizza Ill have it but I tell myself its easy to put it on, but it is hard as hell to get it off. The band really gets me full quick I think I have like 5.7cc in my band. I don't drink soda at all and fried foods are no longer my friend. I tried to eat a piece of fried fish and it made me feel funny like I just felt the grease going down. I quickly put it down and told myself I'm staying away from that LOL. Don't get me wrong I eat and I am satisfied with the portion I eat. I am just more aware of what I put in my mouth. If you have any questions about my workout or my diet or even just about my journey feel free to hit me up. To next time Band Family. Luv Ya all Jon:wub:

  10. Well I was banded 12-18-09 By Dr. Frank Felts here in Dallas, Texas and I have lost a 100 pounds. I feel great, I have more energy and I feel my body changing. The lap band has been the best choice I made in my life. Its not easy but the hard work is worth the results you see. I went from a 57 waist to a 44 waist I know I have a ways to go but this first milestone has given me so much motivation. Good Luck to everyone on there journey to healthy living and happiness. :thumbup:Love Always:thumbup: Jon

  13. There are some negatives aspect of the Band but the positives weight out the Negatives. Every time you step on that scale and you see a lower number gives you the strength to fight for your dream. A dream to be healthy, look better in cloths. So far I wouldn't change my decision to get the band it was well worth it.
  14. Well i 2 had Aetna and they need to see that you are trying to lose. I lost like 7 pounds on that 3 month diet. I think the most important thing that you can do Is make the changes as you go. If you drink a lot of soda start dring Chrsytal light. You know start controling the amount you eat. Because real talk if your surgent is like mine he gave me a little fill when he put my band in and I cant eat nothing that I use to eat. I went from downing 3 to 4 pork chops to eating 1 at the most. Let fired food and fast food go trust you wont miss it. It's a long journey bro and you are making a good choice on taking control of your life. remember the band aint some magical wond that makes the weight go away. Its your hard work and your drive with the help of the band that will keep you in line lol. Good Luck.
  15. Thanks for the support all everything is still going well on my end. I have my first fill on Monday the 18th. Having the band is a real change my doctor put a lil fluid in my band when I had the surgery and what I use to be able to eat I no longer can. You know I really don't miss it. I join the gym at my job and I work out now 5 times a week. I will keep you all posted on everything that's going on I will be weighing in again on the 18th again also. Good Luck on your journey.
  16. @btrieger lol no from the day I started my pre-op diet i think it was 12/03/09. Thanks for the kind words.
  17. OMG I had surgery this month on 12-18-09 and have lost 40 pounds. I 'm so happy I have always been than overweight kid and I just want to live normally and not let this weight hold me back. I know I have a long way to go and I still do crave those fatty foods but getting on that scale makes it so much worth not eating them. I get my first fill on 01/18/10 come on all lets push thru to a happier healthier life. Love You All. Jon:rolleyes:
