7 days post -op
During the first 3 months I tried very hard to eat healthy. Cutting out the refined flours and sugars and stuck to fresh cooked Protein and veggies. Didn't always succeed every day but I managed to maintain my initial 12 lb loss till my 3rd fill which was the fill that gave me some restriction/satiety. Stay motivated!

post removal diet?
I would think the Dr knows best? As long as there's no damage to your esophagus or stomach, you should be able to eat most anything. I'd be careful with steak and other meats but why not?

getting ready for lap band
Yup! What gowalking said. Every doctor is different. Mine was 4 days liquids. Some are up to 30 days.

The First Year was Heaven! The Second Year is Starting out Hell
Well, this is quite confusing? Why would you want to or need to remove your band?

lose the first week after a fill then gain
You won't lose much weight if any if you're consuming 1500/day. Just keep getting those fills till you start to feel satisfied with smaller portions of food. Sorry, but this is the way the band works. The band will dim your appetite and help you feel satisfied with less food. It won't stop you from eating more, it only helps you to feel like you don't need to eat more. Watch for satiety signals like burps, hiccups, yawns, runny nose to know when it's a good time to stop eating. tmf

worried about low carb/high fat diets? New study results
Now if they could only find that Krispy Kreme was good for me?? I have to say, I love my butter and bacon. Not necessarily in large quantities but when a recipe calls for butter, it's going to be nice to use the real thing. I still use "I can't believe it's not butter, lite" spray on my thin breads and some veggies.

lose the first week after a fill then gain
24 lbs is still a good amount of weight to lose post surgery. I only lost about 22 lbs 5 month after surgery. Not much to go on? If you're on a PC can you fill in your profile so we know more about you? Starting weight, how many fills, height, current weight, age etc? I didn't feel any restriction till my 3rd fill but restriction didn't go away over time. Some people's stomach respond differently to each fill. You could be experiencing some inflammation from each fill due to some irritation from the band tightening? And then when the inflammation goes down, you'll have less restriction. This is very normal. Are you looking for the satiety signals? And, fills won't necessarily make you lose weight/fat. You say you're tracking calories? What is your avg calories consumption/day? Exercise? Your BMR and active BMR? tmf

Hitting the wall?
juice will spike your insulin levels. How about an apple, melon, blueberries. Something with Fiber in it so that the fructose absorbs into your blood stream a little slower?

I know I need to eat slowly, but how?
Both of your posts/topics today have duplicate first paragraphs FYI.

Green Zone… But only after 6pm :(
Suzzie, sounds wonderful if this happens just in the mornings? Many would love to be where you are now. Just monitor the stuck episodes and make sure you get enough fluids. If this is an incident that happens in the afternoons or evenings, you should check with your doctor.

change in restriction
This happens often so unless you're feeling pain, GERD, night coughing or can't pass any food or liquid, this could be a shift in the fat surrounding your stomach between the band and stomach.

Finally getting an un-fill tomorrow BUT….
Overly tight bands cause more band complications than anything else. Don't gamble with your health. Have a little taken out.
