  1. Awesome! That's great to hear! Congratulations and good luck!
  2. I would be a dudette lol. I know I won't be able to do it for the first few weeks after but I don't want to not be able to do it again. It's one thing that gets me motivated to workout and I'd hate to lose it. I haven't seen my surgeon in a while. I've been going though the classes and other requirements.
  3. Has anyone post surgery taken martial arts classes? I am wondering if it'll be ok for me to resume going after surgery. The particular class I take is for stick and knife fighting but they incorporate empty hands techniques as well. I am still very much a beginner so I don't have to fight very hard, it's all technique and form for me now. And while the idea is to not get hit I imagine the occasional blow or poke to the stomach is not out of the question as I eventually become more advanced. Just wondering if anyone has any experience in the area.
  4. During my psych visit it was suggested that I consider one of the other surgeries. She didn't pressure but just the way she mentioned it. I am 5'7 295. But the bAnd is the only one I am willing to consider. If they deny me my band I just won't be having wls at all. And I would be very angry if they waited until the last minute to tell me they won't do it.
  5. Hi everyone. I go for my first consultation with a wls doctor tomorrow. What kinds of things and questions can I expect at my first visit?
