  1. It's good to see the new bandsters!! I was there a year ago! Things change so much over a year.

It has come off slowly for me and really I didn't lose much until I felt restriction. I'm now down 52lbs and I feel so awesome and I have tons more to lose!

I'm so glad I did it. It's like a giant rubberband that snaps me on the stomach when I want to splurge too much.

  2. Honestly, I think she's a sucky friend. We are grown ups? Who yells at you for a personal decision? Ridiculous.

Congrats to anyone who loses weight, woohoo. But come on, do what you want to do?

Also, seems awfully similar to the natural birthing to getting an epidural. Lots of arguments there, for whatever reasons.

YOU do what works for YOU and what you want to DO! I've had nothing but support and I suggest you surround yourself with people who are supportive!

  3. A mini can of V-8 low sodium juice only has 30 calories and is PACKED with nutrition. That will usually hold me off from eating something bad. I do still crave my salty chips though. That is my downfall. Sweets? Not a problem. Just the chips. I have read on hear that we don't get hungry, that it's all head hunger. Maybe for you, but I DO GET HUNGRY. I can tell the difference. When I crave something and have head hunger, I want it and fixate on it. When I'm hungry, my stomach gowls and rumbles, it hurts and then I get nauseous. If I let it go to long I get a roaring headache. So I DO get hungry. When I'm like that, I don't care what I eat. I just want something, anything in my tummy so the discomfort will stop. At that time I usually reach for a protien food like nuts, or cheese. It evens out my blood sugar, and makes me feel better immediately. Actually, I do better with real hunger than I do with head hunger. With head hunger I'm just being a spoiled brat and eat crap.

    This is me exactly!

  4. My dr. would only do like 2.5ccs in the first fill. I didn't feel any restriction really. I'm at about 5.75 now. I am pretty close to my sweet spot. It takes time, but don't rush it and don't freak yourself out. It's hard when you can don't feel any restriction (bandster hell). It will come and then you'll be happier!

  5. Ok, I've checked gall bladder stuff, and it says all the pains are on the right side. I'm having pain (aching pain) on the left side behind my port in my back.

I have had lots of gas and no food change. I haven't had a fill for over 5 weeks, and this just started 2 weeks ago.

Someone mentioned, weight re-distribution. Could that be it? I have scoliosis (wore a back brace when i was in 8th-11th grade). My back was used to my old weight and now it's getting used to lighter me?

I wonder if I am not holding my posture correct.

Ugh, I'm sorry, it's just really bothering me and I want an answer. sigh.

  6. Ok, I eat fine, and then 2 hours or so later, I get what I think is gas pain. It is around my port, a little lower and around my back.

It kind of feels like cramps and then I burp a lot and finally it goes away. Kind of a dull pain and uncomfortable.

I'm assuming it's gas. Is this normal?? I finally have good restriction and I wonder if I'm just eating too much food?

  7. I think in general it is sad b/c he was Iconic and reminds me of my youth.

I think he was seriously troubled and a bit off. I'm not sure he was a molester, but it didn't look good for him.

I think Farrah was iconic also, but she was controversial with her swimsuit poster and nipple showing through.

I also think it's sad when anyone dies, but I don't believe anyone can take away the fact he was an Icon.

  8. I usually have Dr. R give me the fills b/c he's awesome. The PA is really nice to me and supportive, but she stuck me wrong one time and I'm a bit of a shot weenie. So if Dr. R is there, I have him do it. Plus a bit of me is saying hmmm I pay $70 a fill so he can do it! lol

I'm just about at my sweet spot, if not there right now. So I won't go back for at least 2 months.

I get my fills standing up? What do you do?

I believe the reason I haven't lost faster is b/c of me. I'm struggling right now with what to eat for lunch and such? I'm getting bored, so I tend to not be good all the time. Bad Lori!

Did you know he partnered with Dr. Baker (plastic surgeon) and are opening an office in Champaign. I think it's cool. Cause if I ever lose enough to need plastic surgery I'd go to Dr. Baker.

  9. Good LUck Erica and Jennie. Dr. R did mine at Provena and it went smoothly!

I really wish I could find a lap band support group near to Decatur, Mt. Zion, or such. I just need ideas on how to stay focused.

Things are going well and I know for me, I wasn't losing more than 30lbs at a time, so I'm now down 43lbs and it's been such a blessing.

I need the physical reminder! I compare it to a large rubber band snapping me.

It took awhile, but once you get restriction, it just makes living easier (for me).

  10. It's been awhile since I have come to this thread. aaagh.

Well I'm down 43lbs and doing alright, not great. I just got another fill and I'm back to feeling more tight. YIPEE.

I find that life gets in the way of eating slowly, sigh. I also find that my head hunger is crazy and I really struggle with not being able to have as much food as my eyeball says I want to have.

I'm learning a lot with this band and I'm so happy I got it.
