    POST-OP SEX....OwwwcCCH! MY PORT!!!!!

My Doctor didn't say a word about that . I think they figured it's up to us to figure out when we want to go down that route lol. It can be sore though ,all that moving around lol but 2 weeks out,I was back to feeling good enough to.

    Day Two and Miserable

Yes,what you are experiencing is normal. I find it simply absurd that someone would be back at work after 2 days but it's possible I guess. I promise you ,in about a week you will feel much better and I would say by two weeks ,you will feel pretty much back to normal. I had surgery on November 3rd and my Incisions still feel a little sore but outside of that ,I feel much better. Hang in there.
  4. I'm sorry to hear about that Firedad. When did you have your first fill ? Recently? Maybe you are due for another .

    When I eat.

Hi again, My question is this (and I seem to have several at once lol) but anyways,I had my surgery on 11-3-08. I've not had a fill yet but there are times when I eat that it's almost uncomfortable (pain in the chest area)and then there are times I can't feel anything. I posted this in one of my replies but I figured i'd post this thread by it's self. Can you all give me some idea what you were FEELING a few weeks after your surgery? I'd really appreciate it!!

    When I eat.

LOL I cracked up when you said that you feel my pain lol. I remember feeling that exact same way that you're describing ,even with liquids. Congrats on being banded :grouphug: !

    When I eat.

That's how I am as well,I can definately tell a difference depending on what I eat. I've also been told that there will be certain foods that I can tolerate in the mushy stage that I will not be able to tolerate once I have a fill.

    When I eat.

You too Roxy! I hope you're doing well also. I'll be better once I get the hang of my band lol.

    When I eat.

Thank you for your response ,Jack. I think you're right. I also think I must be expecting too much too soon for myself. I'm a bit of a worry wart lol.

Trying to not be bummed out!

This is also my Doctor's philosophy. He wants to make sure that one really needs a fill before he does it. So you have not had a fill yet ,is that correct?
  11. Hi All, It's been 3 weeks since my surgery and i'm still at only a 10 pound weight loss. I don't get it. I'm eating well and exercising. I thought that this would be a plateau but wouldn't that have passed by now? Is this normal? Has anyone else experianced this? My fill is on January 8th and it can't come soon enough? Why do they wait so long to give me the fill? Any suggestions? Thank you! The dietician said that I may not lose much from that last appt and until January. Why is that ? If i'm exercising and eating healthy, why wouldn't I lose weight?

Trying to not be bummed out!

I go December 5th for my second follow up appt so I think i'll know more then. I did ask the nurse about why he waits that long to have a fill, she stated they will not do a fill much earlier than that due to the healing process ,she also stated that some may not even need a fill then.

    Relationship Question

I guess it hasn't changed much but for a while (especially the first week after surgery),my Husband sort of gave me the cold shoulder. He said it had nothing to do with the surgery but I wonder. About a month before I had surgery,he admitted to me that he's afraid I won't be attracted to him anymore when I lose all the weight. He's saying this because he's also overweight. However I convinced him otherwise. I still can't help but wonder ,in the long run if he will have an issue with me losing weight. He told me the other day that there is no way in hell that he could ever have the surgery. He flat out doesn't want to and I would never try to get him to change his mind .
  14. I have yet to try the Unjury soups. Thank you for the heads up though lol. Aren't they kind of pricey too?
  15. Oh I love chips&salsa too.I don't know what I would do if I had to give up Mexican Food. It's my fave!
  16. I've heard this is pretty normal. Something to do with your body being in "shock" from the surgery.
  17. I can relate to this also (about your friends). My friends are acting kind of ,stand-offish to me and I think it's sad. I don't get it either.
  18. Hi there. I can so relate to your fears. We have to keep telling ourselves that we won't fail. We just can't !! I think it's interesting your Doctor isn't doing your fill until late December/Early January. Same with mine and i'm not sure why their waiting so long.
  19. I understand about missing certain foods(i'm not an expert bandster as of yet though) but eventually you will be able to have most foods ,just in way smaller porportion. I've not had any chips since the surgery but I have had like low carb wraps which are similar to the tortillas(my dietician approved) however I had a hard time with them. From what i've been told is that everyone is so different in what they can tolerate. If you are able to tolerate them,I would definately recommend the whole weat tortilla chips. Their so much better for you.

Trying to not be bummed out!

I can't thank you enough for your posts. This really helps me to get a realistic perspective. I sort of feel like i'm walking in the dark ,when it comes to my band. Like for me,I tend to be more tight in the afternoon and evening but have no idea why. I do tend to sometimes be a fast eater (because i'm always on the go) and i'm trying so hard to slow down. This is all so new.
