    Postponed coz of covid 😩

I've already spoken to my boss, and told him it's ok for the 3 weeks that he's found someone to cover for me, not to stress over it but if it extends any longer then we'll think about resolving it. Unfortunately here in Melbourne I am in a covid hotspot, it's everywhere with the new variants. Hence the reason why I drive to work although its so costly to take the car in to the city, with the parking and toll fees! its crazy. I try to minimise the risks of catching it as much as I can! although Im a covit Survivor from 3 months ago, and already double vaccined. But we're still at risk of catching all the variants of this stupid disease! oh well everything happens for a reason I guess, I just have to wait and see what happens with the new scheduled date now🙄😐
  2. We're surgery twins! also due for a RYGB + hiatal hernia repair 27th of April do keep me posted post-op as I'd like to hear from you on how you go, hope I can return to work in 2-3 weeks.
  3. I was going to say the exact same thing, I agree with beginanew everything really does happen for a reason! atleast this will give you some more time to catch up on the last minute things that you wanted to do before surgery, that's what I would have done. Think of the glass half full and stay positive😊💪🙏
  4. Yes I too have read that and was quite surprised that it can be reversed I didn't know until I joined the forum, I'm glad I did! We can learn so much from others's experiences there's a lot of ideas that people have used reviewed and shared on this forum wich I found so informative.
  5. My breakfast at work lol
  6. Please keep me updated with how you go as I will be following you you're free to follow me I will keep you updated with my results as well the more we share the more we have Insight in how to deal with it I guess
  7. Yeah same here I'm worried about the negative side effects post-op but worried about the hernia staying there for many years again and I'm so sick of waking up in the middle of the night with acid reflux sitting up all night fighting not to sleep I'm just so over it and so exhausted I've even thought about asking the doctors whether I can have just a hernia repair and if I do will I lose my chance of the whole surgery will it be postponed - so many question marks in my mind😐☹️
  8. I suggest you consult your doctor about ozempic it helps with the liquid diet as well you don't feel so hungry. But congratulations on losing before surgery you've done really well👏👏👏😊
  9. OMG! Same here I'm due for a hiatal hernia repair and gastric bypass on the 27th of April. I've lost 30lbs since December 5th I was 240lbs now I'm down to 211lbs I've got another 77 to go! my whole family keeps saying you don't need the surgery youve got such willpower you've lost 13kilos already you can lose another 13 easily! BUT they don't understand that it's not about losing it's about keeping it off! I've lost many times before but put it back oh after I stopped all the hard work. I've managed to lose 13 kilos with the help of ozempic at the same time which really helps with my hunger pangs, but I know myself the weight is just going to come back on within a couple of months once I stop using ozempic! as my weight is hereditary I put it on very easily I'm just happy that I'm losing before the surgery so it to be quicker to reach my goal weight post-surgery💪😊🙏

  11. The vitamin infusion down in Australia is a lot of money as well unless your insurance covers that it cost between $300 to $600 but I will look into it and I don't know about the premier protein shake you mentions if we have it in Australia I will be looking into that maybe I might be able to order that online every little bit helps thanks so much for sharing and all the best to you Miortega 🙏🙏🙏😊
  12. Hi Marianne hope you're well, I might be postponed due to a iron infusion, we'll find out on Tuesday as I had it done on the 14th and I was told it that iron-transfer does not settle before 4 weeks even if there's a blood test it won't give accurate results, the surgery is due soon the results wont be accurate to get the all clear I'm assuming. So it's really up to the hospital to decide what the decision will be with this situation they may postpone they may not I'm just waiting for Tuesday to call them find out but will definitely keep you posted.

    Regrets...anyone?

Absolutely! 100% agree! 👍👏thank you so much for your Insights and experiences that you are sharing, it really lifts a lot of stress anxiety and fear that is building up! 😊🙏
  16. Hi, thats really interesting, as far as the doctors are saying, is the hiatus hernia is caused by weight gain and when its repaired you need to lose the weight as well or it just comes back! As I've been struggling with a hiatal hernia for years and finally they're going to repair it, now I'm baffled😳😕 Well all the best to you hope your surgery fixes that problem🙏
  17. Hi thanks for that 😊 I was told that once you lose the weight the hernia will go away but if you gain it back it will come back, I was weighing 240 lbs in December I now weigh 214 Ibs, have managed to lose some by cutting down on my portion size carbs and sugar prior to surgery and hoping that the hernia will not come back as I've been advised by the doctors, I have another 70 lb to lose🤞🤞🤞

    hiatal hernia

Hi! I'm also getting a hiatus hernia repair and gastric bypass at the same time, I've had my hernia for several years and I've not had that pain as you described rather I've had a lot of acid reflux if I had anything to eat a couple of hours before bedtime, even water! and it will rush up with acid burning my oesophagus so badly, I would be sitting up all night, awake! As soon as my inner organs whent into sleep mode the acid would rush up its teribble! I only take small sips of water when I go to bed to avoid the acid reflux trigger, hopefully with this surgery that'll all go away, my surgery is due on the 27th of April, scared but excited and enthusiastic at the same time [emoji4] well hopefully most of my problems will have gone when I lose the weight [emoji1696][emoji1696][emoji120][emoji120][emoji120] Sent from my SM-N981B using BariatricPal mobile app

    Regrets...anyone?

Good on you! and well done! for not thinking negatively and giving up because of the nausea and the bad sides of it it's good to focus on the positives and keep going having a high self-esteem it's something that I haven't had for a long time and I'm really hoping that this surgery will change all that regardless of the negative sides[emoji4][emoji106] Sent from my SM-N981B using BariatricPal mobile app

    Regrets...anyone?

Hi ms.ss I've been reading these blogs since I've joined a couple of days ago and there are many who are not happy with their outcome problems with nausea vomiting cramps and some even think of reversing the surgery not happy with the results, I hope they overcome all that and are content with the overall outcome of it.. on the other hand it's so good to see positive feedbacks as well to give us courage and motivation! as the more I read negative feedbacks the more I'm stressing of what is waiting for me ahead, it's daunting for some of us who are scared of what waits around the corner, will I regret it, will I be happy that I did it this, it's a mystery lol THAT I will have to wait and see till after the 27th of April lol it's nice to see that you're doing well and confident and happy with yourself I'm hoping to feel the same eventually[emoji120][emoji4] [emoji4]Good on you wish you all the best[emoji106][emoji3590][emoji120][emoji3590][emoji4][emoji106]Sent from my SM-N981B using BariatricPal mobile app
