Did your doctor give you anything for acid control? Pls let the doc know tmw. In the meantime you might try small sips of Water 2-3 oz an hour. It is very small sips but they add up. If it is possible cold pressed coconut Water. No pulp no flavor, that might sooth a bit. Go slow, carry on, communicate with your doc.

    Be Well

They gave me 40mg of panteprozole and I messaged my doctor and let him know the troubles I’m having, hopefully they can put me on a different medicine and up the dose to help with the reflux. I have been able to get down 4 more oz of water so that makes me happy!

  2. I had my sleeve surgery on Wednesday. Don’t remember any of Wednesday, was throwing up and nauseous and in terrible pain Thursday. Friday I was feeling better so they sent me home. I kept complaining of waves of acid reflux, they kept telling me that’s normal. I am miserable. I’m taking the acid medicine they gave me, mylanta and Pepcid complete per doctor. Mylanta gives some relief but I still feel like I can take in much at all. I’m weak and drained and kind of second guessing myself. Never struggled with acid reflux before so why now? Is this part of the healing process? Any advice could be great.

THANK YOU!!! You as well. Great job!! We can do this and it will be so worth it!

You're right!!!! My surgery is tomorrow at midnight. LOL. It's Wednesday. I was so nervous at first but now I'm anxious and excited. I'm ready to get it done!!! I hope you get your surgery date soon. Do you have to wait for insurance? I was on the fast track insurance plan. It didn't seem fast but I started going beginning of December and am having surgery April 6th!!

    Hi all!
I still do not know which surgery I am getting as of yet, as my first dietician appt was last week. She has me on a Protein first diet... about 1500 calories a day etc to start getting used to the way I will be eating post surgery. No date yet for surgery,. btw. Assuming June or July.

How many of you had to do this and what did you find eating works good for you? Ive been watching a lot of Youtube videos on what they ate before and after. Im doing a lot of mushy high Protein foods already. Refried Beans with sour cream, Soups, tons of eggs, etc. But for snacking I was told to always eat protein first!!

Im only a week in and I have not had 1 sweet yet! The most sugar I had, was a thing of cottage cheese last night with a teeny bit of strawberry topping and an apple with cinnamon sugar. That is it.

I crave sweets so much. This is so hard.
What worked for you guys in the sweets department pre op?? Did you still lose before your surgery?? I dont NEED to lose before surgery. ,but they dont want me to gain either.

My dietician told me eat sweets in moderation, and obviously I know that... but if its eat protein first, where do I fit in a slice of cake once in awhile?? LOL

Can any of you give me some good food/snack ideas/ plans that worked for you pre op?? As Im writing this, my snack tonight is a cup of vegetable beef Soup that is high in protein.... Is that bad?? lol Pinterest has been a help too.

Sounds to me like you're doing great! I started at 301, got down to 289 in the course of the 3-4 months I've been going to appointments and classes and I am on day 6 of my pre op liquid diet and I am down to 281 as of the night before last! Stick to it, you can treat yourself every once in awhile just don't let yourself slip back into treating yourself all the time. You're doing a great job! Keep it up!

Oh my goodness, I couldn't do work from home right now. It would be torture. The biggest torture right now is cooking for my kids. I always snacked on whatever I was cooking as I cooked so it's been so hard for me to just cook the food!!!! But I'm proud of myself for sticking to it. I didn't think I was going to be able to do it, but I have!

I'm doing about the same thing for my liquid phase. Just one more day to get thru work!

Kimmy Kaye, I find it easier for me to not be distracted when I'm at work. When I'm at home I just keep staring at the goldfish crackers on top of the fridge begging me to eat them. LMAO. :) I'm glad I have someone going through it the same day as me. :) Keep in touch okay?

  7. Surgery is wednesday. I'm on day 6 of 7 pre op liquid diet and it's gotten much easier. The first two or three days were rough but its better now. I find when I drink my Protein Drinks that that fills me up pretty well and I drink the broth for dinner because it relaxes me for bed and then snack on Jello and popsicles if I want. It was not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. I'm getting anxious for surgery but I'm so ready. I'm down 10 lbs just 5 days in this pre op liquid diet!!!! I haven't seen this number in a long long time and I'm really happy!
