  1. I think people are confusing liquid tape with steri strips. I wouldn't do anything with it. Just let it come off on its own, with time. As I said I'm not banded yet, but I'm a nurse, and taking something off before it's ready could cause problems. Just a thought.
  2. Ibuprofen can erode the lining of the stomach
  3. I haven't been banded yet. I'd call your surgeons office and ask them what they recommend.
  4. Thanks for the replys. I'm self pay and don't want to jeopardize anything. I think I'll take off longer than a week. I have some sick time and short term disability, might as well use it. Thanks again! Here goes!! Yay!
  5. Hi. I'm a NICU nurse, getting banded 9/29. Doc said I could have surgery wed, and go btw mon. Just curious any other RNs, or other healthcare professionals, how long did you take off work? Already feel like crap, overwieght and tired, I'm excited about the surgery, but wondering if I should take a couple weeks or so off. Aren't you pretty weak, being on a liquid diet? Thanks for the help!
  6. Mine too. at 11:30. What time is yours? I'm getting excited. Kind of nervous. I've wanted this for so long, and now I'm getting nervous that what if this doesn't work? I know if I do what I'm supposed to, it has to work.
  7. Only a couple more days. Are you getting nervous/excited?
  8. My pre op appt is Thurs 9/25 and my surgery is at 1:30. What time is yours? Are you soooo excited? I have to do the pre op diet for 7-10 days and I'm waiting for Paula to call me for nutrition consult over the phone.
  9. I had my consult appointment today and my surgery date is October 1st. Woo Hoo!!!
  10. I had my consult today, and my surgery date is Oct 1st. Woo Hoo!!!! Congrats to all!!
  11. I FINALLY have my consult with Dr. K today and I'm so excited! I have been reading posts, I've waited it feels like forever. I'm just anxious to get the show on the road. I was denied by my insurance (because I lost some weight to show I was committed to making lifestyle changes) and now don't meet their bmi requirement even though I have comorbidities of pseudo tumor cerebri and sleep apnea/CPAP at night. Pretty sad when I'm a nurse and I work for a healthcare system. Oh well. I can't stand it anymore, have tried everything under the sun so I'm going to self pay. I hope I don't have to wait too long for my surgery date. I'm so glad to read all these positives about Dr. K's office.
  12. I live in Colorado Springs. Does Dr. K's office have you do a psych eval and see a nutritionist all on different days too? It would be nice if it was all on the same day. Oct seems forever away, and I haven't even had my consult appointment yet. I know its not that far, I just need patience. It's not like it will me magically easy after getting banded. I just want to get started!!!!!
  13. That's so awesome! I can't wait for my appointment. Did they do the nutrition consult the same day or do you have to make another appointment for that? I live in Colorado Springs. I want to have the surgery ASAP! Maybe we can help each other.
  14. I don't want to waste any more of my life failing at weight loss. After the frustration of dealing with insurance and finally making up my mind to self pay and just go for it, I can hardly wait for my consult appointment with Dr. Kirshenbaum 8/25. (Denver CO)I'd like to get in touch with someone recently banded or getting ready to be banded so we can help each other.
  15. I was glad to read about this. I've been waiting a long time to do this, and this is the 1st I've heard/read about this. Gross! But still going for it. Sounds like people have some good tips on how to get though/avoid "sliming". Good luck!
  16. I'm in Colorado Springs. I have my consult appt on 8/25. I can hardly stand the wait. These forums are kind of overwhelming.
