  1. I pretty much agree with everyone else! If I am home, sometimes I will get a drink before I eat and then get rid of it once I start eating. If I go out, once I get my food, I push my cup all the way away from me. I also make sure that they do not refil my drink.
  2. I wore my sweats to and from the hospital and a thirt. I went bra commando for the first full week. My top incision was right where my bra sat so I didnt want to bother it. Even the week I went back to work, I was slightly irritated in that spot when wearing my bra.
  3. This was my first surgery and I was VERY scared. They knew I was really nervous so they didnt even tell me when they were putting me to sleep! When I woke up there was no question if they had done the surgery because I could feel the soreness It was weird not being able to do everything for myself. But, to be honest, it was also kind of nice. My hubby took the week off of work with me and we slept in the living room on the couches, because I couldnt sleep in my bed for whatever reason. He got everything I needed for me, made sure I was taking all my meds on time, and constantly making sure I was OK. It was a great bonding time. One week later, I was dying to get out of the house though. The second week I went back to work and took naps in the breakroom around 3 everyday because I was really tired (I walk A LOT at work). Fast forward 3 months and I feel as good as new, but better! So, all this to say...You are going to do great!
  4. REDRUM...You look so much younger in your new pics. Crazy how that happens... Congrats you are doing awesome!
  5. Congrats DREW! I can't wait to be able to shop in "normal" mall stores. I have no idea where I am going to go first!
  6. I don't get that I look fine yet. But, people are always questioning how much more I am going to lose and how that is "possible"..."you can't afford to lose THAT much". I just say, well, we will see when I get closer to that point. I don't know why people think that people constantly need their two cents. KWIM.
  7. I didnt have to de a pre liquid diet (or any diet actually) and I was onto soft foods by the time I went back to work. I also am one that told people at work. But, to be honest, even if I didnt they would've just thought I was on "another diet". I would just say I am doing slim fast for bfast and lunch and that you eat your "dinner" at home...
  8. Yea, thats kinda what I was thinking too. I asked my hubby about them one night (and I didnt show him all of them) and he seemed concerned. At first he was like I have those, then he was like, oh maybe not...LOL I will make an appointment soon. I really dislike my Dr. He never tells me how things go...After my last pap I didnt get a phone call or anything (I also had a sonogram to test for PCOS). I thought I should at least get an ok everything is fine phone call (or doesnt that never happen with docs?). I am going to ask my best friend to feel some of them. Do you think that is ok to ask of a friend? I don't think she would be wierded out if I asked her to "touch my boob" LOL...if she knew I was serious.
  9. I wanted to say thank you to everyone who responded to my post. It really helped a lot to read these. I realized a couple of things today... 1. I really need to track my food because I have no idea how many cal's I am getting. I know in the beginning (like weeks 4-5) I was getting about 600 cals. I don't think that I am that low any more now...But thats just the thing...I have no idea. So, I will try and track again to see if I am close to where I should be calorie wise. 2. I am not alone in this. THANKS TO YOU GUYS! I don't know anyone in real life who is banded so this board is sooo helpful! I wish I had the time to write something to everyone, but I hope you know I really appreciate you all!
  10. Oh I hope it gets better  I was joking with my mom the other day about the reason I havent had any bread or things like that since surgery (pasta, bread, pizza, pancakes, etc.). She said "Oh honey, you can't have pancakes anymore?" and I said "Maybe, but if I gain weight at my next appointment what am I gonna say?!?...Uh...I found out I could eat bread". LOL. I can't even try those things...
  11. Another one for me. I just realized that my feet are not hurting anymore. I used to hardly be able to stand at the end of the day. Now, they are just "normal"
  12. Hey ladies. I have to ask a question that I have been to afraid to actually ask someone in person. Since losing some weight I have been really noticing things about my body. I have a TON of small bumps in my breasts. Some are hard and small, some are big and round. Is this normal? When I feel them, they usually hurt afterward. Next, I also have bumps on my stomach. Like above my pelvic bone, below my belly button. There is one that is big (maybe quarter width) and some small ones. I have even felt bumps on my ribs. So, does this sound normal? Old fat cells? I just don't know!
  13. I have been having the same problem. I am 3 months out (almost). Do you have myspace? maybe we can keep each other a little more accountable... myspace.com/mrsjess
  14. I have been a very bad girl. Parts of me just want to keep quiet and "deal" with it. But, I know that if I do that I wont stop, so here goes... I have been binging very bad lately. I realized a few weeks ago that I could "actually" eat more than 1/2 cup at a time. I kept pushing it and pushing it to see how far I could go at a time. Nights have been REALLY bad for me. I come home, have dinner, then want something else, then something else. I have to stop eating all the time! One thing I also have to confess is that I am a little afraid of getting a fill. I can assumet that if I get one that this will no longer be possible. But, I am afraid of only being able to eat a "tiny" bit. I like the fact that I can eat semi normal and still lose. Please do not scold me...I just needed to let it out and I know that I am being bad! My next appointment is in May and I will get a fill then. I had my band placed in January and was filled at that point, none since. I have lost 43 pounds and keep losing steadily. But, I know that is going to stop if I DONT STOP. Thanks for listening!
  15. My Dr. set mine to 140 pounds. The smallest I ever remeber being is 185-190 and that was my Junior year in H.S. When I started my current job 4 years ago I was at 215 and that was pretty good for me. So, my first goal is that, Second goal is 185, then down to the 140!
  16. I think part of it is mental too. I could "technically" wear the same pants that I did in my before photo. But, would they look as good as my smaller jeans?!? NOPE. I think that we get so used to seeing ourself everyday that we are just used to wearing the clothes out of habit. I have to dress "professional" at work, and there were some ladies who (as politely as they could) kept telling me everytime I should no longer be wearing certain clothes. So, give it a shot and try on some smaller stuff. I agree too, that you may not have been wearing the "right" size to begin with. So, that could be why it is taking longer also. The weight is coming off and you will notice soon enough :tongue_smilie:
  17. I had a great NSV today! A client that I worked with about a year ago came in today and said "Wow, you've lost a lot of weight". Its nice that people can notice a difference too!
  18. Months before surgery I bought a pair of size 20 slacks from Target on Clearance. I just figured that I would eventually be able to wear them. When I bought them I couldnt even button them. We had to start wearing more "professional" clothes so I thought, I may as well see where I am in those pants. Well,...They barely fit!!! I seriously almost missed my opportunity with them At work today (I've been wearing them for 3 weeks now) a coworker said they are too big for me.
  19. I love seeing B&A's of people my own age Here are mine...the recent is a from 25 pounds down. I will take another after 8 more pounds when I am at 50 down.
  20. I worry about it too! I have been really scruitinizing my body lately. I don't want to be skinny and ugly! KWIM? I wish I knew what I would look like exactly when I get to goal!
  21. I lost like 35 pounds in 2 month
  22. I've never done a challenge on the boards before so I'm in! Put me down for 12 pounds.
  23. I have also been wanting to come and "confess". We are pretty close in weight loss and I am at the same point. I have been eating more than I should at servings and wanting to have sweets quite a bit. I was doing SO good! Now, I feel like I am slowly losing control again. I even have great restriction (so I thought) I don't get hungry very often. But, I was able to eat a full 5 layer nacho at lunch today (this was the first time I tried to eat the whole thing). Usually I just stop when I've had a few bites... Well sorry to write such a long post in your thread  But, I just wanted you to know you are not alone...
  24. I'm sooo sorry about that. I couldnt imagine feeling that way on my honeymoon. You deserved to feel sexy that week. sorry those pigs took that away from you!
