Girl I feel literally the exact same. I was sleeved on 3/11/22 and I have been feeling a lot of regret. I barely get any Protein in, if any. I also have found that I am nauseated by basically everything. The thought of eating makes me nauseous. I too have been told to take it day by day… I found that “Chicken and Stars” Soup sits pretty well with me… good luck to you - I’m sure it all gets better

Hugs! It’s the worst feeling ever… I will have to try that soup! I have been living on egg drop Soup and Decaf ice tea. I’m going to try to eat some Turkey or chicken deli lunch meat to see how that sits in my stomach.

I hope it gets easier for you too!

Lol yes you would be outcasted j/k No but I know that was a terrible feeling for you. I made tuna salad during my purée phase and my stomach was like no ma’am after just one bite lol

But maybe you can try Lactaid. I drink that and I love it. Also after reading the wonderful experiences on here people develop the lactose intolerance temporarily and are able to reintroduce it later. Not sure where you fit in that but time will tell. I feel you on giving up on cheese it’s hard but it’s not the end of the world there are some great tasting alternatives out there you can try. Good luck 🍀

I’m 4 weeks post op, I’m hoping it’s just my tummy being stubborn and it will mellow out once my nerves calm down. I was also thinking that maybe my gut bacteria is out of wack too but not sure if I would be able to drink Yakult or some other Probiotics (I can’t do Kefir) I did pick up some Fairlife milk. My main concern is I’m not getting the required Protein in per day but my Water intake has gotten to be more each time.

  3. So I am a dairy lover and thought it would be a good idea to try and get some Protein in by drinking some milk… boy did I regret that later that night! I had major bloating and gas pain that I had to take Tylenol for just to get comfortable. Is this a common thing after gastric sleeve and will it go away? I can’t live without my cheese and dairy products, my WI family would disown me! Lol, not really but you know how us Cheeseheads are about our dairy.

  4. Thank you all so much for the kind replies… I really appreciate it. 🤗

I’m going to try and take it day by day because that’s all I can do at this point, right? I tried to have some eggs this morning but only got a few bites it and felt like the food is stuck in my stomach… just been drinking Water to try and push it through if it is really not moving through my stomach.

    Hello,

I'm in a very similar boat right now. I can't seem to get enough Protein or Water in a day. I'm dehydrated and exhausted. I'm also noticing that I'm beginning to feel depressed and discouraged. As a result, I'm a little snippy with my loved ones. Honestly, I wish I could turn back the hands of time and never get surgery. It doesn't seem worth it anymore.

I've also developed this sharp pain in my right side by my incision, and it hurts so bad I can barely bend over.

I had this very same thing, my surgeon said that it’s all the internal sutures used to close your gut cavity and then the incision they made through your abdominal muscle and then the main incision. They said it will go away with time once those sutures dissolve. Mine has gotten a bit better over a few days thankfully but I still can’t get food down with being gaggy.

  6. Hello all, first post here…

I had the sleeve done on 2/23 and I’m really struggling physically and emotionally. I’m not getting the Protein or Water intake like I should be because nothing is appealing to me. I’m sick of Protein Shakes, and nothing else tastes good to me. I’m on the puréed diet which I think can be moved to soft food but even that it just doesn’t appeal to me. As for water I am getting roughly 20-30oz a day by sipping which is really hard for me because I’m used to chugging 16 oz bottles at a time. Pre-surgery I was getting about a gallon a day. I feel thirsty all the time and I’m tired because of the lack of protein. I’m just at a loss and really regretting all of this and just want to cry all the time, on top of all this I just found out that my other half is leaving (military) for several months.
