  1. So I just had my consult for my sleep study and I will have that in a couple of weeks. Then on the 31st I have my scope. I just feel things are taking so long in the process. I really hope that after my scope it's not too long after they schedule my surgery. Started this process the end of January. Sent from my SM-S908U1 using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Hello, I am still a little bit out from getting my surgery as I still have to have the sleep study consult and throat scope. I'd like to be your buddy as I dint really have anyone to talk to about this process. Have a great night! Sent from my SM-S908U1 using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. So for the last 30 years I've always ate fast. Since deciding to get the surgery I've been definitely chewing my food extra good and have slowed down I just dont think its slow enough. Any suggestions to slow it down even more? Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Starting the process

I'm kind of in the same boat. I dont think I'm eating healthy enough and seems like I can't get enough to eat. I don't know when my surgery is yet so I have time to keep working at it. Hang in there. It'll be worth it. Sent from my SM-S908U1 using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. I am working on my goals before surgery and I've gotten down not drinking while eating and waiting 30 minutes. Ive also gotten the chewing down as well. My problem is I can't seem to slow down the eating. I feel like im failing, like I have to have everything perfected before surgery. Just needed to vent... 7. Thanks for your comment. You are probably right about me doing things too soon and trying to be perfect. It will all fall into place and things will be well! Sent from my SM-S908U1 using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. I figure as long as I'm chewing good thats a plus! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. Thats what I'm thinking that maybe once the surgery happens and I wont want to eat I will learn that skill of slow eating. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. I was the same way. I know people that have had both procedures done. I asked my dr after reading online that if you had any acid issues its recommended to get the bypass done. You will be less likely to have any acid issues. With the sleeve you will have more issues. Im nervous about getting the bypass but I know it'll be worth it. If only I could slow down eating... but practice makes perfect and I have time to practice. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Slow eating

I've got from eating in 10 minutes to 20 minutes. Ive been told to make it 30. I just have to learn to stop and wait a minute in between. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

  13. So I am in the beginning stages of this journey and I am anxious and excited. I have to get a sleep study, an EKG, an Endoscopic procedure, and psych eval done. It is all a little over whelming. Im focusing on making some of the changes now that I will face after surgery. How did everyone cope with the waiting? 14. Not sure how the surgery is the easy way out. Does he understand how much work we will have to do the rest of our lives? Watching what we eat and how much of it as well. Taking our vitamins routinely so we don't get sick. We still have to get our exercise. It is just a tool to help us get to where we want to be. We have to work at it to stay that way. Hope your hubby comes around. We need all the support we can get. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
