  1. Hi guys this was a really big week for me Sunday I got on the scales dropped another 3 pound. That put me at GOAL, I am now just OVERWEIGHT. After going 5 or 6 weeks with little or no weight loss in these past two weeks I dropped 6 pounds, during this period I stopped keeping a food log and the band does work it makes you stop eating but then I started the log again this week and found their are days I only would get 50 grams of Protein and other days 100 grams so for me think I will continue the logs. Not sure what I will do from here except to just keep eating the same for awhile.

  2. Hi Guys Last week was good to me lost another 3 pounds puts me at 225 only 6 from just overweight. Mike looks like the challenge is on you at 4 and me at 6 you can do it lets go for it.

Rick you were the one that inspired me in the beginning when I was first looking into the Band with your Journey postponements and all 77 pounds is nothing to sneeze at and don't forget I am retired have more time to work at doing the work.

GuyMontag great job 61 pounds from Feb 13 outstanding.

  3. Hi L.J.

I will Celebrate my 6 Month banding day the 19 day of this Month so far I have lost 88 pounds.

My Doctor does not ask us to watch Calories. He asks us to watch are Protein intake, wants it to be between 60 - 70 grams a day and to only eat 3 meals a day, no Snacks and to take Protein Drinks (between meals) as required to make up the requirement.

Drink 48 - 64 oz Water preferred every day.

Exercise is the most important requirement I walk 2.1 Miles ever day takes me around 45 minutes but then I walk slow.

I do keep a food log book which does include Calories and for me they average around 800 to 1000 a day.

Exercise daily is you most important requirement to steady & sufficient loss.

    Good Luck

  4. Hi Keri Sorry to here you are having problems with your last fill. From what you are saying I assume you have the Lap Band System and a 10cc Band? That is the Band that my Doctor used for me. I have just recently signed up on My LAP-BAND Journey and found out that what we call a 10cc Band is technical a 9.7/10cc with a Max fill of 14cc. So you are not as close to max fill as you think hope this helps you to not be so concerned.

  5. Hi Guys things have slowed down some for me but lost two more pounds slow for me but not a gain. Think my foot problem might be behind me now it was just skinny feet, lost the fat feet or padding on the soles, had to build that back up slowly by just walking short distances but got it back up to two Miles today and felt good.

Now at 228 and only 9 pounds from just over weight.

  6. 7_2_210.gif Old Goat, we are so proud of you. How does it feel to be leading the pack of notorious novembers at number of pounds lost? Keep on climbing those mountains as you keep on losing.

Just want to thank you for such kind words.

Been about a month since I last posted but I have lost 7 more pounds, even with some foot problems that had just about stopped my walking. Had real bad pain on the soles of my feet, talked to my Doctors nurse found out the most probable cause it's Official now I have Skinny feet, no padding or fat feet.

Today for the first time in a long time got myself back up to walking two miles. Then went and bought some fresh ground Peanut Butter came home and cut the grass. My energy is just off the scale without the 85 pounds I no longer have to pack around.

I am now only 9 pounds away from just being overweight. Now that I am able to walk ever day again got my eye focused on the goal again.

    I am 7.1 cc's in a 9.7/10 cc band max fill 14cc

Scheduled for another fill this week.

As for what I eat I am able to eat anything I want. 5 oz would be max for me at meal time I only eat 3 meals a day and do not eat between meals works for me.

My current weight is 228 pounds.

  9. Hi Guys

Well I did loose one pound last week.

This lack of walking has slowed down the weight loss. I still think the foot problem was a stone bruise to the ball of my foot, but I am very hopeful the last two nights I have been able to walk .5 miles with no pain. Will keep working at it with crossed fingers. Wish me luck.

  10. EVO you took the first step by posting asking for help. The simple 2nd step might be to post twice a week and tell us what you are doing to get back on track. Posting is a form of accountability as you know.

  11. Hi Mike great Doctor news. Must feel great to be no LONGER OBESE. Here is a Pat On The Back keep up the good work. I stayed the same last week but I only have 16 more to move from OBESE it will happen. Still having a problem with my foot and not able take long walks but getting better.

Great job GuyMontag two miles a day is what I do when I walk it works the weight will just keep coming off keep it up.

  12. Hi Mel

    Weight Loss Surgery is Surgery.

Research on your part is required.

A good book to start with is Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies

The Band is only a tool to help with the hungriness you are still required to eat the proper food in the proper amount and exercise to be successful.

If you still think this for you? I feel you steps are Insurance - Good Doctor - Nutritional Consultant - Licensed Psychologist is a MUST

  13. I know we were all banded around the same time, so I need some help. I have had a horrible stomach virus twice in the past three months, since being banded. This past time, I know I vomited more than my pouch should be able to hold. My husband agrees. I called the dr. and the receptionist scheduled me to see him on Tuesday to be checked. He will probably send me for tests and won't give me a fill. He may take some out, although i have only had one fill. I don't know whether to cancel the appt. or go see him. I have a fill scheduled for 3/18 and I really, really need it. What should I do? I am not in any pain, just worried about actually vomiting. The dr. said originally that we could only vomit what was recently in our stomach. Go to the dr or don't go...what would you do?

I was at my Doctors just last week for a fill. I asked him that very same question, what should I do if I got sick with the flue and vomit a lot? We told me that any time I should do a lot of vomiting that I should call them and be checked it could be a cause of damage to the stomack.

Wish you the best of luck

  14. Hi Lou

I am not your age just a little older banded at 70 years young. Some would say I am doing pretty good. You asked for hints do what the Doctors tell you and it works.

The number one hint is to exercise at least 30 minuets a day walking is what I do.

  15. Hi L.J

I am at week 14 post op and still have no restriction. Have had two fills at 4.5 cc in 10 cc band.

Most of us are told the first month is for healing the new pouch not to loose weight. We are also told to count Protein not calories. Do not over eat and stretch the new pouch.

How much should we eat? This is what my Group told me (You should consume at least 60-70 grams of total Protein daily. A protein supplement will be needed at times. If you are unable to consume 60-70 grams of protein in solid food, you should use protein supplement. They must be low in carbohydrate <6 gm.)

    Good Luck
