  1. I at least got to sleep last night in the recliner. I wasn't in pain that I know of while a sleep. But this morning I'm feeling it again. I also can't take a deep breath. That sends pain in my ribs and thru my shoulders
  2. Tomorrow will be day 3 from for me. So I pray I wake up and the gas pains be gone.
  3. The nurses acted as if there was no reason to get pain meds. They are probably correct be nothing is helping me.
  4. I have been. While in the hospital I just started walking on my own. I thought someone would make me walk but no one ever came to say you need to go walk. I walked a lot in my room and since I've gotten home I'm walking every where in the house. If I hadn't walked on my own. I can only imagine how bad the pain would be.
  5. They said that there's nothing they can do for gas pain. I was given pain meds right after I woke up from surgery. I asked twice for pain medicine. They gave me Benadryl the first time ??‍♀️ And the second time they finally gave me a pain pill. But honestly it didn't help. My surgeon did fill a pain pill prescription. But so far it just makes me sleepy. The pain is still there.
  6. I actually said the same thing. I felt like I had been dropped. I know I wasn't but the pain is unbearable. My chest doesn't hurt. But under my rib cage does. Even when my husband ups me up. The pain is horrible. I feel like im going to rip open my new stomach.
  7. I figured that where I'll be sleeping tonight.
  8. I had my surgery on Tuesday 4/26. I'm in awful pain in my shoulders, neck and rib cage. How long does it take for the gas to leave your body. I'm walking a lot to help. I just can get comfortable any where. I'm not able to get up from a chair if I sit back to far. I can not lay down in bed. The pain is horrible. I knew I would hurt but I never thought I couldn't get comfortable.
  9. Same here today nurses are short staffed They have been in a couple of times but no pain medicine ?‍♀️
  10. I had my surgery today. They had to fix a hernia. The gas pains are NO joke. I'm doing good so far.
  11. Thank you so much. I haven't had a lot of pain medicine so far.
  12. Well. I had my surgery this morning. Yes gas pains are awful. I feel pretty good except for the pain in my shoulders and neck. They fixed a hernia. So he admitted me. I will be staying over night. I'm fine with that. We packed overnight bags just in case. So we are good.
  13. I'm self pay. But it's not about the money. I think it's 600 more if I stay the night. I'm 49 with bmi of 35. No health problems besides blood sugar issues. That's all getting better being on a liquid diet. I think the reason the Doctor has told me I can go home the day of, is because if no health issues. My coworker was told to stay overnight. Be had other health issues but she told me she wasn't in pain and felt like she could have gone home. With with her health issues he wouldn't allow it. (We are using the same Dr). At this point it's unknown how I'll feel. But I will know by this time tomorrow. My surgery is scheduled for 8am. ?
  14. You are probably correct on the BMI. Yes mine is lower then most. I do have fatty liver but it's not extremely high levels.
  15. Why not leave if I'm released by my Dr? If I'm doing good then why not leave? If My Dr says I'm good to go, why not leave? When meeting with my surgeon he was the one to say I could leave same day. I did Not ask to go home say day. He also said if I feel like I need to say he will admit me. i asked this question to give me some sort of idea of what to expect and if anyone had actually gone home and if they did ok. im not in a "rush" to get home. I'm going by my Doctors recommendation only at this point.
  16. Thanks y'all. Yes I am lucky. My insurance wouldn't cover surgery. So I am self pay. I think that makes the difference in the pre-op diet. I'm trying to stay busy to keep my mind off "food." But the hunger pain are pretty bad right not lol. I might go to bed early and sleep through it ?. Hoping tomorrow will be better.
  17. OMGoodness. This liquid diet is sooooo hard. I'm soooo hungry ?. Please tell me that it's not this hard after surgery. My surgery is this Tuesday. Im lucky I only have to do this pre-op diet for 2days ?‍♀️
  18. I always put my coke or Dr Pepper in the freezer before I drink it lol. I'm not saying I will drink soda again. But I was curious about it sometime after surgery. I'm reading no straws. But my doctor has not said anything about not using straws. My coworker that had the surgery in January still drinks thru a straw ??‍♀️
  19. Ok this is kind of what I was asking. (I just didn't word it correctly.) Is it physically possible. I'm ok not drinking them.but there are occasions I like to drink a good Carbonated soda. Especially when I have a cold ??‍♀️ I was just wondering if the carbonation had side effects after surgery in the future. Thanks for this info
  20. I'm not a big soda drinker but there are occasions that I like to drink a coke or Dr Pepper. I was just curious if it's a forever thing.
  21. I'm hearing different things...... so can you eventually drink carbonated drinks after your surgery?
  22. Mine is the 26th also. I'm getting very nervous.
  23. So does everyone that get WLS have to get these shots?
  24. I believe it's a insurance requirement thing here. I could be wrong tho. Because I'm having WLS but I'm self pay (my insurance would not cover it). I didn't have to go months trying to prove I could lose weight. I also don't have to do the 2 week liquid diet. I only have to do 2 days of the liquid. So self pay and insurance requires totally different treatments.
