Same day for me! I'm having the sleeve done. I got my blood work, EKG and chest X-rays done last week. My Vitamin D is low and Iron so I have a prescription for the Vitamin D and prenatal vitamin for the iron. My PCP has signed off and now I just have to wait. To be honest, the nerve wracking part for me was making sure all those steps were completed and now that they are, I feel less anxious. Just take one day at a time!I received a call today and my gastric bypass surgery is April 6th. It felt like it was taking forever and now that I have a date I am really nervous. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have pre-surgery appointment on March 22nd and assume I will get all the information that day.

Constipation is already an issue for me so a big concern after surgery. Thanks for the heads up!So happy to report I finally got some Bowel relief. The Colace, Miralax, and fluids were definitely a factor but what really made it come along was using my squatty potty. I forgot I had one because pre surgery it wasn’t that helpful but I guess post surgery it will be now. Lol [emoji23] [emoji90] I never thought I would get so excited about a BM I was always regular. Sleeve was 2/28, exactly a week ago.

Didn't they take pics of you at your surgeon office? Mine did. I am going to do my own along with my measurements too. My surgery is in April.I hate having my photo taken as well and I did have my husband take a couple but not the angles that I would like to have now because I didn’t want him to see them. I didn’t think of it but later my aunt said why didn’t you ask the nurse at your doctors if she minded taking a few photos. I thought that was a great idea.

I dislike having to get my ducks in a row yet before surgery. Setting up my time off with HR, doing the last minute stuff that needs to be done. Otherwise, very excited to start a new chapter in my life. I've been overweight since birth, quite seriously. I was 2 ounces shy of 12 pounds. To be honest, I don't hold out much hope of never being overweight, but getting out of obese and morbidly obese categories thrills me. Don't get me wrong, I am in this 100% and plan to do my very best. Just hard to imagine me not being "me" if that makes sense?Hi KimmyKaye!!
I look forward to following your journey!
How are you feeling about it? x

Robe was on the list of things to bring from my doctor office but having had previous surgeries, I know that's not practical with iv's. I have a poncho that I wear and it only goes over the head. It's kinda my Linus blanket too (super soft) so that's going with me instead. It's long enough to use for walking in the halls and covering my tush. LolI was totally going to bring a robe... and like a nightgown type thing. I didn't think about the wires at all.. this makes so much sense.

My surgery is scheduled for 4/6. I'm in the same boat you are, excited and nervous. Gastric sleeve surgery for me. I have stocked up on some Protein Shakes trying various ones out but my friend, who had sleeve surgery said what worked for her pre surgery didn't end up working after so not to stock up too much. I am 57 years old, tomorrow 2/17 and my top weight was 438. I am at 373 now. Bad knees and hip bursitis are final straw to commit to losing weight and gaining a healthy lifestyle. My surgery is scheduled 4/8. I'm excited but, also super nervous [emoji27]. What are you guys packing for the hospital? Are ya'll stocking up on liquids (broth and Protein Shakes etc.) now?
