  1. I'm lucky that I didn't have any health issue despite being obese. We have diabetes in our family (both sides) and my changes of getting it was very high. I'm planning to take my kids to a theme park in December and I can't wait to try all the rides now that I can
  2. You made the right choice for sure! I hope you are feeling better already
  3. I've always dreaded flying. Having to always ask for seat belt extenders and getting "the look" whenever I get up to go to the toilet and ask the person next to me to move. Not anymore 😀. I flew back home in July 22 and for the first time in 20+ years I didn't need the extenders. I felt veery comfortable in my coach seat and there was enough room between my belly and the food tray. Looking forward to my next flight already
  4. I hope all goes well with you. Good luck with the surgery
  5. I totally agree with this approach. Learning from one's "mistakes" is the way to go.

    Eating Hurts - Any Tips?

I agree with the others. The best advice that my sister (who had her surgery three weeks before mine) gave me was to chew, chew and chew some more. Take your time and stop eating if it starts to hurt. You will learn your limits as you go. I found that black pepper was the culprit in my case and I stopped adding it to my food until 3 months after the surgery. Chicken, meat and eggs were particularly difficult for me. Yogurt (low fat) was my go to food. Also try to avoid drinking water for at least half an hour after you eat. It will be difficult at first but it will get better. Hang in there!

    Ring Size?!

It makes sense to wait until the weight stabilizes. I'm struggling with clothes now as I have to buy new ones almost every other month. I can't do the same with my wedding ring tho. I will keep the old one and just get another fitting one. Maybe do it next year for our 10th wedding anniversary 😀
  8. I totally agree. I've bought new clothes from brands that I've always wanted to get but couldn't and it feels awesome every time I have it on. Well done!
  9. Hi guys. I will soon be down to 100 kg (from 149 kg in late January 22) and have been thinking of rewarding myself for achieving this milestone 😀. I wonder how did you guys reward yourselves when you reached your goal weight? or during the journey. The new iPhone sounds like a good start 🤣 specially with my 40th birthday around the corner. We deserve some self-love, right.
  10. That is awesome! I was also fatter around the waist and had big thighs to match. Not anymore now. I've a balanced body shape now but still need to lose some more weight.
  11. Congratulations and well done! I started buying jeans that are 4 - 6 size smaller and keep on trying them on to see if they fit haha. To lazy to use a measuring tape. I have bought new khaki's from my favorite brand in size 32" and can't wait to be able to wear them. I'm now wearing size 36".

    Goal!

Congratulations and well done! I can't wait to reach mine. 29 Kg to go

    Ring Size?!

I've lost 50 kg so far (in 8 months) and my wedding ring keeps on sliding off my finger when my hands get wet. Planning to get it replaced in December.
  15. Now that is interesting! Have fun. You deserve it
  16. Congrats! Good luck reaching your goal. You got this 💪. A vacation in Hawaii is perfect. Enjoy
  17. A side by side comparison between my 35th birthday photo and the current one (I didn't take one for my 40th birthday yet but the photo on the right was taken a day before at Site).
  18. Thank you so much! I couldn't agree more.
  19. That is amazing! I'm glad you are feeling better now and don't need your meds anymore.
  20. I was sorting my laundry yesterday and noticed that my (now much smaller and fitting) shirts have no creases on them although I've been wearing them all day to work. Having a smaller belly certainly helps 😂😂.

    Six months

Congratulation and you are doing an amazing job. You are definitely better than me in following the post-op diet. I've only lost 50 Kg (110 lbs) or so in seven months (which I still feel awesome about). I didn't start the diet until after the surgery tho. I also don't get hungry but find myself snacking a lot these days specially when I'm at work. I now bring some sliced cucumber / almonds with me to snack on during the day. I usually take two slices of cucumber or two almonds and the urge to eat is gone. Enjoy your upcoming trip and remember to take a lot of photos and try all the rides. Have fun!
