  1. hey everyone. i was banded on oct 13 and lost consistenly until this week. i am now up 4 pounds. i have not had a fill yet, not until dec 3. but i am on soft foods and eat 4 times a day ( 3 meals and a snack). after what i used to eat, shouldn't i still be losing. i exercise at least 5 times a week. very discouraged at this time. then my hubby was talking to someone and said 'she only lost 12 pounds since surgery'. i was so upset and said 'only?' until i started gaining i was feeling pretty good, but with the gain i am very upset. and long timers that can enlighten me, please do.:smile2:

Chin Up!!!! if you have only gained 4 lbs then your still in the good! you will go up and down by atleast 5 lbs at any point in time.... you must becareful to pay close attention to what you are eating tho... it could be Water weight, it could be you period, it could be the salt in your diet... so chin up your on the right path!!

    surgery date: 12/18/09

loss weight to date: 90 lbs

  2. I want to give Dr. Robbins a shout out for putting Southeast Alabama on the Lap-Band map! I am set for my 7th month weight in on 11/17 and get my surgery date on 11/20. Please say a little prayer for me that BCBS of Alabama will respond quickly with an "Approved" for surgery and that I will be scheduled the 3rd week of December for surgery.... I don't want to go through the Holidays with not having it done.

I also want to say "Congrats" to us all for making a stand to take care of ourselves. I know that I am so guilty for taking care of others in my life that I have let myself go in a direction that is not good for me. So again "Congrats" to all of us on taking our stand on weight loss.

  3. my insurance company also requires this 6 month diet. my doctor said that the reason is to see if you are really series about having this done. You need to try to loose weight and follow the 2 week pre-op diet by your doctor. You cannot weight more than you did when you first started this process with your doctor or they will refuse it. With that being said you should not try and kill yourself to loose 100lbs either. This 6 months is to help you get prepared for your new life after being banded.
