  1. I was banded March 7th 2006 and had my first fill of 3.2cc last thursday. I have hardly felt restriction and just keep looking at the scars thinking 'were they really worth it' !

I was told liquids for a week then mushies another week. liquids lasted 2 days and mushies another 2. I havent pushed it but I dont feel full or satiated when i eat foods and would like to know how it feels to be nicely restricted and feeling like youve eaten enough...

    :help:

  2. Banded 7th March 2006

Pain unbearable, i had been trying to go but only managing tiny amounts and put it down to only having Fluid in my diet.

Wow that was a bad experience and when you read about Constipation it highlights the importance of staying hydrated because if you are dehydrated your body takes the Fluid from your pooh to hydrate itself. Ergh, no wonder i was feeling CRAp all the time :sick

Anything else to beware of out there ???

  3. :paranoid I was struggling with the toilet something that's never happened before. Well it happened and it happened in a seriously painful manner where the paramedics came out and performed an enema.

Now i'm exactly the opposite and can't stop going and have the runs :)

Anyway, for the naive people like me, post-op make sure you are regular and if not make steps to correct this even if it means contacting your GP.

Constipation @ this level is not recommended dont ignore it!!!!

  4. I have been on fluids for 12 days post op now and the thing is although i have been very comfortable with the food restriction, it doesn't feel like i'm banded at all.

I can gulp down fluids if i'm thirsty and I reckon I could eat a big Sunday lunch LOL. This is what worries me after hearing about PB'ing and leads me on to my question.

Will i recognise i'm banded when the soft food starts or am i going to eat too much one day and make myelf poorly...

  5. Ok i was banded on 7th march and in consider myself to have recovered very quick and fairly comfortable with how i feel to an extent.

However, i am feeling nauseaus most of the time and although it is mild and is keeping my appetite at bay i'm uncomfortable with it or the thought of it for an extended period.

Will it go away is my question because the more i feel it the more i think 'oh no' is this the new me, is his the sacrifice i have had to make. Does it start to overstay it's unwelcome . . .

  6. Mine have changed since the pre-op diet of yoghurt & milk ergh i was just chucking it down my throat... Post op all i wanted was a nice cup of tea. Then my small smoothie was allowed and (every) teaspoon full was sampled by my senses and i really appreciated what i was eating.

Today i tried some of the yoghurt i'd been cringing at having to eat, it was really tasty... Bring on the other foods...

  7. Had mine fitted on the 7th so day 2 and I'm glad to get the General Anasthetic out of my system, plays with your head that stuff. I felt great after the OP otherwise so fingers crossed.

I am on fluids but today sipping Water is about my intake and i'm feeling nauseaous constantly, think i may have overdone it yesterday when i came home i just couldnt rest..
