Thank you! Its funny... looking like a different person. One of my moms, who I grew up with from 5 years until 20, and then of course had regular contact with ever since, but had not seen in about 10 months since my surgery at one point, actually didn't recognize me. I had to look her in the face and tell her it was me. We were meeting for dinner while she was in town. It was hilarious!
  2. WELL CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!!!!!!!! I hit my original goal yesterday, and had spin class that day so I shared it with them. They have been so supportive over the last year, and they were yesterday too. I changed the goal about a month ago though, so for now I think 15 or 20 more pounds. I would say, if you are happy here, concentrate on maintaining? I maintained for about five months (October 2009 to the end of February) and I was so proud of myself for actually maintaining. I am back on the losing track now. Again, congratulations!!!! WAY TO GO!!!! *****BELLS, WHISTLES, AND FIREWORKS*****

    My face along the journey

I have only recently gotten some body shots, but still have to scan them in. Someone was kind enough to sneak shots of me over the last two years and gave me the album so I could see my progress... these are just from my webcam, so they are just of my face. I will post full body shots as soon as I remember to scan them in! They go backwards, and the first shot is about a month after surgery at which point I had lost about 50 pounds.

    Painful Gas!!

I had the gas/shoulder pain for a lot longer than I want to tell you since it might scare you even more! (OK, mine lasted 5 weeks!!!) IT IS PAINFUL! BUT WORTH IT!!! Walking was the only thing, and deep breathing. Breathing will actually help your body remove the gas... respiration as it is. Walking, breathing and meditating is what worked for me. The day I realized the pains were gone were such a good day!!!! Good luck to you all! This is just the beginning of the best thing you have ever done for yourself.... and its ALL FOR YOU!
  13. You can't find much info on me because I keep forgetting to post things about me! I only recently got some before and after photos of me... I never liked my photo taken and my step sister sneakily took them over the last couple of years and then gave me a little photo album so I could see what I have done! Now I just have to get to scanning and adding them.... Good luck to you too! And sorry it took me so long to respond!

  14. I am SOOOO sorry it took so long to notice you left this message!!!!! I actually made this up, and try to live by it every day. Thank you for the compliment. :)

  15. Thank you for your kind words! Its been a long, strange and wonderful journey for me. I am not sure what assistance I can be, but if there is anything I can do to help out let me know!

  16. An old Weight Watchers trick my mom used to use... lowfat cottage cheese blended smooth in a blender or food processor. I have never tried it, but she swore by it. Just an idea!
  17. Yup, ditto to everyone else. My schedule... breakfast (shake) at 6:30, spin at 7:00, small snack around 10, small snack around 12, proper lunch at 2, dinner around 7 and the occasional small snack in the evening if I feel I need it. I just make sure all Snacks and meals are nutrient dense, go for Proteins first, and if still hungry a bite or two of a veg or fruit. And in between I fill the void with Water, but of course not within an hour before or after a meal. It's nearly impossible if I don't meticulously plan every day. I made it through six months of self-imposed no restriction and still managed to lose 10 or 15 pounds while attempting to maintain. Worked for me, but I am sure it wouldn't work for everyone.

Banded Living- Is This the EZ Way Out?

NOT the easy way out, my only way out. Its been difficult, and will continue to be. I am a food addict. Every day, hour, moment can be a struggle. But I keep at it, and I pick myself up and dust myself off when I fall off the wagon in the ways I have learned to without hurting my band.
