I never really cooked at home pre-op and so I’m having a hard time finding things to eat during the soft food stage. I’ve gotten Snacks that my programs suggests but I’m craving a meal. I rarely eat more than 1-2 times a day. Typically a meal and a snack, so I’m way below on my Protein. My first NUT appointment is the 18th so I’m interested to hear her suggestions. I’ve been eating this way for about 2 weeks now and it’s really wearing on my energy levels. I eat less, workout less and lose less. It’s becoming disheartening. I’m hoping by the 3 month mark when I can have more variety it’ll be a lot easier. I’ve avoided things like chicken noodle Soup and chili thus far. Has anyone tried this at this stage and if so how’d the noodles go? I’m open to any low to no prep food options either from a restaurant or grocery store!
So far I’ve lost about 22lbs since surgery.
Thank you everyone!
I am in the exact same boat. I am not eating enough and definitely not getting enough Protein. I know it sounds gross, but I made chili for my family and blended some for me. It was really good and I had no issues eating it at 26 days post op.

Mine is definitely an allergic reaction to something....just keeping clean and dry and ice packs work best for itchiness

Same here. We have to just give our bodies some grace. It probably is in shock and thinks it is starving. We just have to stay away from sugar and be patient. It will come off!

Me too. How're you doing? My incisions are so incredibly itchy!

I had my surgery Jan 18. I am feeling great except for the unbearable itchiness! I have been using ice packs. Added in a Claritin this morning. I know it is a normal part of the healing process, but I can hardly stand it. Anyone found any way to relieve it?

Good idea. Thanks

Yes. By day 6 you aren't hungry anymore. I have even been making meals for my 6 year old. The food looks good, and I want it, but I am not hungry. So hang in there!

Cleaning up the house, trying to get things in order before I head to the city 2.5 hours away where I will have the surgery Tuesday morning. Excited, scared, all around nervous, ready to have it done.
I will be staying in the city until Saturday to rest up before someone drives me home.
Any tips on what I should pack?
Thanks

Wondering how you are doing following surgery? I'm nervous of the pain and dehydration as well. I am only on day 4 of my 8 day pre op diet and I am extremely nauseous from the Protein Shakes. I just keep telling myself that I am going to feel so much better once I lose this 100 lbs that is putting so much pressure on my body and mind. I have been through hard things before. This is going to be a big commitment, but I am doing this for myself.

After you early Jan patients get your stomachs transformed (congratulations!!!!) And are feeling strong enough, I'd love to hear your recommendations for what I should have on hand for my first week at home.

Just now, WickedAnnie said:It really depends on you. I was able to drive 2 weeks out.
I take a pillow to allow pressure under the seat belt that helps me . It’s supposed to be if you can bend your legs to your stomach with minimal discomfortThank you. That helps

I lost 13.5 pounds post op in the first week but 2nd week and now 3 rd week I lost nothing, but week 2 was before my cycle and week 3 was my cycle.. I’m waiting for my body to get back to normal hormonal levels. I stopped weighing myself daily because it was messing with my head. I know during surgery it was my ovulation time so I expect to lose weight again after my cycle is over up until a week after ovulation and then stall again. Everyone is different but ppl don’t correlate their cycle with their weight loss stagnation or progress enough. Just mu opinion. Once you understand your luteal phase and follicular phase I find this helps tremendously. Best of luck!!
This is good info. I know my hormones play a huge role in my weight even now.
I have an unrelated question, if you don't mind me asking, when were you able to drive?
