  1. If bariatric surgery is specifically excluded in the insurance plan then there really is no way. I have Florida blue and its specifically excluded here in Florida. I ended up paying cash
  2. I had the sleeve and my surgeon only told me to make sure i am taking in a minimum of 800-1000 calories before i start moderate to strong exercise. as for carbs yours suggested a lot more than mine. For me its a max of 40 grams of carbs per day. all these surgeons are so different lol
  3. Water is good for your mental health too. If you drink a gallon of water per day, you wont have time for other people's drama because you'll be too busy peeing. Stay hydrated my friends. lol ?
  4. Ask your questions. ALways someone here who will respond.
  5. Get yourself an Endoscopy done. will easily rule it out and see any issues from the inside
  6. you may be able to get away with that amount with finding a outpatient center that does that surgery. Or save. I live in Florida and i paid cash. Mine was around $20K after all the testing and such.
  7. damn. quick quick quick. I like that i had my own private room in the hospital with nurses and doctors checking on me constantly and checking blood work and doing the blood thinner injections during my stay.
  8. Omg heck no lol. I did the sleeve and i stayed overnight and i am glad i did. there i at least had an IV to keep me hydrated well and got meds thru my IV. For bypass people they typically stay 2 nights (At my hospital at least)
  9. So you hit your 3rd week stall a little early... i did too. ITs normal. and it will happen again and again. the 3rd week stall typically last only a couple weeks. The 3 month stall for me lasted almost the entire month. Dont worry yourself and dont weigh yourself everyday. You will drive yourself nuts. Just stick to the program. i weigh myself once a month.
  10. for a sleeve i like ENDOBARIATRICS in mexico.
  11. I just eat slowly. your phone has a built in timer if you want to go that route. Looking at your profile you had your surgery almost 3 years ago and you seem to be doing very well.
  12. I had one last year. It was very quick. but no time to relax after there... They literally kick you out quick after you wake up which sucked.
  13. steak is not something you really should be eating so soon. while every surgeon is different. In my paperwork it said to avoid steak for at least 6 months. BUt you should be taking your time eating. Taking around 30 minutes or so to eat a meal. At 2 months i was to hit a max of around 600-800 calories which i did without issue. If you eat slow you can typically eat more as it gives time for food to move thru your system but you always want to go nice and slow and chew very well.
  14. I did with my surgeon and my primary doc. I keep a log of my blood pressure readings and they said its fine and normal after surgery. still i keep an eye on it and take my blood pressure twice a day while resting so i can have that info ready on my next visit.
  15. i am almost 5 months post op and i have been drinking coffee since month 1 without issue. I brew my coffee, I use sugar free creamer. My fav is the sugar free Italian sweet cream and for sugar i use Truvia 1 packet. i have 1-2 coffees every night. (I work during the night) I do miss full sugar creamers tho.
  16. Mine is very low too. When i get my readings and put them into some website that lets you know the numbers mean it says i am hypotension. I brought it up at my last doc visit and they said it was fine. I do smoke weed and my blood pressure goes up into a more normal range and my beats per minute go from the low 50's to around 80's
  17. Its the 4th of the month. Which means its time to do my monthly weigh in and measurements. High weight of 317lb. Surgery date April 18th 2022 I have to go buy new clothes again. The clothes i bought last month for work no longer fit and the belt i have put in roughly 7 extra holes in it. Time to replace it lol.
  18. probably because you are using a mobile app... I am using a desktop.
  19. One thing my surgeon said was for smokers they had to quit before surgery and for a while after surgery otherwise the healing can be put in jeopardy. They even said that for smokers who are too addicted to it that they would be given a prescription (i dont know what) I am 4 months post op and i smoke lots of weed lol.
  20. Go to your username and on the little down arrow click it... then click on settings... in settings on the right you will see OTHER SETTINGS and below that says NOTIFICATION SETTINGS. Click on that and then you can edit your email settings.
  21. Nope... Not really. A part of life with this surgery. I am not planning on getting any kind of tummy tuck or anything.
  22. beef jerkey like that i eat all the time. Tho you need to look at the label most of those sticks are not 1 serving but typically 2-5 servings which really sucks lmao
  23. I got the sleeve and at 3 months i was on a stall for almost the entire month. Barely lost anything at all.. It happens.
  24. i was on omeprazole for a year or so. After surgery i was taken off that and put on Pantoprazole 40mg for 30 days. (EDIT: Oops you are bypass, i was sleeve)
  25. its normal to be hungry, You went thru a major change quickly. Stomach will growl and once you move onto solid foods most notice a lot of rumbling when you eat. As for advancing their diet... dont do that. Follow your surgeons plan. Its there for a reason. For you to heal... Advancing too soon could put you at risk. need time for your stomach to heal. I did the patch vitamins only for the first few weeks after surgery. Once i healed up and i was on solid foods i switched to regular capsules.
