Wow 20 years ago you had bypass? That is amazing. I saw someone else on here mention alcohol is causing weight gain for them. Maybe you can switch to a very low carb, calorie beer?

I am also not telling anyone. Only person that will know will be my mom who is taking me for the surgery. I am a person who does not like the support of others. I support myself. But find yourself someone you really trust for your support.

Its specifically Excluded in the paperwork. . So i have health insurance thru the marketplace (Obamacare) and there are certain states where insurance companies are not required to cover bariatric surgery and Florida is one of them. So they exclude it on all their plans thru it. I contacted them asking if they had a plan that covered it and they said no, Not in Florida. Private insurance thru a employer sometimes do cover it. but my employer does not offer health insurance

I am the type of person that would have called the moment i heard insurance approved. Lucky you lol. insurance wont cover me. 18 grand gone out of my bank account is just sad lol

Every surgeon is different. All depends on their schedule and how many people are ahead of you. you could possibly call and simply ask. No harm in doing that.

Psychologist involves the mind... They Typically have no training or education on nutrition... Especially a nutritionist who specializes in weight loss surgery.

My insurance wont cover anything either so i am self pay. I am going for the sleeve. Just waiting on preop crap. as long as you stick to it and do your part, You will be successful with a sleeve. What made me go with the sleeve was all the videos i watched on youtube on all the different weight loss surgeries. as someone already mentioned, Mexico is a option if you want it done cheap... If i was gonna go that route i would want to get it done at Endobariatrics. They only do sleeves. But there are others. last i saw they were around the 10 grand mark. My Sleeve i am paying for here in Florida is costing around $18-19K

Never heard of that procedure. I just googled it https://www.brighamandwomensfaulkner.org/programs-and-services/cwmw/endoscopic-sleeve-gastroplasty Its interesting. I personally dont care about scars and the scars are so little since they are not slicing you wide open. Good luck with Mexico. I thought about going to Endobariatric center there to get my sleeve but decided against it.

I was told bariatric surgery could resolve infertility issues related to PCOS. After I had the sleeve I became very regretful. I know it seems ridiculous. I was so sick of dealing with PCOS. My periods were not coming and I was on a pill to create an artificial period so the lining of my uterus would not thicken (causes cancer) but the thought of only eating a 4 ounce meal for the rest of my life makes me regret the sleeve. I know how it sounds…I just wanted to know if there’s anyone out there that has stretched it. I’m still in the early stages…
When did you get the sleeve surgery?
-
you got it for a reason... When did you get it done? You want to stretch it so you can go out and have dinners? you can still have dinners if you have healed up. you just simply wont eat as much.

Interesting. I didnt know they inflated your stomach too... I just thought they pumped air into the stomach cavity. I had a colonoscopy last year and when i woke up those pains from the air they pump in your colon was some of the worst pains i ever felt.

I never understood why they cant release that gas they pump into you before closing you up.

I chose Sleeve because of the price lol. bypass was like another 5-7 grand and i am already paying $18K+ for sleeve.

Mine is EKG, Chest Xray, and like 12 different blood test
My blood test stuff says
CBC W DIFF, CMP Serum, PT/PTT Plasma, Magnesium blood, Cooper blood, Zinc blood, Phosphorus blood, HBA1C, Lipid Panel, T3 Total, TSH ect...
Also a Psychological evaluation. I didnt need a sleep study because i have diagnosed sleep apnea, and also did not need a upper GI Endoscopy because i had one last year. All i have left waiting for me is the Psyc eval, taking 2 months for the next appointment for that which is BS.

Yea my insurance specifically excludes bariatric surgery and any complications that it may arise including needing revision or whatever. It sucks.

Sent from my SM-G970U1 using BariatricPal mobile app
Gastric sleeve. My first appointment was in December and one requirement from this doctor is a Psyc eval which the next opening wasnt until March which sucks. after that i can get going with scheduling surgery hopefully.

WELCOME How was the surgery? I am still waiting on the pre op requirements.

Its suppose to go up and down depending on what you are doing. Now do you mean very high or low? I have a blood pressure machine and a log book i keep track of it. Some times its up, sometimes its down,
