  1. Here is something that has helped me a lot...
I watched an interview with a Navy SEAL trainer, where he talked about people dropping out of SEAL training. Roughly 75% of the people who start the training drop out. He said the people who fail have a "long horizon." They are miserable in this training -- wet, exhausted, hungry, angry -- and the people who fail say to themselves, "I can't handle two more weeks of this." They think that every moment will be like the one they are currently experiencing and they quit. The ones who succeed and graduate have a very short horizon. "I can make it until dinner break." "I can make it until they let me take a 20 minute nap." "I can make it through sundown." And when they reach that horizon, they set a new short horizon.

Just tell yourself, "I can make it until I leave work for the day." Then, "I can make it until dinner time." Then, "I can make it until bedtime." Keep giving yourself short horizons until you've gotten through this stage. You can do it!

Very good advice and I'm doing it I will not give up

  2. I had gastric bypass 4 days ago still on Clear Liquids until the 22nd I'm still in some pain this is so different from the sleeve I had 2 years ago. I'm not hungry cuz I'm tired of broth I'm getting my Protein in as much as I can. If I knew 2years later after my gastric sleeve that I would have to have this bypass surgery I don't know If I would have done it. I lost a lot of weight with the sleeve surgery this bypass surgery I feel like it's hard to get energy I didn't feel like this with the sleeve

  3. My surgery is December 7th and I’ve been on Clear Liquids (broth, sugar free Jello, sugar free popsicles) since 11/29. My surgeon doesn’t even allow Protein Shakes pre op. I’m hungry, low energy, nauseous, dizzy, and headache…etc. I called the office and was told that this is his pre op and that ton of patients have made it through fine. I’m considering downing a Protein Shake a day just to survive until Tuesday. I’ve already lost 10 lbs.

Is this the hardest part of the process? I’m good with the changes I have to make post op, honestly can’t wait to meet me 2.0 [emoji4] but I’m struggling and crying tons because I’m so hungry and weak. Do people make it through surgery feeling like this beforehand?

My surgery is the same day as yours Protein Drinks is my lifesaver I can't believe your doctor will not let you have one im sorry but I would have had a Protein Drink

  4. It's really hard. I found hot things (broth, herbal tea) filled me up a bit better than cold but whatever way you look at it it's brutal. BUT - it's shrinking your liver right down so you can have your surgery and your new life. I hope the last 2 days fly by for you and your surgery goes super smoothly. Please let us all know how you're getting along.

Thank you all I'm still hanging in there.
