  1. It will take about a week or so. Make sure to light walk around every hour to 2 hours for 10-15 mins. Take your meds and gasx. Use a hot water bottle or heating pad, and alternate with ice packs. Try a binder as well.

I would do hot Water bottle for an hour, and ice pack for 30 mins. Several times a day. If I was laying there I had heat or ice pack on my upper belly. This gave me the best comfort.

Use the spirometer, and this helps even though it can be painful.

I would also do light slow windmills with my arms to help work the air they fill you up with.

Hey guys, can anyone recommend shopping list definites for post of week 1 and 2?

Zero Sugar Pedialyte. Gatorade zero with Protein, Gatorade fit. Bone Broth. With my doctors it is more about staying hydrated. I was told to push the pedialyte and Gatorade for electrolytes. Protein Shakes.< br /> the pedialyte I tolerate better then Gatorade.

also recommend a hot water bottle to help push the gas through and gas x. And may want to alternate hot Water bottle with ice pack until the pain has resided.

  3. Try Milk or Magnesium.
I noticed on liquid by bowels were not but I didn’t feel constipated etc.
however, after taking milk of magnesium my bowels moved and I dropped like 8 lbs, then after that it has been about a lb to 2 lbs a day. But only took that one dose if magnesium last week.

    Good luck in your surgery.
I just got post pone to January, just got sick.

  4. Multivitamins, try BariMelts. Bariatric Advantage orange is not that great. Well it is better if you don’t chew and just let it slowly dissolve. My dr did advise can use Flintstone as well.

Bariatric Advantage calcium chews are good but later I will switch to the CVS brand after I heal up and see how things are tolerated.

    Barimelts Vd3. B12. Biotin.< br />
Premier Protein. coffee one is not good, it has caffeine. Want to avoid caffeine after surgery.

Try premier Protein cake batter, Peanut Butter cup, Carmel, rootbeer is okay. I hear pumpkin spice was good.

muscle milk zero sugar vanilla, Chocolate and strawberry (they are less sweet than premier vanilla chocolate and strawberry)

    Also use bariatric Advantage Fiber.
    Vital Proteins non flavor.

Also you can sugar free sauces G Hughes sugar feee sauce, skinny girl dressing, and Jordan’s skinny syrups are good as well. I like use the syrups in the shakes. Like a mocha premiers chocolate shake, or I can caramel. Or to a Carmel shake I can add vanilla Syrup. Also syrups are good in black Decaf coffee with 1 pack if stevia.

Light cheese string, i buy the Walmart brand but I think it taste better at room temperature

Just know after surgery, your hormones will change and so will your taste buds.

  5. The other I forget to mention is I use diet ocean spray, and I mix it with vital Protein Powder. This helps with hunger and feeling full. I will also use Fiber mix from Bariatric Advantage, haven’t tried any other brand. The fiber I mix with Water and drink it fast cause it doesn’t dissolve. I also make to take gasx and I take a dose of Miralax everyday to avoid gas and Constipation.

  6. I have started the pre op early. To prep myself when it begins.

My preop is Breakfast shake, lunch shake, dinner 4 oz of lean meat/tuna and 2 cups of non starchy veggies. 1 snack (2 string cheese or 6 oz carb master yogurt, or 1 cheese string and 4 oz of carb master yogurt) I think I can do other Snacks but I don’t like them.

My WLS team advise me I was pant to do 4 oz eggs for dinner. Eggs seem to fill me up and keep me fuller longer.

Bone Broth has become my best friend. I really like the chicken Zoup Bone broth. It curbs those cravings. And the Calcium citrat chews, at 4pm I chow down on those 3 that I am allowed to have. But will have to stop them 9-27-22.

All I can say to prep myself and keep myself in track is to remember Be BORING when it comes to my food. And keep my focus on my goal.

It is really hard when I am cooking for my kid, and making them sweet tea or buying them snacks. LOL my kid asked if it was bad thing I had to cook. I said “I guess that depends on who is doing the cooking and who is doing the eating” lol

He tells me it’s isn’t that bad. I said good you can do it with me. He laughed and said ummm I don’t have a relationship with food the way you do. And I am already skinny. (He was not being negative, we have a sarcastic joking relationship) I just reminded him he said the diet wasn’t that bad. He laughed and said I am don’t need to suffer cause you had a toxic relationship with food.

I am going I am going to get a new healthy relationship with food and set those boundaries!!!!

  7. Hi,

For the first 8 weeks my doctors have only 2-4 teaspoons of food for each meal. And only 3 meals per day. After that it is 1/4 cup per meal 3xs a day.

My doctors also advise to take Miralax to make sure I don’t get constipated. My friend hit a stahl and turned out it was gas and Constipation.

Check in with your weight loss team!

  8. You could tried the Vital Peptides. It has 20 grams in Protein, it’s unflavored.
I only mix with room temp Water and I add a propel mix to it. Or just mix it with propel water, or something.

Talk to your nutritionist. My surgery is 10-4-22, but after surgery I am all liquids for first 2 weeks. So I am not sure what your drs is saying or wanting.
My nutritionist advised me that All fluids (shakes etc) go towards my liquid intake.
