  1. Sounds awful. We go through so much to have our surgery that we just expect that we'll get the results we want. I'm so sorry it hasn't gone as you expected so far. When you say you're having to eat the foods you have learned your stomach WILL tolerate, what kinds of foods are they? Can you share an average day's menu with us? I also wouldn't get too hung up on exercise - it doesn't contribute that much, honestly. Although it's good for us generally. Hopefully once you've lost more you will feel more able for that.

How did you get your water in???

Oh gosh yes OP it's really really hard at the start. I echo what everyone else has said. Sip sip sip all the time. Try fluids at different temperatures (I found out after people here advised me that I could drink *much* more liquid if it was warm). And if you're getting anywhere close to goal then that's usually good enough. I wish you the best of luck.

    I MADE IT TO GOAL!

Wow Wow Wow!! Fab before and after photos. Huge congratulations!!! Welcome to your new life 😍

How to get pas a Plateau

Hi OP. Sounds like you had a relatively small amount to lose. 👍 Could you let us know what your starting weight and goal weight are? Also what your procedure was? And when you had your surgery? If so we could probably advise you more specifically! You sound really close to your goal - best of luck to you!
  5. There's a huge thread about this here already OP!

    Please don’t hate.

Hi OP. Firstly - I hope you're OK with where you are. Sounds like your restriction is exceptional 4 years out? If you could provide more information about your current intake/plan/macros then people might be better able to answer your questions. Also, if you could make your actual questions clearer then people will no doubt be able to target their answers better! Is it that you don't want to resort to carbs in order not to lose more weight? If so, what are you currently eating, what is your BMI, what do you want to re-examine??? We're all here and eager to help you xxx
  7. More stats would be really helpful OP - agree with Arabesque. If you're close to your goal weight or a 'normal' BMI then weight loss will naturally slow and can plateau for long periods but then lose some more. A few pounds on shouldn't necessarily mean the end of your loss forever. If you're straying from your programme then it might be good to stick to that rigidly for a few weeks to see if it will get you back on track.
  8. I wasn't given any specific restrictions but I did lift my 15kg dog about a fortnight out and caused considerable pain to my biggest incision (where they removed my excess stomach). Took a couple of weeks to be pain free after that. I agree you should check with your team. They all seem to be slightly different. And proceed with caution - you have the rest of your life to get fit!
  9. I was never given any specific goals to meet at any stage. At 3 weeks after my sleeve I was probably eating 3 tiny 2oz pureed things per day. If I was hungry I had a teaspoon or two of nut butter before bed, or if it was earlier in the day a few spoons of Greek yoghurt.
  10. Just sharing the Irish equivalent. Had no idea it was so (relatively) low in protein - I do track *everything* but I must have missed this in the general deliciousness of Boursin!

    Finally reached goal!

So fab to hear your story OP! Hope this gets you to where you need to be.

How much protein is too much?

I know I post the same thing all the time but I was never given ANY goals - protein, fluids, nothing! It was totally reach your stages by texture. Eat as much as you can of: clear liquids; thick/full liquids; puree; soft foods; proper endgame food. That was it! I've done fine but that was with the help of everyone here. Think my surgeon's 'hands off' approach is probably fine for some people but not others.

    NEED ADVICE/GUIDANCE/HELP!!!!

OK - firstly, you are doing absolutely fine. Anyone who has lost 60lbs in 5.5 months is WINNING! We all stray from the path a little at times! You have already identified where you strayed - carbs. So from tomorrow, get back to your surgeon's plan. I suspect it will be protein first, veg second, carbs last (by a long way). Stick to that. I have a sleeve and I was still losing miniscule amounts of weight almost 2 years out. You have loads of time to get to where you want to be. I wish you luck!

    Puree

What surgery did you have and how long ago OP? It would help us to advise you if you could provide a little more detail. 👍 I had a sleeve, and in the puree phase (2-4 weeks post op) I was eating WAY less than 100 grams/3.5oz per meal. Probably more like 2oz? But I was getting protein in in other ways (shakes).

    NO TRACKING ?

Oh I am so sorry - this has never happened to me before but everything this evening is posting repeatedly 😥

    NO TRACKING ?

I track everything every day and I think I always will. Could be just me though. Hasn't stopped me regaining 5 pounds from my lowest weight a few months ago. I honestly did nothing different (I mean NOTHING) so am chalking it up to the mysterious third year gain. Annoying but not too concerning at this point - am monitoring closely though!
