  1. Things I am already "not missing":

:blushing:Exceeding my share of the transit seats

    :eek:Clothing that is increasingly tight

    :sad:Airplane seatbelt extenders

    :blink:Sore knees

    :crying:Focus on food

    I am enjoying:

    :biggrin:Compliments

    :lol:Energy

    Support

    :thumbup:Confidence

    Moving in the right direction!!!

  2. I am out of town for work right now and PBed at dinner with my colleagues. No one noticed, I just got up and walked across the restaurant and down stairs to the washroom just in time!!

I am still figuring out what full is like. I don't need to eat much - just not getting all the Protein in I need. I find stress continues to tighten band. I have only had one fill and could not handle any more right now. Kim

  3. Great sharing All Stars!!!

Wonderful you were back to work and looking great Lanakila! Telling others can inspire their health as well a support to you. 3 great NSV's

Jadamom 2 more NSV's. So much to celebrate! Glad you are both doing so well.

    Keep it coming everyone! Kim

  4. Tomato sauce or salsa on your chicken is good and moist. Marinate it before you cook it. I have used ground turkey and made chili and sliced chicken in curry or chicken in mushroom sauce.

Crock pot receipe's are great and moist. A roast of beef or pork can be shredded and eaten with ease.

I found Tilipia not fishy or fatty and great with some salsa. Goes down nicely.

I had my first slime with chicken out with work colleagues. Not pretty! Salads are okay though.

Stress also tightens my band. I don't feel I have much restriction yet unless I am stressed at work. I don't feel stress in any other way.

Eating is a big learning experience....Kim:tt2:

  5. I have 5 NSV's to share today!

    1. My pants are falling off, and shoes are loose!
    2. I feel more energetic - no naps
    3. Walked around the Canadian National Exhibition for hours yesterday
    4. People are very encouraging; you look great, your skin is great, what have you done
    5. Taking public transit now and walked home from subway; no bus for me!

I have been a little sore, like I pulled something for the 2nd time. These 5 things make up for that! First fill next Monday!

So what is making you happy outside of what your scale says? (I am weighing myself next week)

    Kim

  6. It makes it easier to look to the future and the things the will feel good. I am thinking about regular clothing stores and room on transit and I have more energy. Today a realized I will have to retire some very nice work clothes....they are sooooo big they look silly! Think about what your future looks like and good luck....Kim

  7. Hello Lankila; This is a time to be really kind to yourself. Nice long bath, foot rub, massage, shopping, long walks and a lot of Water. Read a great book, trashy magazines, good music, light some candles. Continue this over the next month. You deserve it!!!!!!!!!!!

I find being busy or indulging are two ways to distract myself. Control what you can. Best of luck, thanks for your inspiration. Kim

  8. Hi Kristen; I have never had refried Beans. Where do you get them?

:tt2:I had a great meal last night.

4 oz of tilipia cooked in a non-stick pan

Topped with 2 tablespoons of salsa

    Cooked Cauliflower with melted Velveta

Soft and full of flavour....not fishy!

I find it hurts if it is not soft or really crunchy. Egg white omlettes with cooked veggies and humus inside are great.

I feel special when I make good meals. It is important to track as you go. I have been using fit day. It really shows your mistakes. Like a few Pringles...so not worth it.

Tonight is a curried chicken with so many veggies. I shredded veggies and sliced chicken thin so it will be moist and soft. I will try cauliflower rice dish to go with it. Good eating to all! Kim

  9. recipes are tough as I just put it all together. I used all these ingredients and added no oil. I was very yummy and full of Protein. I chew this well and have no trouble with the Beans.

    2 Packages of Ground Turkey

1 large can of diced tomatoes

1 large can of pureed tomatoes

    1 can of Tomato paste

    1 diced onion

    mucho garlic

    1 diced pepper

    chopped mushrooms

    1 can of kidney Beans

    1 can of chick peas

1 can of white kidney beans

    3 tablespoons of chili spices

    2 tablespoons of oregano

    2 tablespoons of basil

    1 teaspoon of pepper

    2 tablespoons of splenda

I cook the meat in a non-stick pan until crisp with half the chili and pepper then add chopped garlic, onion, mushrooms, and peppers. When soft add the remaining ingredients. Remember to rinse the beans. Add a little Water if it is too thick. Cook covered for several hours. Freeze a bunch up for some tasty dinners. I have not had the chance to put into FitDay.com yet to get the stats....

I am really focusing on getting the Protein in my diet. I discovered ground flax seeds at Cosco. 2 table spoons gives 4g of protein for 90 calories. You can add this to your Protein shakes, chili, yogurt.....Take care all...Kim:tt2:

  10. I had surgery 3 weeks on Friday. I have no idea what restriction feels like. Actually I thought I had none, until tonight. eggs are great! German pancakes...made mostly from eggs are not. I am trying to avoid wheat anyhow but since these are mostly eggs, thought I would give a small one a try. I felt restriction and pain. Won't be doing that again.

I made a turkey chili last night with 3 types of Beans. My DH packaged them up in little containers and I took one to work today. So good and easy to eat. Chili:thumbup: Pancakes:thumbdown:. Eating is just one big experiment! Kim

  11. I was back to work on Monday. Had nice Soups for lunch and Protein shakes. I noticed that I was not really getting the Protein I needed. I corrected that since starting soft foods. In one restaurant they served only one Soup and I asked for them to puree it for me. The waitress was not very hopeful, but success, and I enjoyed my dinner. I was out of town for 3 days and brought the magic bullet to make my shakes. I started with some eggs and had Wendy's Chili on the way home.

Last Saturday I had a set back when I lifted some groceries. DO NOT LIFT! It felt like an awful pull or rip. I call the nurse on Monday and as it was feeling better she told me I should be okay. It does feel better but it has slowed me down quite a bit. Now home in my own kitchen it is time to eat enough protein.

I gained 4 pounds this week.....still very cool with overall loss and how I am looking and feeling!

  12. Hello Roheryn: Sounds like you found yourself a good distraction from this big change. That is a lot of hard work. Your body has already started to notice the change. My headache lasted 2 days and was gone. Take good care of yourself and find a way to pamper yourself for these two weeks. Kim

  13. :thumbup:Welcome Ani: Great to hear you don't have much pain. I am just a few days ahead of you, and it so much better gas wise. Once you are past the liquids get yourself some gourmet soup! It is such a fabulous treat, I can happy here for the week with that and some Protein shakes! Take good care of yourself. Kim

  14. :thumbs_up:Leslie: What a great post. I am only a week out and every day have to think about what stage I am at what I can have, also thinking about preparing for the next stage. Thanks for the advice. The liquids are very simple to manage, making a puree of a meal or eating baby food sounds kind of yucky and time consuming. I am thankful for the Magic Bullet!

    Thanks again. Kim

  15. Hi Lanakila; I love the naming the band thread. This should be fun and telling. This has been a very big step for me one that I have taken for my health, as in I want to live to see daily life, graduations, weddings, grandchildren. The other benefit with going from Hot Intelligent Babe to Slim Hot Intelligent Babe, a real SHIT!:tt2:, is buying stuff where ever, sitting anywhere, flying anywhere including my hubby's 145lb lap! He has never seen me below 220 lbs, other than pictures.

Oh yeah the name. This band and program is working for me and since I am a Princess I think of the as my Knight , Sir Bandalot! Now I am going to go around name more stuff...I am inspired! Looking forward to the responses! Kim

  16. I was taped up underneath the bandages. The protocol was wear the bandages for 3 days and sponge bathe. Remove bandages on the fourth day and shower. No baths for 4 weeks and no swimming for 6 weeks. I have no cream because I am taped. The tape will fall of in 7 to 10 days when I heal.

    Kim

  17. I have lost 30 pounds over the last three weeks! I can fit into a great pair of sandals, and my clothes are baggy. One very happy princess who is ready to luzalot more! Kim

    17lbs pre-surgery

    13lbs this week

Exercise short walks and back to school shopping!

Next week: Back to work on Monday and traveling by Wednesday!

  18. The surgery was short and they knocked me out so quickly, I remember nothing, which is how I like it. I woke up to go home with my hubby. Yesterday I had Reike and massage to rid my body of the anestetic. I find I slept like a baby and feel clearer today, and have greater energy. (which is why I am still up) I had kidney stone emergency surgery a few months ago and did the same thing. I highly recommend this therapy. Focus on everything being well and it will. You can make it happen......Kim
