  1. Not much going in so not a lot to come out, Do the Math!
  2. EXACTLY my reasons Angelwhispers! Best choice of what's currently available.
  3. "Oh, a lovely NSV: one of the little ones at my school today didn't think my last year's picture (on my ID) was me! I told him it really was, but I was trying to get healthier and had lost some weight. He nodded his head wisely and said, "my mommy is always on a diet, too." These children are so adorable! Next year, I hope to look even less like my ID photo (that I just had taken a few days ago)!" This tale made me remember that my school ID pic is to be taken next week, 1 week before me getting banded and I have decided to turn my weightloss into a lesson for my class and take my measurements with ribbons and compare as the time goes on. They are 6 year olds and are bubbling over with interesting and relevant questions, which I am only to happy to answer.
  4. The weight didnt appear on your body overnight, so it wont disappear overnight either. Remember, up your protein to take your body out of starvation mode (thats when it wants to hold onto its weight) and step up the exercise or vary it as your body gets used the same old, same old! Good luck and keep your chin up!
  5. Teacher here too, and I have surgery in 3 weeks and having 2 weeks school break to recover and organise my brain and eating. I have also been taking time to cook and freeze little packages of homemade vegie soup. I have stocked to on protein powder to make shakes and have in a good supply of vegetable juice, so when I am left my own devises I won't fall into any bad habits. I want to follow the rules as best I can so I can achieve the best possible outcome. So take a deep breath, and good luck with your surgery.
  6. WELCOME TO THE SEPTEMBER SAMURAIS. I am being done on the 4th also. There is a group of us on here somewhere! I keep getting lost. Oh here it is! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f184/what-your-surgery-date-lets-keep-list-71218/ Please join us and best wishes on your journey!
  7. Welcome Katydid, Fellow Aussie here about to be banded in a few weeks. Hope you enjoy being here as this site has heaps of friendly, supportive people and information.
  8. I am to be banded in a few weeks and I have been reading loads on here that has freaked me out! HOWEVER!! I have read loads more positive stuff so feel like I can handle this and benefit greatly. Yesterday I came upon a poll here that polled loads and loads of people and 71% had a trouble-free time with their band the others had a variety of complications eg: port flipping, slipped band etc. After reading this I am remaining positive and I know that I can follow all the rules so I will be doing my best for a good outcome. Nothing is ever achieved if changes aren't made, so be strong, informed and positive that things will go well, and the chances are, they will be!. Best Wishes for Thursday.
  9. 4th Sept. for me to be banded in Tasmania, Australia
  10. The best revenge is living well, and you can do that by slimming down, being healthy and feeling great about yourself and you don't need a low-life guy like him to do that.
  11. Breakfast ...........1 Lamington Snack ................1 TimTam Lunch.................1 Vegemite sanger Snack.................1 Iced VoVo Dinner................2oz Kangaroo Steak and bite of baked spud. Was really good and resisted the Pavlova!
  12. I think we have a few girls named Deb in this months banding list. I'm a Deb also!
  13. What is sliming????? Please explain!
  14. Fabulous to see so many of us about to join a healthier life! Thanks Denver for being official keeper of the list.
  15. I do an hour in my pool every morning between 6 and 7 and although my band date hasn't yet arrived I know I will be continuing in this vein as my joints feel great, I feel energised and wide awake by the time I hit work at 8.30am. I used to be a stiff old croc ( now I'm just old) but now I have thrown away my arthritis medication and can enjoy the days pain free. I know once my weight is off me as well, I will feel even stronger and healthier.
  16. Teacher here, being banded 4th Sept 2008 and looking forward to it so much. I teach a kindergarten and Prep class.
  17. Please excuse my ignorance, but what is sliming?
  18. Well Sunwyse, Kate has her ups and downs with the band. She is typical of a bander who has not addressed whats going on in her head. She successfully got down to a size 10 from being 25 stone. But time went on and she found she could pig out so her weight went up and down over the years. She actually is the reason I didn't want to be banded as I thought that everytime you ate, you vomited because through my experience with her, thats what happened. However, since then I have now realized that I don't have the same head issues as her and that I can actually follow rules without a hassle. So thats why in 4 weeks I will be banded. She is still, managing the band going thru stages of being filled and unfilled. I feel it would not be terribly healthy for your body to go through what she does to hers.
  19. I have seen them on Ebay @ $179.00 + 3 months subscription, US dollars I think. CalorieKing.com.au - Australian Online Diet and weight loss club. Lose weight for good! will be keeping track for me and that costs only $44. They have a huge data base of foods and exercise values showing how much you have used daily and how much you have left.
  20. I'm with you girls, a TT will be definitely a necessity. I havent been banded yet but my tummy hangs and gets i the way and is terribly uncomfortable, so when the weight goes I know it will hang even more so all your advice here is going to be closely monitored. Thanks
  21. 4th September here and I can't wait!!!!
  22. Wear something vaguely fashionable + dance, dance, dance, when I go out to my Blues gigs.
  23. My friend Kate was banded 2001 in Tasmania.
