  1. So I had to jump through a lot of hoops, but I am finally getting my band fixed. For 3 months I have been virtually band free. I have no restriction whatsoever. My eating has increased which caused me to gain 10 pounds but then I got my rear in gear and lost 5 of that.

Tomorrow morning is my port replacement surgery. I am almost as nervous as when I got my band way back in August but very happy to be getting back on track again.

  2. Well I am through with my pity party and back on track. I have hit the gym 3 times this week and plan on a couple more through weekend. I am really watching what I eat even more than when I felt like I was at my sweet spot. No, the doctor didn't try another time but I am more than certain I have a leak. I can feel absolutely no restriction.Thank you all for your words of wisdom and support. It really helped.

  3. Around the first of the year, it felt like all of a sudden my band disappeared. I had no more restriction. I called the doctor's office and was told I probably just need a fill and set up an appointment. Yesterday I went for the fill with a hunch that it was more than just needing a fill but hoping that was it.

The doctor was giving me 1 cc on top of the 8 I had already. When she was pulling out the existing fill, she could only get 3 cc out. She went ahead and gave me 1 more cc to bring me up to 4 cc. I had 5 cc when they put the band in. I am going backwards!

So I go back Feb 16 to see if I have lost more. Then, more than likely, another surgery to replace the port.

I am so bummed! I was doing so well then, when this happened, it was like I hit a brick wall. I gained a few pounds last week but I have got them off with the 2 days liquid. I am just horrified that weight is going to come packing on.

    Any words of wisdom?

  4. Two days after New Years, all the alcohol caught up with me. I gained 5 pounds! I drink very rarely and I think I will give it up for good. It's just not worth it.

So I have spent the last 2 weeks getting that weight off. It's been difficult because I desperately need a fill. It feels as though I have lost all restriction.

As of today, I have lost all the extra weight plus 1 pound.

  5. I live over 250 miles from where I was banded. That was the closest for me. I can't say I love the drive but is worth it. If possible, get something closer. If not, get an audio book and listen on your way back and forth.

  6. I can't remember for sure but I think I have 7 cc in right now. My last fill was in October and I have felt like I was at my sweet spot. I have consistently lost since my fill and have cancelled 2 fill appointments. The last few days however I have been feeling quite a bit less restriction. Hopefully the next sweet spot will be just as easy to find.

  7. Count me in! The small goals really help to keep me on track.

My birthday is March 3 and I'm shooting for my 100 pound loss by then. I have 17.5 pounds until then. So, I will set my Valentine's Day goal for 13 down. I am 231 so that will put me at 218.

For those of you that didn't make goal and don't feel like doing another challenge, that is all the more reason to do it. Come on people, we've gone through a lot to get this far, so get those bodies movin'.

  8. Everybody's fill level is different. Do not set a goal of how much fill you should have. Only you have that body and know where you should be.

As for pb'ing so often, you probably did need a slight unfill if even your slider foods are getting stuck. I do think you need to slow way down though on eating. If I take too big of bite of one of my slider foods and don't chew well enough, it is quite uncomfortable for a few moments.

Don't beat yourself up over not learning how to change your behavior yet. We have all been eating quickly and taking too big of bites for probably over 20 years. It will take us more than a week to modify that eating style. You must make a conscious effort though to slow it down. Take a bite and physically lay the fork or spoon down on the plate and move your hands off the table. Sometimes I have to even scoot back a bit to stop my desire to shove it all in.

    Good luck to you!

  9. The way I see it, sometimes (not often mind you) we have to allow ourselves to not follow the rules. I know I would become bitter towards the band if it was so restrictive that I couldn't enjoy tasting local cuisine. You are not doing this every day so don't feel bad about it. Life is ours to enjoy. Have a good time in Singapore, try to mix in more exercise, and there's always a liquid diet to get you back on track when you get home.

  10. About a month ago I stated losing quite a bit as well. I started researching it and, even though it could be attributed to many things such as not enough Protein or Iron, I came to the conclusion that mine was due to surgery. I have read that 4 to 6 months after surgery with anesthesia, the body goes through this phase. I read that it lasted about 3 to 4 weeks and then new growth is noticeable. This is exactly what has happened to me.

I imagine most of the All Stars are experiencing this about now.

  11. Not having to shop at Lane Bryant is a huge thing for me (anybody else find it ironic that Lap Band and Lane Bryant have the same initials?). Last night I went shopping and a store in our mall is closing so everything is super cheap. Before, I wouldn't have even gone in because nothing would fit. I got a few tops that fit me now and 2 pair of jeans as goals. All of these were less than $5 each. No way would Lane Bryant have anything that cheap. And I felt like a "normal" person shopping in a "normal" store.

Another change is how much more active I am. Today I actually ran up the stairs at church and I was wearing wedge heels. I wasn't even winded. I was in shock!

One more thing... I love that I don't eat to the point of misery like before. I went to Olive Garden last night with some friends. I had some salad and then just a few bites of my dinner. I was done and felt satisfied. I didn't feel the need to keep eating like before. Everyone else was groaning they ate too much by the time they were done. I just smiled.

  12. I just found this thread and I think it's great! For those still "spelunking" (I cracked up at that one), there is one thing that just pushes me over the edge that might help. I have 2 bullets. I put one deep inside me and one on my clit. The penis goes inside and pushes the bullet deeper and onto the g-spot and then turn the bullets on. I just can't do this when kids home because I absolutely scream. I also put down several layers of towels because it really causes me to squirt.

    Hope this helped!
