That’s great!! SAME! I’m down 28 pounds exactly too! Good for you!

Here are just a couple of the silly things that have made me smile the last couple weeks:
1. I can buy cute underwear that are not made out of white flour sack material.
2. I can put on my socks in the morning with out making strange sounds and grunting.
3. When getting dressed to go somewhere the first thing out of my mouth is NOT "does this make me look fat!"

Being able to help my husband build our new fence. I wouldn’t have been able to help much a year ago. Not sure if this is really a good thing 🙄😂

I also love being able to fold into smaller spaces.

Drink G2 Gatorade and some broth those two have some sugar some carbs and sodium.

Hi everyone. I have been following this forum since 2018 when I got sleeved but never had the courage to make an account and post. Well, I got the courage today because I feel like my life is spinning out of control. I will try and keep this as short as possible for brevity but I really need some support and encouragement.
I am a male, early 40's who got VSG in 2018. I lost approximately 125 lbs. I was happy, my life changed. I was motivated, more social and felt like I was on top of the world. I got down to 170-175 and felt great. Then, the pandemic hit. Before it hit, my family left my state and moved. Then my father passed during the pandemic and I ended up moving out of state and trying to start my life over. My remaining family lives about 3 hours from me.
I never really had a problem with alcohol until the pandemic and the loss of my dad. I put on about 40 lbs in a year between drinking and eating horribly. I don't think I stretched my sleeve because I can feel restrictions, but the carbs from beer are what's doing it. I just joined a gym, and I stopped drinking a few days ago. I also have an appointment with a therapist.
People say that it's hardest to lose weight after initial weight gain from VSG. I don't really know anyone in my state or town where I moved, so I need to keep myself accountable. I got the courage to sign up. I also am going to do high Protein low carb and see if I have results. I am about 215 right now and I dread seeing people, I am even avoiding seeing my family because of the weight gain.

Yikes...I bought Gas-X to take with me. I heard walking and/or a heating pad helps. Feel better!

My sister tells me I'm obsessed all the time! I've probably watched every YouTube video there is related to VSG. Do what makes you comfortable and gives you peace! I love that you have a 5 year old cheerleader!

Got it done yesterday and I’m getting to go home today. Pain isn’t so bad I think it’s more gas than tummy pain,but I am dry heaving when I drink fluids.

yeah it’s more uncomfortable than really painful.. It was painful for me in recovery tho once I woke up… my incisions i don’t even know they are the ere unless I look at them. I have no pain or soreness around those spots… just the cramps/gas

My surgery was yesterday and I just got home. Everything went well. I am able to drink and the pain isn’t too bad. Hopefully things will keep going smoothly.

My surgery date is August 17. I am excited and nervous!

i’m out of surgery, first night! The gas pains are horrible

Yes, I am flying home today (day 5 after surgery). I booked a bunch of extra days (my bariatric team recommended just 2 nights after surgery) because I was scared of flying while unwell. But honestly I could have comfortably flown on day 3 or even 2.
Right after surgery and on the first day after surgery I was freaking out about how terrible I felt and I couldn't imagine I would recover well enough to travel within a week, but it really does improve exponentially everyday.
Having said that, I had a pretty textbook surgery, no complications, and Water + babyfood was going down without issue for me on the very next day after surgery. My biggest struggle was the gas pain and shoulder pain (from the gas) and overwhelming tiredness.
It is good to let your surgeon know you are traveling so soon so they could provide you with compression stockings, anticoagulant injections, or stronger pain killers just in case.
