My band slipped, have GBS, love it, have a job I love, life is good!

After 18 months of following the rules scrupulously (I could've been a lap band poster child) my band slipped. It hurt like the devil; doc removed it yesterday 2/24/2010. I'm sure it is a viable option for many people and those of you for whom it is working I say YAY! After 18 months and 113 pounds down, though, it ultimately wasn't the solution for me. Plain...I think your school was party central back when you went! I'm a native Texan, born in El Paso, but love every corner of this great state!

I will...I don't really have any (hate the camera! LOL) but within the next couple weeks I'll do it. I'm a short fat broad, if that helps! (short I can't help but the fat is going away!)

I don't really know...I am Tricare Standard and used (and LOVE LOVE LOVE) Dr. Sonny Cavazos (he works out of northeast Baptist) For me, I went to the seminar 7/10 and had my (first) surgery 8/11. It was fast (I wanted it that way, wanted it done before school started) and wonderful. Preop tests included psych eval, nutritionist consult, upper gi test, ecg, blood work, abdominal ultrasound, chest x-ray (most of that was done in 2 different appointments). I especially loved that Northeast Baptist has a wonderful lady named Nadia who's sole job is to get all the paperwork in line for our insurance companies. She did it ALL. It was so easy!

So my experience was great all the way through!
