  1. I think it just goes to show weights look different on everyone because I know some tall girls who weigh around 160 and look great. I also know that at 235 I was looking decent, wore size 14 and L shirts and felt really good physically. I don't know though. I just hope I can make it to 220. 2. Yeah have to keep that in mind. It'd be so nice to be under 200 though Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. Thats true. I feel like if I give myself a goal like 175 I'm never going to get there. I need to chunk things to make them mentally scalable lol I guess I'll see how 220 looks on me first. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. Nice! Did you get any excess skin removed? That can also affect weight. I'm also thinking doctors give u a goal factoring in excess skin. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Thanks for sharing! I feel like I couldn't even imagine being under 200 lbs but I think I just haven't weighed less than 200 since I was a little kid. I once lost a lot of weight too and got to 235. I don't have many pics from those days but I hve this one. I remember being able to feel my ribs and hip bones at that weight. I had a lot of loose skin on my lower stomach (apron stomach). My hips are really wide too. The side by side was me at like 300 lbs and the one next to it in the denim coat is about now at 255. Congrats!! I'm looking forward to just being overweight LOL It's a big accomplishment! My hair is falling out too. I am just parting it differently. Sometimes I wear ball caps. If it was colder, I'd wear a beanie.

    Affordable personal training

I'm really looking for in person opportunities with weight machines. I am pretty decent with my cardio but have no clue what to do when it comes to weight training. I feel like it'll be beneficial for my metabolism and loose skin. (My arms and legs already look atrocious can't wait for maintenence so I can get everything sliced off lol) I guess I could look up weight training videos and bring them to the gym! 9. Does anyone have any advice on how to get an affordable personal trainer? I'm just broke enough where that's not really in the budget but I want someone to help me develop my muscle groups so badly. Are there any special online websites or gyms you know of? I'm moving to Texas in a month so I'm thinking of starting there. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

The slimes.... can anyone explain them?

No. Dumping is a different beast although personally I think slime is worse because of the chest pain. I've dumped once since my surgery in Feb 2022. I didn't puke or go to the bathroom but I wanted to throw up. It was mainly dizziness, rapid heart beat, hot flashes, and bowel discomfort. Slimies are more focused on your esophagus I feel and usually accompanied by puking. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

The slimes.... can anyone explain them?

It's over production of mucus I think. It's gross. I've had it happen to me. It's the worst with cooked broccoli for me. I spit up for 20 minutes then eventually throw up a big ball of mucus. Lovely, I know but part of all of this lol Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Three Months

Hey I'm a bit over 3 months post op. Same thing with me. I miss salads dearly and I get random nausea. My doctor said that's normal. Everyday is different. Sometimes what worked before won't work tomorrow. I will probably try salad soon since I'm tolerating everything really well. Will start out with iceberg. I'm already allowed to eat all other raw vegetables. But yeah, I think it's just part of the experience. I get nauseous for no reason, still need zofran from time to time. I think it'll get better by month 6. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Regrets ?

No regrets. Over 3 months post op. Lost a lot ot weight and have the beat relationship with food I've ever had in my entire life. I don't miss overeating. All I can remember was how sick and stuffed I felt all the time in the past. That's no longer my reality. I feel so thankful and blessed to be on this journey. First post op date

Thanks! Yeah it went well but I wasn't feeling it tbh. He luckily didn't offer food or anything but we talked about weight loss because he said he really wants to lose 10 lbs and I can't believe it but I told him I was on a weight loss journey and recently lost a lot of weight. That was the first time ever I've been comfortable enough with MYSELF to talk about that so I'm very happy about that. In the past I would freeze up if a date talked about diet or exercise (even when I was losing weight in the past, I had such a negative relationship to myself and my body) but it made me realize how much I've grown as a person to be able to speak openly about that. I phrased it like yeah I'm on a weight loss journey so I'm very conscious about what I'm eating and drinking right now. Didn't mention surgery but then he was like thats great i want to lose 10 lbs, maybe for our next date we can go on a run together LOL Not sure there will be a next date for me. I did that for experience and to flex my dating muscle a bit. He was very sweet But I'm also moving states so I'm not particularly interested in long term relationships at the moment. He did give me this funny business card at the end. I wonder how it will be in the future though. I don't know why but I almost don't want to tell whoever I date I had gastric bypass until I'm at my goal weight. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Fairlife Core Power 42 grams

Wow I DID NOT know this haha definitely need to change my protein habits then..I tend to try to get it all in through a shake and protein snack. I looked it up and yeah seems like I can't have more than 26ish grams of protein at a time? I just started splitting my shakes. Good to know. Thanks!!! Food Before and After Photos

I was CRAVING Buffalo chicken and had these little plant based nuggets on hand. I air fried the potato, nuggets, added Buffalo sauce, some herb Ranch, and thinly sliced celery. My restriction has been intense lately so I'm trying to just do 1 meal a day I really want to eat and then shakes for the rest of the day , I notice I feel pretty satisfied that way. This was really delicious and went down smooth. About 10 grams of protein in the nuggets, I also mixed nutritional yeast in the Ranch which has about 4 grams of protein. February 2022 Surgery Buddies

Def understandable! I had mine on Feb 14th and find that it's way easier to Snack than to eat meals. I try to just be conscious about what I'm eating, portion control it and make up for my protein with shakes. My restriction is really kicking in these days and have been mostly just doing shakes and one small meal. I also dumped for the first time last week. It was AWFUL. I was traveling with friends and hadn't eaten anything all day. We went on a long vigorous hike (I was visiting the state parks in Oregon). We all worked up ah appetite and decided to get dinner after. There was nothing on the menu I could eat (I don't eat meat and can't have salad yet) so I ordered French fries because I dont have issues with potatoes. I had some fries and felt fine and then I tried my friends honey butter and omg like right after dinner I was dizzy, my heart was pounding, and I was so incredibly nauseous. We had an hour and a half long drive back to our airbnb and I just sat in the back and was like don't mind my retching that food was not a good idea. They were really understanding and offered to stop at a bathroom but I didn't even have anything to throw up. It resolved itself after I took a nap in the back seat but wow I felt like I was fighting a demon. I learned my lesson. I want to get better at eating my small meals so I don't end up not eating all day and then impulse choosing something that won't agree with me but lately the restriction has been in full bloom. I'm mostly drinking premier and Fairlife shakes and then having small protein snacks in between. I've lost 84 lbs since beginning this journey. The numbers are all quite motivating but now I just want to work on finding an eating routine that works for my crazy life. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Is this a real stall?

I stall everytime I get my period. Then when it stops 5 days later I drop 4-5 lbs. This has happened every month lol but I know non menstrual related stalls are super common. Just keep eating in a deficit and drink a bunch of water. Sometimes I stall too if I'm constipated. I take some laxatives and continue on the losing streak. 21. This is weird but I've been celebrating some nvs's lately. I've been traveling a lot. So first now that I am looking less large, I feel like I can be more incognito at the airport/not take up a bunch of room/not be hot and sweaty/and just slip by the way I wanted to when I was 340 lbs. Also I fit on the planes better. Still not perfect but there's always room in the buckle and I can cross my legs allowing more space. Another thing that I was pleasantly surprised by, I was hanging out with some friends. A new couple I had never met before came in while I was out of the room. I went in to introduce myself while my other friend left the room..I waved hi to them and they kind of ignored me..I thought hmmm that was awkward and a bit rude but maybe I didn't say hi loud enough. Fast forward and the couple stands up and I walk towards them and say, HI BTW My name is #####. And they both look at me and go OOOO SORRY I THOUGHT YOU WERE THE GIRL IN HERE BEFORE (the one that already introduced herself to them). This is weird but it was nice to hear because I've never been mistaken for her although people always think were related because were the same ethnicity but she's a lot smaller than me. In fact the last time her and I went on a trip ,some random passerby yelled out to us "look at the twins, one little, one big" which was embarrassing for me but I laughed it off..it's funny to go from that to people mistaking us for the same person. Relinquishes some of my dysmorphia. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

    PreOp Diet Struggles

I did 2 week pre op liquid with lean proteins and 2 week all loquid post op. It's HARD, it's DEPRESSING, it SUCKS but it's worth it! Slip ups are OK, just get back on track and give yourself enough time to eat/drinkc to your doctors orders before surgery. Personally, sugar free Gatorade, sugar free jello (particularly strawberry), sugar free jolly ranchers, sugar free menthol drops, and sugar free popsicles got me through the worst of it. Blending your shakes with ice too is yummy, makes it taste more like a milkshake rather than a sad thick milk Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

3+ month post op and eating in the morning

I use to intermittent fast, the first time I lost a significant amount of weight I did OMAD but it lead to binge eating after a while and was hard to maintain. It helps now with the bypass that I don't feel hunger as intensely and can't physically binge anyway. I usually just do a shake and coffee. Sometimes though it's awkward, I've bee invited to brunch/breakfast and can't eat but usually I just get an egg a la carte and push it around to keep up appearances. I've never heard of the fluid thing but it would explain the extreme discomfort in the morning and virtually nothing in the afternoon lol. I will ask my doc. I'm personally not concerned. I don't mind not eating breakfast and have never been a breakfast person. I was just curious if this is a normal part of wls, i.e., restrictions going strong in the morning. Interesting perspectives tho! Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Sugar free ice cream?

I recently tried halo top. It was yummy! I usually try to have a healthier option though for a sweet meal like a low sugar protein yogurt and no sugar added dark chocolate chips. I suppose halo top has less calories than that so if you just want a couple spoonfuls of something sweet without the caloric load, halo top is decent. Just make sure it's part of your dieticians guidelines. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

Super happy but a bit confused

Clothing sizes suck, particularly women's. I just went shopping and fit into a women's large at Coach with room. Then I tried on an XL at Columbia and couldn't get the damn thing to zip! What a world! Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
